Firefox crashes on opening. Signature of Crash: nsTextBoxFrame::GetTextSize (nsPresContext *, nsIRenderingContext &;, nsString const &;, nsSize &;, int &;)
Firefox does not open. I get an instant crash report. Even in safe mode.
I completely uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled. I have run the check to make sure that all add ons are up-to-date. I did check for backdoor virus.
I'm on Windows Vista 64-bit. He worked on this laptop for a year, until the minute he doesn't. I had not installed anything new.
Help, please! I hate the Explorer and want my Mozilla back!

Heather, not sure I can help, I'm not a Mac user, but I'll have a look at the crashIDs that you provided.
Update:
- Crash report ID: [6326058f-1fca-4d4d-a080-af8902120119]
- signature: TFont::CreateFontEntitiesForFile (const char *, bool, TSimpleArray < TFont * > &, bool, short, char const *)
- Crash report ID: [69534b6f-7662-4c09-bf2e-39fff2120104] signature as above
There are very few reports recent crash with this signature, they could even be your plant. If you follow the suggestions in the article I linked above there is not much that can be done easily. You should try discount the possibility that the cause is malware by scanning with several updated tools.
Malware controls
Have you seen and followed the advice- Fix Firefox problems caused by malicious software
- the first step trying to detect malware, a typical suggestion is this message from the-edmeister /questions/914980 #answer - 302372
Clean reinstall it
If you find no malware, it can be interesting to try a new re - install and a clean profile, none of them are simple and must be done with care, so first try malware scans, those who will take a while to sort.Rather a last resort: fill out a bug report
If you are ready to try to answer the inevitable questions and have an email account anonymous, that you can use for recording, you can follow the link from the report above and click on 'report' to create a bug report on the crash. - Crash report ID: [6326058f-1fca-4d4d-a080-af8902120119]

Everytime I open Firefox I get a message: "an attempt to change your home page has been blocked" and firefox crashes.
I unintalled (on my MAC) and reinstalled twice. Makes no difference. Any suggestions?Could you try starting Firefox in Safe Mode? It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.
Does not work if Firefox: Hold down the option key when starting Firefox.
If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:
- button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
- Help menu > restart with disabled modules
and OK reboot.
Two scenarios: A small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not update).
Any improvement?
While you are in Mode without failure, you could copy a list of your extensions and paste them into an answer? The best place for this is the support information page - either:
- button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
- (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
- type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter
Scroll down to the Extensions section, and then select from there until the end of the following table with the mouse and copy. Then paste into a response. It may seem a bit messy but don't worry, we're used to it.
In addition, if you check your homepage settings, he changed? This article explains where to find that page preferences: start-up, homepage, tabs and download settings.

Firefox crashes when you open a blank tab
Only in the last day, I started having problems with Firefox crashing. In the first hour, the problem only seemed to happen when I went to some websites, such as Gmail or YouTube.
Now, however, Firefox will crash as soon as I open a new empty tab. I am able to start Firefox, and it will show the page to "re-establish the Session. I can use the menu to open, for example, on: supports, but as soon as I do CMD + T to open a new tab, Firefox will crash.

Firefox crashes or freezes when opened. Help, please!
My firefox does not open. I have been using Firefox without problems for years until yesterday. I have a Mac OS X 10.10.3. Whenever I open Firefox, it immediately crashes or freezes. I have to go to my dock to "force quit" Firefox. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the latest version of Firefox 38.0.1 several times and no luck. I tried to start Firefox in "safe mode" and as soon as my default screen opens (Yahoo.com) and when I click on anything, whether it's freezing immediately again.
I'm not able to get Firefox open enough before it freezes to be able to go to 'preferences' to try to change or remove cookies or anything else.
Also, I had hundreds of bookmarks, when I get Firefox and running, is there a way to recover these bookmarks?
Currently, I am forced to use Safari which is horrible. Help, please!
Thank you

Is there another way to fix the FF on my main account on my computer instead of having to switch everything to another account?
You do not create another account on the computer. You're doing a
new user of Firefox with your own user account profile. Firefox may have
many profiles under the same user account. -
Firefox crashes when I opened my fifth (or several) tab
I usually kept on 3-4 tabs open and when I click to open a new tab with a specific page, a link to a Google search, either Pandora or a link to another site, Firefox crashes (although Google seems to open correctly every time). I have the 37.0.2 version.
Report of recent incidents: https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/9e1774db-98f1-432b-b06e-ad68c2150421
Thank you user293. I tried various suggestions there, and none seemed to work well that delete my cache and cookies helped temporarily. Then I realized that I had not turned off my computer in days, I turned off for the night and everything seems to work fine now (I feel like a jerk, believe me). Thanks again.

Firefox crashes after I open a new tab
Hello
My Firefox crashes whenever I open a new tab (empty). The same phenomenon occurs in safe mode. Here are links to some of the latest crash reports:https://crash-stats.Mozilla.com/report/index/f0fce577-b53e-44BF-a8fa-f7a802150406

https://crash-stats.Mozilla.com/report/index/dc577bdc-adb4-47b9-9a0e-096442150406What could be wrong?
Thank you.You might try using a new profile. It might be hard to go at least a whole day without your pets addons, bookmarks, and history... the bookmarks are fairly easy to copy.
Create a new Firefox profile
This is in addition and does not replace your existing settings.
A new profile will be your plugins installed by system (for example, Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions or other customizations. It should also come with fresh data bases of completely fresh settings and a cache folder.
Out of Firefox and start in the profile using Start Manager > Search box (or run) - type or paste the following and press ENTER:
firefox.exe -P
Do not delete anything here.
Any time want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog box.
Click on the button to create a profile, assign a name like April8 and ignore the possibility of changing the location of the folder. Then launch Firefox in the new profile that you have created.
It might take some time to determine if the new profile works better than the old. If you want to import your Favorites from your regular profile in the meantime, here's how:
You can use the dialog library (Ctrl + Shift + b or "Show all bookmarks") to access the restore feature. The trick is to know where to find your bookmark backups in your regular profile. After clicking on file... you can paste this into the space of file name and press ENTER to drill down to your profile folders:
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
The semi-randomly-named folder that has your last backup is generally the one that ends with "failure". Click in that one, and then in the folder bookmarkbackups . Here you can choose the most recently updated to restore file.
Important: restoring a backup bookmark clears all bookmarks currently in your current Firefox profile and replaces it with the contents of the backup file.
In my view, it is also reasonable to install AdBlock Plus, Restorer of classic theme, and Status4Evar, like those who, by themselves, are not likely to be at the origin of this apparently rare problem. But I wouldn't add all your extensions to the time in the new profile, and if many show extensions system installed, you can disable those you don't actually use.

OK, so this I've not exactly "resolved" the issue, but I have a solution. I dropped Firefox and installed Firefox developer edition instead:

How can I fix Firefox crashing whenever I have many tabs open?
I'll try to keep this short. I'm used to be a Firefox user for a long time... as he was released from first. I've always had problems with it crashing when given the many tabs open. I could not take more and jumped ship. After a brief period using Chrome, I decided to install the 31 version and try again.
I still have the same exact questions. The problem has persisted through generations of computer with the increase in power and memory.
Currently I am running an i7 4770 k with 32 GB of RAM and a GTX 770, SSD, etc.. I just installed Firefox yesterday after fed up with Chrome and some of its questions. Firefox crashed at about 6 - 10 times since then.
I'm a heavy browser. I have normally accumulate tons of tabs open, more than 100 + tabs open at the same time (maybe more, I've never counted). I understand that this may use a lot of memory, but I have a ton of memory. My use of the system does not exceed 30% never, but Firefox crashes regularly. I'm actually a little surprised that it seems worse now that she has never in the past. It crashes, I restore and it will crash again in 5 minutes. I don't have any add-ons installed. I had Ad Block Plus briefly installed, but I uninstalled that, once these accidents have begun.
What is Firefox, no Add-ons, no extra charges, nothing else to change its performance. It crashes constantly. It is perhaps just the last attempt before I'll look elsewhere.
Hello, Yes, it looks like an accident of lack of memory (probably due to many tabs open). you could try a port 64-bit firefox who will be able to use all of the available memory: https://www.waterfoxproject.org/

Firefox crashes, or a page block upward, so I close the browser (sometimes have to close it by the Task Manager. When I try to re - open firefox, need me to pages that just crashed, rather than my home page.
Windows XP SP3, P4 3.4Ghz
Yes, it's normal. You want to disable that? There are a couple of settings related to resume your previous session after a crash:
(A) resume automatically, but if Firefox crashes twice in a row, displays a list of windows and tabs and let me choose. (default)
(B) does not resume automatically, always show the list of windows and tabs and let me choose; (I recommend this approach) or
(C) never automatically resume and do not display the list.Switching to B or C requires a visit to Firefox about: config preferences editor.
(1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.
(2) in the search above the list box, type or paste sess and make a pause so that the list is filtered
For "B":
Double-click the browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes preference from 1 to 0 (that's a zero).
For "C":
Double-click on browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash preference to change its value from true to false.

Firefox crashes whenever I open a vine
Hello
Whenever I try to open a web page that has a video to vineyard inside, firefox crashes. This happens every time. Same opening http://www.vine.co will crash firefox. I noticed the same thing with this website www.flashscore.com, whenever a team scores, firefox crashes. I tried to start firefox in safe mode, I even did a uninstall complete and reinstalled, same thing. I really don't want to use a different browser. Your help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
Hello disappear, what kind of sound card do you use? Mozilla developers are working on a fix for some models that hang on some content audio html5, which should already be present in firefox nightly - for more details you can also check the #970147 bug.
In addition to what has been said here, you can try to disable sounds "improvements" in the properties of the windows device speaker as a temporary workaround...
