• Update of first Pro V8.2

  Hi all

  I am a producer/editor of CNN documentary unit and we are running FCP 3 studio and are simply making the leap to CC first Pro V8.2.

  I really like what I've seen so far of these latest versions.

  For my next project, I was asked to use the first to give it a shake down with more than 100 hours of footage and associated media.

  My problem is that I have to do a ton of work from my home studio and upgrade from v8.0 8.2 but I see are options to go directly to 8.3.

  This will not work for me when I get home to CNN, since there is no backward compatibility.

  CNN has no more licenses for v8.2 giving me for domestic use, so it is there a place to get or update to v8.2 just until CNN IT Unit approves 8.3 for use?

  Any help would be greatly appreciated as I start a new doc in 4 days.

• Several errors in Final Cut Studio. I just need to reinstall everything?

  Hi, I was tolerating a lot of mistakes in my Final Cut Studio edition for a while now, but I decided to try to correct them, because they really get in the way, I listed below...

  1. I often get errors of the 'out of memory', especially when rendered. Often I just close Final Cut and re - open, then when I make it works fine. Ideally I would not get the errors at all well. Any suggestions?

  2. I use text in my videos, I often put the date at first. I use some plugin text generators that I love. They worked fine for awhile but lately occasionally text randomly goes into random numbers and letters, see the image below, it was supposed to read "February 2016'...»

  Again, I work around him, I'll usually just replace the text and it works but I had rather not encounter the error at all, please advise.

  3. sometimes, usually while I export with compressor, final cut pro all of a sudden don't stop, no warning or error message, it will be just close itself and I'll lose any work not saved. I work around this problem, but just save often but once again, it's a problem that I could do without. It also blocks the export, I have to start over.

  4. as well as the point above, sometimes the export crashes into the compressor without final assembly crashing at all. It stops just export and he said: General error: 0.

  Also, I have a lot of presets which I don't want to lose in Final Cut Studio, so I wouldn't rather uninstall it but if I have to uninstall, I would like to know what I have to do to keep my presets for example export in compressor settings.

  1. This error can occur if you have formats on the timeline in FCP dislikes, such as H.264 or MP4... basically any codec issue not covered by the program. ALSO... This can happen if you stills that are greater than 4000 pixels.

  3 & 4... I see that you are running OS 10.9.5. The latest OS fully supported for the FCP 7 was 10.6.8. Each version of the OS after that goes further away from support total and complete operability. That being said, I still use FCP 7 on my machine running 10.9.5, but I lost functionality... Motion and Compressor and Qmaster no longer work.   So well here that is the problem with sending to... compressor Compressor 3.5 provided with FCP does not work on 10.9.5.  You will need to get the latest version... but then FCP cannot SEND to compressor with this version, you need to export a file and then compress him.

  I try to install QuickTime 7 Pro using my old number of Final Cut Studio 3 series/disks, and but could not find a way to do this.

  FCS is not installed on my Mac (long since passed to FCP X) but sometimes I miss the QTP features. I have the original DVD set with FCS3, as well as the serial number, but want to activate the QT7 pro feature set without having to install any FCS.

  The installation of FCP unlocks the Pro of QuickTime Player 7 features.

  No other way to do it.

• Replacement of the FCP iChat Theater for first CC

  Hello

  I was wondering if someone from the FCP has experimented with replacements for function iChat Theater of the PCF.  I'm in a company that regularly makes working remotely with clients and it is a feature that we used often with excellent results.

  Currently, without getting any material additional to spread something to a Justin.tv channel (which I had to do with patterns of Avid before), we have cobbled together something together using Google Hangouts on Air studio mode.  It was not large, so we have some testing to do, but I'd like to know what others are doing / have done.

  In addition, for all of you who have used this feature in FCP, please make a feature request to Adobe to add this feature.  Thank you!

• FCP 10.2.3 show buttons do not appear in the TEXT

  It has been on and off for a while. The button "show", modifiers, to the right of the drop shadow, face contour,

  etc., in the TEXT box disappeared. When this has happened before, I will re-start FCP and everything should return to normal.

  The buttons disappear are a problem for Sierra. They are actually there if you know where to put pressure.

• FCP slow?

  Is it possible that an old Mac running 6 FCP can only get tired and slow down? I have a G5 (10.4.11) running FCP 6.0.2.  I have more to use a more recent system now, but I keep it because it is the codec for a few sequences of BetaCam SP that I keep handy, among other things.  I use it mainly for audio work.  Last couple of months, it seems that it is sloooowwwwing down. Do a radio spot and when I hit the space bar to play instead, it stops, and think for a second, then plays very well.  He began to do this on a video production earlier, mostly on things of 1920 x 1080, but now it seems that it does on everything.  Any thoughts on what could be the cause and most importantly, how to fix?

  What is the status of your storage media? You must have fast disks with plenty of free space. Hard drives slow down as soon as you walk through more than 50% capacity.

  I intend to upgrade to the Mavericks, and my question is: move to Logic Studio is any chance to keep all my old loops in Logic Pro and use them with the new version?

  (I have a number of pieces using specific loops and Yes, I know that I can save the loops in the songs but I would not lose my whole library)

• DVD Studio Pro DVD "supported disc not available".

  I am trying to burn a DVD again an already existing DVD Studio, already registered and created the file pro with all the menus related to the video file.  Another company created the DVD Studio pro menu and queue in front of me, I replace the newly edited video and try to burn a DVD with the new video and audio files.

  I compressed the file Compressor 3.5 using the button create DVD in the compressor, I created a file DVD SD Mpeg2, audio and video.  Imported in the pro Studio already created DVD file, I have the burned DVD, but appears to "Support disc not available" when I try to play the DVD on my Imac drive (also not tried in a standard DVD player no chance)... I tried this twice now, the first time that I realized I had created a HD DVD, I also created a separate folder on the external drive as well.  When I click on the DVD that was burned it shows as: HVDVD_TS and no audio file.

  Can you please help me, I watched the video of youtube after another, but I'm not create from scratch, I know not at all unfortunately the program, but I use a DVD already created Studio, file with many menus already linked to the video and don't want to not recreate from scratch... I think this should not be so difficult, and definitely miss me something.

  Keep in mind that a project must reside in an event and an event must reside in a library.

  You can have as many libraries as you want a store them wherever you like (even if you don't save them on a volume of time Machine.

  So start a new project in a new library or in a new event in an existing library to keep things orderly.

  Not sure I understand the part you need a third-party for mini DV application. You shouldn't have anything other than the FCC.

  Hi guys,.

  Has anyone ever published a radio / audio that play on FCP 7?

  If I had all the necessary files - the dialogue, sound effects etc - it would be possible to just use the audio tracks on FCP and reconstruct a play?

  I know I could use Soundtrack but I have no experience at all with this software, so I was wondering if FCP could be used.

  I'm sure that it's done, and I'm sure you can - but - that's a good opportunity to learn Soundtrack and enjoy software specially designed for the task at hand?

  A suggestion - if you are using FCP-7, then place a slug of black on the video track which is the duration of the production so that the FCP has always a video reference to lock in.

  You need to rip a DVD? Try MPEG Streamclip or brake hand. Both free. Streamclip better, but much more complicated to install and use.

• WD Passport Studio permissions on custom and cannot be changed

  I have a drive hard 2 TB WD Passport Studio external for backup purposes. I set the permissions using a MacBook Pro I have more have and am not able to access my backups and files with my new MacBook Pro. How to reset the permissions so I can access? I tried to use check and fix permissions in Yosemite (v10.9.5), but they are grey... Help! don't want to lose my photos and home movies. It is a journaled HFS Volume and disk check and repair show no problem. Help!

  Thank you for reaching out to the Community Support from Apple. I know how it is important to keep your files and photos and I will do everything I can to help. What I would recommend here, do a right click on the drive of your Finder and selecting "Get Info" here you should be able to enter the user name and password to unlock the drive and access your data.
