Fan start after stopping

The fan in my office starts immediately after the stop and the only way I can stop it is to hold down the power button for several seconds.  I checked the BIOS is updated.  I don't know what to try now.  Can anyone help?

Sure! BIOS stands for Basic Input Output System. It's very low level software that controls the hardware, outside of Windows. You can do things in the BIOS as change the order of starting, say, if you want to load an operating system from a DVD or USB. In some versions of BIOS, there is an option to change the settings of the General fan.

You can find your current version of BIOS by

1. click on the Start button

2 type 'System Info' and then click on system information

3. look on the right side, halfway. You will see ' Version of the BIOS/Date '.

4. If the version number is less than 6.12, download the latest version from the link below.

BIOS version 6.12

After some research, it seems that it is perhaps a motherboard problem or a power supply problem or a combination of both. If you don't have additional power supply of the same power laying around, you could take it to a local repair shop where they will have a power supply Tester and an additional power supply to swap with tests.

    Hello

Sorry for my English, I'm French, I have a Toshiba Satellite C660 laptop a few days ago and I noticed that the fan starts and stops every minute at any time when the temperature exceeds about 40 degrees (noted with SpeedFan).
Even if I'm just the desktop, the Internet. However, it does not heat up much. Is this normal?

Before I had a laptop and the fan stops, but almost never had low-noise. I prefer it, but it's can be a simple matter of habit for the Toshiba...?

    Hello

Try it please change cooling method option in the advanced power settings.

Open power options > n a click your power profile that you use > choose the advanced power options > Toshiba Power Saver Settings > cooling method > change two optimized battery options.

I think that this will reduce fan activity.

    Please test and send feedback.

  • The speakers click when the fan starts and stops Equium A100-147

I recently bought the 100-147 satellite and noticed that a click comes from the speakers (or headphones or external speakers) when the fan starts up and even when the fan stops. Sometimes it s quite remarkable, other times not so remarkable.

Everyone can hear that click? If it's normal, I can live with that, otherwise I will return it for repair. Any comment please?

In addition, it seems slow at startup and shut down. Put into service takes 2 minutes and 35 seconds, and stop to 33 seconds. Is this normal bearing in mind, it is running MCE? I have loaded additional software such as Itunes, Nero, Office 2000, Photoshop 5.0 etc.

    Thank you for reading.

Clicking noise when the fan starts or stops turning is not uncommon. On my satellite a similar sound will appear when the fans begin to turn or the HARD disk starts to spin.
Then worry about don t, I think its OK.

The start-up procedure can take several times when a lot of applications and software to load at the beginning. Equium A100 seems to be one of the newer laptops, and I assume that different applications Toshiba load at the beginning.
Also an Antivirus applications could extend the startup procedure.

You might try testing something. Disable the antivirus of loading at the beginning and check if the laptop will start faster.

It s even with stops. All background processes that are run in the context of the operating system should be closed until the laptop shuts down completely.

  • Satellite A110-180 - fan starts but stops after a few seconds

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite A110-180 and when I turn on the computer, the fan turns on but it stops in a few seconds and starts again in a while and stops again and starts... Then the laptop gets heat quickly.

I bought the laptop about 5 years ago, so I think the problem is the fan or the circuit that controls the fan. Can someone who has had the same problem make sure that the fan is the problem?

The fan part number is ATZHG000500. Does anyone know if a fan with P/N ATZHG000100 is compatible with my laptop, or if I can use another fan?

    Thanks for your help,

    Hey Wiley,

First of all it of normal that the fan starts and after a few seconds, or 1 minute stops. Depending on the programs you run again the departure of fan after a few seconds or minutes. So, theoretically, it of normal what is happening.

But if your laptop is almost 5 years old, you should try to clean. So I can recommend jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans. It is very cheap but very useful.
    Check it!

In addition, I think that the thermal paste should be renewed a technicians authorized laptop can help you and answer if the other fan part number fits in your laptop. :)

Brand new Probook s 4540, B7A48EA #BED, of the box. Memory 4 GB DDR3, 500 GB, processor i3, SUSE Linux disk.

I have install the battery, connect the power supply and turn on laptop. Linux installation started, got the message 'creating recovery root tarball' and wait, wait and wait with the same message of Linux. I rebooted the laptop and after that got Linux message 'Cannot find size info part of recovery' and restarted itself, every 120 seconds.

I turned it off, by pressing the power button / stop 5 sec.

After that, I can't turn on laptop. When I press the power button / stop, power, drive, browser and Flash of LED wireless, you can hear disc trying to turn but fail and all the lights go out and about 2 seconds later all lights flash once again, drive tries to spin but fail again and laptop does not start.

I have 'power reset', updated the BIOS (F.40), removed the drive and DVD drives, tried without battery but no change in behavior. I returned the drive and the original DVD. After removing the memory, portable lights, as if, and caps lock flashing of LED 3 times which means error memory. After that, I did a "reset power" once again, reinstall memory and try to start the laptop. After pressing the power button / stop at the beginning I had same symptoms I described, and after 2 portable seconds began. I installed Windows 7 Pro. Laptop computer can be restarted Windows, but after stopping, he can't press start button to start / stop.

One way to start is to move the memory in the other slot, but it cannot start after his stop. After his return in the first memory location can be started again until the next stop. And when start, does not start from the beginning, but after 2 seconds, for his second try. The BIOS memory test, the EFI system diagnostic and memtest86 has errors. I tried with different memory module but got the same symptoms.

    Should I change a motherboard?

After replacing the motherboard (systemboard), everything works.

  • Help, please! Aspire E5-511-P4LN takes at least 30 minutes for it to start after stop down

Help, please!  I have an Acer Aspire E 15 (E5-511-P4LN) that I bought online at HSN last September, 2014.  I'm not really sure what happened past.  On the morning of April 10, 2015, I had downloaded the Wakfu game in my computer.  I played the game for two hours, then turned off my laptop around 14:30.  The same day in the night, about 9:30 pm, I started my laptop, but the monitor was blocked to the Acer Logo at least a half hour!  I thought that it must have the game I've downloaded so before going to bed I hibernated just my computer.  When I woke up the next day, it took my computer at least 15 minutes at the start of Hibernation!  Once he showed me the splash screen, there is no problem with the computer's performance.  in any case, I uninstalled Wakfu of my computer when I finally got in my computer.  I even downloaded CCleaner and used clean the registry.  However, today, April 12, 2015, when I started my computer, he remained on the Acer Logo for at least thirty minutes before taking me to the splash screen!  It's just too.  I don't know what else to do.

    strange question.

the 'fastest' solution will involve a backup of your data and a reinstall of windows.

If you don't mind not to do, turn off your laptop and turn it on by pressing ALT + F10 to launch Acer erecovery process.

If she starts always slowly, we try to limit the question on a clean system.

  • ESXi Server does not start after stopping

I installed ESXi 3.5.0 Update 4 and it worked fine, but when I stop I get a black screen that says SYSLINUX 3.50 0x4625dbde EBIOSBoot error.

    What I have:

ASUS M2NBP - VM CSM motherboard

    4 GB memory critical

    AMD X 2 AM2 5000 processor

    160 GB WD HD

ESXi runs great until I reboot or shutdown, then I have nothing.

I guess the SYSLINUX bootloader is up again. I used to use Dban boot and nuke to erase a disc where some other OS was hung the boot sector

    http://www.DBAN.org/

Burn the ISO on a bootable CD your ESXi host with this CD and run the autonuke, you just let it run for a few minutes and this drive is clean. Keep in mind that you will not be able to recover all the data.

Then reinstall ESXi and see if the problem persists.

  • Satellite A100-998: Audio of abandonment/glitch when CPU fan starts / stops

Hi, I have had some problems with my streaming audio, as well as the inputs and outputs. I have read several posts on these forums of users who have the same problems, but the positions were closed without a resolution on an appropriate fix. These posts are also more than 1 year.

The problem is that I'm an audio glitch when the cpu fan starts and stops. I updated to the latest version of the bios and installed all the latest audio, display and network drivers. and the problem is still there.

I was my latency of the surveillance system and stop systematically various devices to try to locate the cause, but the problem still persists.

Previous discussions of the forum on this subject suggest we find a solution by changing drivers processor ACPI to standard PC that will, among other undesirable things, keep the fan on constantly elimiating the seeds. I think that this is not an appropriate solution.

As all other forum threads have been closed for more than a year, can anyone help me with a solution to this problem.

    Thank you.

    > Previous discussions of the forum on this subject suggest we find a solution by changing drivers processor ACPI to standard PC that will, among other undesirable things, keep the fan on constantly eliminating glitches. I think that this is not an appropriate solution

As you know, it is only a user forum and you won't encounter technicians Toshiba here. This is why the solutions posted above was provided by individual users and may be true, but who knows if it would satisfy every user unique is only an idea and suggestion.
I think you should communicate with ASP in your country for a notebook check possibly technicians could provide another solution that would suit everyone

    Hello

Believe me; It's not easy to say exactly why the BSOD appears.
It usually happens because of a malfunction or severe software hardware fault.
Have you used the operating system of the image of Toshiba?
Message it says something about sysaudio.sys.
This file is a system audio WDM filter processes and it s a part of the Windows operating system. It controls the material such as the printer or the graphics card at a lower level.

Note: The virus uses these files as a camouflage. You should always use an anti virus application.

In addition, you suggested that the laptop stops after 5 min.
Well, this looks like an overheating problem. How did you use the laptop? You know that free space around the laptop is very important due to the circulation of air. Fans should also be free.

I you use Notepad in the right position and it happen, so I recommend asking for help Toshiba service partner. They should check the laptop.

  • Satellite M40 - 129 stops starting after the Toshiba screen

    Hello
My M40 continues sometimes to start after the Toshiba screen. He stops and all I see is the blinking cursor. No Error Message or something else and normal boot from the HARD drive. Boot from CD (for example. Œuvres of Knoppix). This problem sometimes occurs and traceable for me isn´t.

    Best regards
    Spoony

    Hey Spoony

Unfortunately on this path, it is not easy to say why this is happening. Each user has a specific configuration OS and we don t know how your operating system is configured.

You can boot OS in safe mode? If Yes check what the problem may be a little. If there is anything you can do I recommend you save all your data and preinstall unit using rescue media. If you do this I recommend also to create two partitions.

Don t compare WXP and Linux startup procedure. As you know that Knoppix using just the RAM and no HARD drive for the race.

Original title: xp does not start after the installation of avira

    I have a HP Slimline s7410
    XP Home Edition SP3
I had Norton free with Comcast, but since I have no more Comcast became Norton expired. So I uninstalled Norton and installed the free version of Avira, he scanned the computer and it was clean. I went to reboot and now it does not start.
    I have a cd/dvd drive of work.
I don't have an XP bootable installation CD

My system worked well until: I installed the free version of Avira

Whenever I select one on the XP advanced options options menu start, it goes into a boot loop.
I turn off the auto reboot system failure although it seems only work once, as the next time he's trying to start up it goes into the boot loop.

Here's what my BSOD looks like:

Disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation or backup utilities. Check the configuration of your hard drive and check the updated drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

    Technical information:
    STOP: 0 X 00000024 (0 X 00190203, 0 X 87174270, 0XC0000102, 0X00000000)

Any help is greatly appreciated! :)

My first suggestion is to do a system restore at this time point.

second suggestion is to keep your external drive connected to the pc at all times.  only detach when necessary.   of course, it would be better to install a second hard drive in the computer instead.   in any case, keep your personal files out of the system disk is a wise thing to do.   You can also download and store files for free on the Microsoft Skydrive site.

third suggestion is to keep your system set upward through executing a check disk and Defrag at least once a month.   Basically, you can open the Explorer and right-click on the drive letter.  then select Properties, and on the Tools tab, you will have the opportunity to run the disk check.  then reboot and do a Defrag.   where this disk check fails, then you will need to run it to the drive via a bootable cd prompt.

Interestingly, I don't know if the bootable cd that you made you allows to run the disk check.

so my suggestion is to do a series of tests using your cd bootable your computer works.  see if you can actually run a chkdsk/r at the moment with them.    If Yes, then if your constant worries are having bad sectors on the hard disk, chkdsk/r will identify and mark so windows will jump on them.    in any case, see if your boot at the moment media can run a check disk at all, and let me know.

fifth proposal is to install "microsoft security essentials" like your anti virus program.  even if you have run ubantu, it is not likely to have been an infected copy.   anti - are most critical virus for windows and not not so much for ubantu or linux is because windows is a system of world class operations.    the people who make the virus deliberately their engineer for the windows operating system.   If, however, ubantu and linux have been just as popular as Windows, virus engineers would make infections for the o.s. too.     Although they no doubt, attacks are more frequent for the windows os.
