Failed installation of Windows XP on the laptop replacement

I replaced my old machine with an Acer netbook and load my version of Windows XP on it. I have uninstalled from original machine, but implemented on netbook fails with STOP 0x0000007B. I think it is because the installation cd/dvd is an original version, as my investigations imply that it works with SP3. How can I get a cd/dvd containing the SP3 to replace my original cd/dvd?

Cool. You are welcome!

    Hello

    1. when exactly you get this error message?

2 are you able to boot into the office after getting this error on blue screen?

    3. don't you make changes to the computer until the problem occurred?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Try to start your system in safe mode and check if the same problem occurs.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Method 2 : If the question does not exist in Mode safe mode then try to put your computer in a clean boot state.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

Method 3: If the problem persists, then try to run the Startup Repair tool.

Startup Repair is a Windows Vista recovery tool that can fix certain problems, such as system files missing or damaged that may prevent Windows from starting correctly. When you run the Startup Repair, it scans your computer for the problem and then tries to fix it so that your computer can start correctly.

    Hello

Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

    ____________________________________________________________

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

    __________________________________________________________

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

  • delete the partition after a failed installation of windows 10

    Hello world

How is it possible to delete partitions, if in disk utility, there is no possibility to click on the '-' key?

So I made a failure (several) attempts to install windows 10 on my new iMAC.

I could download an ISO of windows and start the bootcamp assistant.

In the last attempt of last night, I selected the bootcamp in windows installation partition, however, installing windows said it was impossible to read the hard drive.

I then re-formatted this partition (BOOTCAMP) in the installation of windows, and after that, still could not read.

Then, I deleted the bootcamp partition in windows and re-created a partition on "unallocated space" in the windows installation.

Installing windows 10 still wouldn't move forward then I've bailed out and went back to OS X with the hope of turning it back on (again) by deleting partitions.

I was unable to delete the Mac partition.

Then, I deleted this partition (the one original bootcamp) and reformatted as OS x journaled. At least now, I can see the Partition.

However in Diskutil, I was then impossible to delete this Partition. There is also a small partition 16 MB that cannot be erased.

Wizard bootcamp will be past a pop up station: the startup disk cannot be partitioned or restored to a single partition.

So I will now try to delete these partitions (the boy and the training camp original one) merge into the original and give then installing bootcamp, another go when I have a lot of energy!

any help would be appreciated. I'm a little cautious to use Terminal command lines for fear of ruining my new computer.

    concerning

    Evan

    1. your iMac has a Fusion drive?

    2. don't mix to disk utility and Wizard of BC. They can lead to a host of issues.

    3. If you do not typos in the Terminal, they provide much more rich in detail. You have a Time Machine backup, put in place?

4 can you post the output of the following Terminal commands?

    diskutil list

    Cs diskutil list

    sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0

    sudo fdisk/dev/disk0

The "sudo" commands will prompt to enter your password, and there do not appear to come back. You can also see caution against improper use 'sudo' and the potential loss of data due to an "abuse" of the order.

  • Installation of Windows 7 on the second laptop

first post so please bear with me.

my Dell Studio 1558 running windows-7 recently deceased.  the motherboard somehow got fried.  I pulled the laptop hard disk on and recycled.  a friend gave me his old inspiron from dell (under Vista).  It is slow and freezes a lot when surfing the internet.

recently, I remembered that I have a "reinstallation DVD' for windows 7 that came with my (now deceased) Studio 1558.

I was wondering if I can replace (legally) of Vista with Windows 7?  I want to do a clean install, wipe everything off the Inspiron portable computer, and load Windows-7.

I ran a diagnosis and the Inspiron can run Windows 7.

I suppose that if I try to install windows-7, I asked for some kind of activation key (which I did not).  as my old laptop is dead and buried, is there someone or somewhere I can reach out where they can give me activation key because I really only run a version of the OS?

one last note: I still have the old hard disk of death studio 1558 - I could exploit that somehow?

hope I posted this in the right forum, thank you

    LouNYC

Legally, the key was put on a sticker at the bottom of your Studio 1558 and is approved only for this laptop.  If you still had the key, could you transfer it on your computer 'new '? technically, Yes, but with Microsoft EULA changing all the time I don't know if its "legal", I had a key on an old computer and I transferred to a newer computer when the old man died and everything was fine.  The Microsoft Police did not stop for me or anything.

Long story short the biggest problem is anyway, that if you trashed the laptop with the key on there is no way to recover it.

  • Problem with the new installation of Windows XP on the Satellite A100-259

    Hi all!

I have a problem with the fresh install WIN XP on Satellite A100-259 (PSAA2E).
I already deleted the partition, formatted (NTFS) and tried to reinstall from recovery disk that initially provided with the laptop. But whenever I try to install a problem is detected (for the most part it's 'page in the nonpaged area failure').

I also tried to install the OS directly from MS Windows XP Home Edition SP2 CD - the same problem.
I checked the partition using PQ Magic and discovered that there are ' partition table error #110 ".» So, what I did:

    (1) delete partition-> create new partition-> format (NTFS)-> reinstall from recovery disk-> has not yet;
    (2) partition delete-> install WinXP CD original by create and format partition option-> has not yet;
    (3) delete the partition (using the magic of pq)-> create partition (using the magic of pq)-> format NTFS partition for win xp option-> check partition-OK no problems don't-> installation of original win XP CD-installation without changes-> option failed even once
    (4) delete the partition (pq magic)-> create partition (pq magic)-> format NTFS partition for win xp option-> check partition-OK, no problem-> installation of the recovery disc-> has not yet

Whenever a different error is detected, so I can't identify the problem. I don't know what to do. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hello

Seems that there are some problems with the standards of the partitions.
A friend of mine has tried to install the OS on the recovery CD on the laptop that has been formatted with Partitions Magic 8 and the installation failed.
    It was very strange

Finally, we have formatted the whole HARD drive using the CD original Windows XP Pro.
We did not remove the partition but simply kicked this CD and after the configuration process spent, we formatted the whole HARD disk and install XP without creating all the partitions.

    > I am trying to reinstall Windows ME on my S1800. It formats the computer and when the installation is gona start. It stops just before she even coms to 1% and it failure f3d know?

You n t do anything wrong.
Maybe your CD is scratched or there is a problem with your HARD drive and so the installation can not produced.
In this case, you would not be able to copy the contents of the CD to the HARD drive.

However, you should check if you could start other discs.
For example a live Linux CD or other window (Win XP) etc.

  • Hard disk failed to keep windows 7 for the new hard drive or SSD

Hi, windows told me recently there is a problem with my hard drive and that I would back up my data to an external storage device, in case it fails, but don't want to backup my files because they aren't important. When I tried to access file Explorer the next day I got the warning my computer froze. I'm not him have not restarted the laptop since then in fear that it could make it more worn, since I may still need it.

I try to order a new hard drive or SSD and won't buy windows 10 because it's expensive. Instead, I want to keep my current operating system, which is windows 7 Home premium, which is preinstalled on my laptop.  I have no recovery disks and I didn't do all the backups at all, but here is a windows 7 product key stuck on the back of the laptop.

I was wondering if I can use the product key to install windows 7 on the new HDD/SSD and if yes, how, I would go to this topic. Also, if I can't do the wrench is it another way (because I may be able to use it yet), because I don't want to have to buy any other OS.

    Specifications:

    Laptop: TOSHIBA Satellite A660

    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

(Let me know if you need more details)

    Thanks for any help.

If you are still able to boot from the Windows 7 Desktop on the current hard drive, try to create a set of recovery disks. See the instructions in the following article:

    https://NeoSmart.NET/wiki/Toshiba-Recovery-disk/#Create_disc_for_Windows_7

After you create the defined recovery disc, close, install the new SSD, then use the updated recovery disk to reinstall Windows 7 on new disk SSD.

You will need 4 blank DVDs.
