Files on a temporary profile

If I put the files on a temporary profile and I shut down the computer for the night, I lost these files? I was frustrated and confused when I tried to upgrade to 8.1 Windows and it has failed. I didn't know that I was on a temporary profile until I started again this morning. I put the files on the office yesterday, but I can't find the same way.

Am I out of luck?

Hello

Unfortunately, the files work while using the temporary profile is no longer available once you have signed out of this profile. You can solve this problem using the way mentioned here:

Hope this helps, good luck :)

    Hello

My user profile has been corrupted and I was assigned temporary. A few important files have been cut and pasted the office over the weekend, and after you restart the computer my file went because I was assigned to another temporary profile. Where can I find the folder on my computer or has been permanently deleted by the system?

Also, when renaming a user Windows XP folder creates a new folder of user the name of the connection, rather Windows 7 redirects users to the TEMP folder and kills the data after a reboot. It is a design flaw. Where are my data now?

  • Why do I get a message temporary profile w / no access to my files, & how to fix it?

Whenever I try to open a session (for all users) I get a message that I am connected to a temporary profile and can't access or save all files. The suggestion to disconnect & try to connect later worked again (for about 100 connections later, anyway). I don't understand something in the event log (as was also suggested) & I have tried a system restore, but the first available for restore date was after the problems started. I fear that all my pictures and my music files are gone forever. BTW, I learned my lesson - everything will be saved on a USB in the future - but I need help now. Any suggestions?

It seems that the latest version of your account is be corrupted again and again.

    • It could have been a recent update that ruined your account profile.
    • You may accidentally set something in a browser - or a profile that has corrupted the configurations of your account.
    • It could just be a corrupted file in your account that cannot be deleted.

The following can help, if there is not something IN the account which is the origin of corruption.

The answer above is actually a part of a group more important answers grouped in a Post on the Microsoft response Page: temporary profile after updating to Windows 7

Try restoring the system to "return to a date and time" when all this worked:

Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)

Restore Windows to an earlier Point (Windows 7

    For later

One of the things that you might consider for that and for any computer you have in your home network:

    • Keep an additional account on the computer with administrator privileges.
    • Do not use the account.
    • Do not "add things" about the account, including additional browsers, the shortcuts that are not part of the standard operating system, and do not use the account for program facilities.
    • Do NOT set the account with a fingerprint Reader.
    • Do NOT set the account with any other additional security that the VERY GOOD password that you give the account when you create it.
    • Don't create fancy settings in the account, do not change the "customization", or other settings that alter the fundamental nature of the account.
    • Journal to the account on the occasion of being sure that have access to the account.

    Why have the extra account?

    It is insurance.

This happens if you have a corrupt user profile.  Windows detects this and log in with a temporary profile.  Whatever you do, do not save all the data of your temporary profile as it will be deleted when you close.  You will probably find all your files from your profile missing in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\Utilisateur\Mes Documents.

Recovery of a corrupted user profile is not too difficult.  Follow the instructions in one of the following articles:

  • My computer was working fine and then when I turn it back on I am connected under a temporary profile what do I do to fix this?

Today while I was in class, my computer has started very well and I was able to work on it as usual. When the class was done, I saved my job and turn the computer off. Not even 10-15 minutes later, I turn on my computer turn it on again to finish my job and it takes ages to start. When that finally happens, it connects me under a temporary profile. None of my school work, photos, music or whatever it is is nowhere to be found. I tried to do the repair option that is offered with the starting system normally and nothing. I also tried the system restore twice at an earlier date and its doesn't work simply do not. Recommendations on how to do, and if my files can be saved? The photos I mean a lot to me and I have midterms and all my work is saved on my profile = - /... Ouch!

To avoid problems of access to the file:

    1. in safe mode, copy the files into the documents, pictures and music in C:\Users\Public folders.
    2. Enter the new profile in normal mode and move public folders files in folders of your new profile.

  • Is connected with the temporary profile

Windows keeps connect me with a temporary profile, only on my account not the other two, I want to just access my files, the links using microsoft in other issues do not work and if I create a new user who logs with a profile temporary, just also want to know how I can access my files so I can get out them of this user account

THESE LINKS I TRIED BEFORE DO NOT WORK:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/811151/en-us
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/555473

    Thank you.

    Hi Alisha,

You said that didn't happen on your account and not the other two. And you said you tried these links, I hope you don't delete all users according to the instructions...

in any case, you can easily have access to your files on the account that you have trouble accessing via two other accounts work. Navigate to C:\documents and settings\ this folder contains all the user profiles and all the documents and the data is stored in the profile folder name. Find the folder with the name of your account on it and inside you will find all the documents, Favorites, etc.

To get to C:\documents and settings\ open my computer, double-click the drive that you installed Windows, and Documents and Settings will be a folder you will see in the beginning of the hard disk.

Restore backups.  You do not compatible external backups and persistent of the files and folders that are important to you than losing them would ruin at least a few minutes of your day?

Not to mention step 1 of the first link, you said that you have followed...

    1. back up whatever it is that you do not want to lose in the profile folder of theC:\Users\(user-name) of this user account, If the profile folder still exists, to another location, and then delete the profile(user name) folder.

Now - if in the first step you did that C:\Users\(your old username) doesn't exist anymore - I refer back to my first statement "backup."  He had disappeared before.

In addition - something like Recuva * could * find something--unlikely if... especially given the duration of the use of the system has obtained from erasure.
