Family Vista premium HP dv6646us sleeps forever

Hello

When I put the dv6646us laptop computer in mode 'sleep' laptop power button flashes. After a while when I try to activate by pressing the builtin mouse pad or any key, the power button continues to blink, but the laptop does not like it should with all active programs. It seems I have to wait until the battery is discharged is about 8 hours. Now the laptop power button turns off completely. When I start the computer after you press the laptop power button the laptop starts as if I shut down the computer earlier and start again. Sometimes he gives the options 'Windows to start normally.
Point to note: the battery is in poor condition according to HP diagnostics. I feel that we should not get this problem.
