• Search for "highlight search results' tab of localized WebHelp shows wrong characters (RoboHelp 9)

  I tested it with several WebHelp skins, including the default value and in French and German.  The text "Highlight search results" in the Find tab in WebHelp poster this for Spanish: 'Como resultados of the Baºsqueda' and for the French: «Highlight search results»  I found on some other posts that this is controlled by this file in the output: whfform.htm.  I edited the following line in this file (gsHiliteSearchTitle = "Como resultados of the Baºsqueda"), and the WebHelp is displayed correctly.  However, I have to do whenever I generate WebHelp, because the file is not in the source files.  I've tested this locally and on our Web server, so I don't think it's a problem with UTF-8 on the Web server.  In addition, it is the only place where this happens in the WebHelp.  Everything else is OK.

  Someone know how to solve this problem, or do I report a bug?  See screenshot below.

  A RoboHelp engineer sent me this in an email, which solved the problem:

  "Please go to la! Language! folder in your project folder and open es_ES folder. Open the RoboHHRE.lng file in Notepad. Look for the "FtsHilitePrompt" variable in the file and see that its value is not corrupted as it is in the output. »

  That's what I did: the RoboHHRE.lng has been corrupted (using the spelling "Baºsqueda" - attached).  I made a copy of the original and renamed her "RoboHHRE_old.lng".  I edited the original file with the correct spelling of 'search' (search) in "Como search results" and the WebHelp now displays correctly.  (Same French).

  You can use the code in userChrome.css to set a lower minimum width for normal tabs (not pinned APP) to have several visible tabs on the tab bar.
  
  The problem is that Firefox 13 + shows is no longer a list all tabs button, unless the scroll buttons are visible, so it can be difficult to locate the other tabs.
  You would need to hover a tab to display the tool tip if you don't see the label.

  Updated through the "Check for updates" to the latest version.
  Additional verification indicates program is up to date and no updates available.
  However, "About Mozilla Firefox" shows version 3.6.13.
  Plain confusion.
  Edit: (Please note, she applies to the laptop and NOT the system used to post this question).

  If you had posted the laptop would have helped the system information. You might have some long-forgotten plugin or other software which affects the laptop, or it could be malicious.

  Take a look at the sites say that Firefox is obsolete or incompatible, even if it is the latest version and information about the audit and the reset of the user agent string.

  I understand that the keyboard will be seized of the wrong characters when you press some keys. I'll do what I can to enlighten you on this issue.

  Regarding the first two keys, the extra button that appears is the key top. The third key does the same thing, but includes also two keys below. I was able to look at the keyboard of this computer to examine the issue. Unfortunately, it is a hardware problem and the computer must be repaired.   Go in Edition > Preferences > Page display

  Text smoothly in the drop-down option select "monitor" in the rendering pane.

  Click OK and then reopen Reader

• Content and tab Index showing the characters corrupt in Asian languages (RoboHelp 10)

  Japanese and Chinese files CHM I received from my Asian translator show correct characters in the Index table to the tabs. I need to make a change to the help, but when I open the project or compile it, words for these tabs show as corrupted characters. I have Japanese and simplified Chinese language packs installed and tried to move my PC language to these languages, but still get the corrupted characters.

  One thing I notice is that, in the! Language! files for all languages, there is a! Language!. FPJ file and a folder en_US with a file of en_US.fpj in it. The two .fpj files include the text "<? XML version = "1.0" encoding = "utf - 8"? ' > '. Should there be a different .fpj for Asian languages file?

  Any other ideas?

  Edit: Also, I changed the language in the settings dialog box of the project for the simplified Chinese while my PC language has been updated with the Chinese, but that has not changed anything.

  Here is the complete solution.

  Note: This is for the HTML Help files.

  On your PC:

  1. Make sure that the appropriate language pack is installed on your PC.
  2. Select Start > Control Panel > region and language.
  3. On the Format and the Administrative tabs, set the Format and the settings system locale the appropriate language/country.
  4. Restart the PC.

  Note: PC's display language doesn't have to be on the target language.

  In RoboHelp:

  1. Open the Asian aid project.
  2. Select file > project settings, and then select the appropriate language.
  3. Select file > generate > primary layout.
  4. In the HTML Help Options dialog box, select the appropriate language, and then click Save and generate.

  Under display, change your Screen Mode to Normal. In all other modes, guides and other hidden characters will not appear.

  InDesign CC. The show/hide grid or the works of characters to show/hide hidden.

  Maybe you're wrong display mode. Try mode-> Display Mode; invisible as the grid and hidden characters will appear in normal, but IIRC not in the preview.

  When I opened gmail with Chrome it is normal (color, icons, etc, but when I open it with Firefox it is black and white with the boxes without labels instead of icons.)   It kills me that somewhere in the past I have encountered this problem. I don't remember not if it was Goog "or fire", but at the same time before I had my latest machine, told me that my flow was slow and I wanted to go on a less demanding fashion so that I would not be slowed down more? I think that the current (very annoying) problem was caused by my play recently with Win - 7 on my twelve year old laptop, but I have no messages or choices about it online at all. And the further use of my fast desktop computer has not triggered a return to normal. Chrome shows no signs of the same disease, but from Chrome does a bad job to stop the pop-up windows, and Firefox is going to the other extreme by preventing boxes you want check, etc, I'm not stick to one or the other exclusively.

  I walked carefully and repeatedly through two Goog and options lists, etc. all on fire, but have not found any info or the same terminology that is close to the situation. Not to worry, if he straightens never arise I'll let you know what the problem was.
