Failed to add the network printer

Hello

We have a client that connects to our ERP system to print orders.  They connect through a VPN site-to-site and then access our system through an RDP connection to a server 2008R2 instance.  The printer is a HP LaserJet 4100tn

When I first set up in the spring I was intending to use the easy print with the redirect to printer driver to print orders.  However exceptionally slowly printed orders and I was not able to determine why.  Instead I've implemented their LaserJet as a local printer on our desktop server remotely using a HP LaserJet 4100 Series PCL6 driver.  It worked perfectly, and they have been printing without problem until yesterday.

Yesterday for some reason any printer stopped working.  On our Remote Desktop server, it appeared as grayed out with an exclamation mark above.  I did the following diagnosis:

> They can print from their own local office it
> They changed and turn it on again
> I can ping the printer from our server OK
> I can get on the web interface of the printer OK from our server
> Restart our server remote desktop
> Turn off the Windows Firewall on the Remote Desktop server

I therefore decided to remove the printer and add it again.  I go through the configuration wizard Windows printer usual choosing to do a new TCP/IP port, but when I put the IP address of the printer in Windows says that it is not the printer on the network (photo attached).

I tried to delete the printer port which has been associated with this printer and remove the driver but Windows still won't "see" the printer.

I am able to configure this printer on other servers from RD (2003 and 2008) and I also tried setting up on an old XP box, I had to hang out without problem.  Curiously, it seems only that this server is the only one that I can not set up the new even if it can ping the printer OK.

I found a troubleshooting printer HP hereWeb page but who was no help, and the software does not work on Windows Server versions.

Don't know what to do next!

This was solved by changing the IP address of the printer

After changing the IP address, I was able to add the printer to the server OK.

I wasn't able to find out why this is the case, but guess it is some incorrect IP or the information stored in the registry.

When you add the printer network TCP/IP port option is not in the drop-down list

The TCP/IP port selection will not be on "Add a network printer" it will be on "add a local printer.  You want to feed the printer directly.  In the printers and Faxes folder, click on 'Add printer' > next.  Select "local printer attached to this computer.  Do not check "automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer."  Click Next.  Select "Create a new port" and choose "Standatd TCP/IP Port" in the menu drop-down.  Click Next, click Next again (in the "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port" Wizard), enter the printer's TCP/IP address, click Next, and then finish.  You return to the add a Printer Wizard.  Select the driver, and then complete the wizard. • How to add a network printer?

How can I add a network printer?

The printer has a wired connection to a router.  Its local IP address is 192.168.1.105.  The name of the printer is NPI64867B.

My laptop has a wireless connection to the same router.  Of course, access to the network works fine, since I can submit this announcement.  Also, I can ping the IP address of the printer from the laptop.

I have in the control panel printers, click Add printer, select "A network printer", select "Browse for printer", then click Next.  The following text is displayed:

Note that NPI64867B does not appear in the list "shared printers.  Does?

If I manually enter NPI64867B in the box of the printer and click Next (which should work?), I get the following error:

If it's important, I have another printer in network configured on the computer.  It's for another domestic network, so it is not connected now.  The name of the printer is NPI6AAA13.  I deselected the option 'Always print to this device, even if its IP address changes', nothing helps.

The port of the existing network printer name is the name of the printer, HPLaserJet200colorMFPM276nw product.  The printer I am trying to add has the same product name.  Is this a problem?  If so, can I change the name of an arbitrary name (currently unused) pre-existing port?

    Do this way:

    1. Open Printers and faxes
    2. Click on add a printer
    3. Click "Next", select "local printer" and make sure the box "Automatically detect my printer Plug-and-Play" is NOT checked
    4. Click "Next", select "create a new port", then select "Standard TCP/IP port" in the drop-down list (Note - If the printer that you are adding is an HP printer and if the drop-down list includes "HP Standard TCP/IP Port" select that instead; more details later)
    5. Click 'Next' in the standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard Welcome screen
    6. For "printer name or IP address" type 192.168.1.105; the "Name of Port" box is filled in automatically, but you can change it to something more useful, like Office LaserJet or a printer room bedroom, etc..
    7. Before you click 'Next', confirm that the printer is turned on
    8. Click 'Finish' to complete her Add Port Wizard and return to the add a Printer Wizard
    9. Select your model and the manufacturer of the printer and the wizard

A very common problem with the printers on a network that are left at the default setting for automatically an IP address is that they have a different IP address by the DHCP server on the router if the printer is turned off for a period of time.  The Windows printing system does not detect IP address changes, and therefore the communication with the printer is lost.  'HP Standard TCP/IP Port' has the ability to detect the printer, even if its IP address changes.  You should definitely select this option or - and this is the best practice - assign a static IP address for printers all in network.

  • Add a network printer by using different credentials in Windows Vista Home Premium

    Hello

I am trying to add a shared network printer (from server) of a computer running Windows Vista Edition Home Premium. The user must authenticate by using different credentials, but I can't find a way to force Vista to connect with different credentials.
In Windows 7, it's easy, I just add an entry in the credentials manager and everything works, I can connect to the server, access to all of the actions that the user has access to and add the printer.
In Windows Vista, I can't do that. "" If I try to add a network of credentials in the "stored user names and passwords", I can only add a "a Web site or program identification information. "A credential to Windows logon" is greyed out.
When I try to access the share in Windows Explorer, I get an access denied. Instead of having Windows pop up a dialog to authenticate, he tries just to the help of the currently connected user credentails, which isn't what I want.
If I try to add the printer using the Add Printer Wizard-> add a network printer, when I enter the path to the printer, I also have an access denied instead of bring up a Windows authentication dialog box.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thank you!

  • HP3070 analysis via the USB port, but don't scan the network, printing is ok? Used to work, but no more

MyHP3070 deskjet will scan and print via USB link, but don't scan the network, printing is authorized via netowrk. Used to work but not anymor. I have windows XP laptop. I tried HP doctor but in vain. It says that it cannot connect with the driver. Tried to uninstall and reinstall from the CD and also downloaded driver via HP web page but does not. Any ideas what to try next? Also have Norton 360 software virsus and tried extinction of firewalls, etc., but it doesn't seem to help. What is confusing, is that it is used to work but now is intermittened, it won't work at all.

I managed to uninstall with REVO Uninstaller. This removed the driver original from the Add/REMOVE program possibly a result.  This then allowed me to install the driver that you recommended to your link above. I ran out of time yesterday to test if the printer has worked with the new download, so I'll have to try again later today to see if it works. I would grab with result.

  • Printing from laptop to the network printer.

I nave an ACER laptop with Vista Home basic and try to print using the printer network HP Photosmart 3310, which works well with other computers without any cable connection, including a desktop computer Dell with Windows XL as well as another laptop.  I installed the printer and its name is displayed when I click on print on a paper, but nothing happens.  I tried using Windows online, but the number of product was not recognized for some reason any.

If you have installed the correct Vista drivers for the printer? If so, then add the printer differently.

Control Panel > printers > add printer. Add a local printer. New port > TCP/IP Standard (next). The TCP/IP Wizard starts. Use the IP address of the network printer and follow the instructions in the wizard. You will be able to select the printer mftr. / model. Your printer should be here since you have installed the drivers. Complete the wizard. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • Impossible to install the new printer, Pixma MG5320 without error "setting up the network printer down.

I have a new all-in-one Canon Pixma MG5320. I am unable to get the installer to finish with on "setting up the network printer down." Despite numerous attempts to:

    (1) download the driver on the internet instead of the installation CD.
    2) with the help of msconfig with selective startup and disabled all programs except Microsoft.
    (3) creates the new administrator account and returned through it all.
    (4) turned off firewall and anti-virus
The error is compatible and I never have the unit set up under devices and printers. The installation is carried out without any errors marked and you will see the error if you get into the details of setting up and get him. The computer sees the printer when it finds and he answers. The printer and the router, both seem to be communicating correctly. Repair auto and troubleshooting programs I ran as fix - it do not detect errors. The printer works fine through a USB cable. I don't want to continue to use USB because that's why I wanted to go wireless. I'm sure that I forget some of the things I went through in my attempts to get this working. Anyone with any ideas or know what's going on please help.
Tech of Cannon was very knowledgeable and says he sees this once a month. He believes that some program interferes with the installation process. I do thanks in advance. Nice day.

  • WS-Security and proxy service: failed to add the identity security token

What the reason of 'Unable to add the identity security token' fault in this situation (10.3.1):

You are the WS-Policy liaison to the entire operation or only for the query part of the operation. If you link the WS-Policy for the operation, the policy applies as well to the request and response. If the response message also contains the WSSE headers with a name of user and password invalid. You can check this?
