First HP, equations Solver

I'm having some difficulties with my first HP Calculator. I received early in the week. I use it with my TI - 89 Titanium to see how to compare the different functions. The problem lies in when I tried to use the Solver of equations to solve for a variable uknown. I know that this must back me two responses, one around of 383 and the other around 1410, both of my 89 coming back from these responses, and the solution for my problem is in the back of my book and it lists both here. Does anyone know how to solve this? I think that such a "beast" than the first must be able to do something so simple.

Please try to use nSolve(YourEquation,a=1..nn), while being in CAS mode. (nSolve since looking digital answers)
Using a = 1.2000 gives a list of {387.092637878, 1410.5095324}. If you think several roots, it's pretty cool to use a range as a guess.
Make sure that you use lowercase 'a' in the equation in order to avoid the "Bad Argument value", also make sure that the CASE is set to degrees.

My next question is related to my commonly used work of the equations I have stored on my HP 50 G.
I use these to solve for an unknown variable - and they use a lot.
Anyway is to transfer these on the HP Premium?
If so, how? How do you keep them and where?
On the HP 50 G, for example, they are in their specific directories - for example

Each application has an associated note which is part of the request. Maj APPS is the "Info" button It is a mark of semi protected which is part of the application. What you're trying to do, that's exactly why it exists!
Why the default is degrees, this is the digital format most commonly used for general mathematics. HOWEVER, you can in your SAVED copy of the application determine whether degrees using SHIFT-SYMB screen mode. I'm studying for the exams in June and I'm writing long equations in my HP (algebraic, std, degrees, rectangular), but whenever I try to write a new one, if there is a variable with the same name, it displays its value, not the name I typed. I know this may sound confusing, but here's an example:
- I do an exercise and I'm saving the following equation: A = B + C (for example).
- I use it and I begin a new fiscal year.
- In this exercise, I save the equation: B = C * E * R/T, but when I try to save in a variable, it changes the letters B and C for their values. So if I want to solve an equation with different values of B & C I can not because they do not appear on the equation 'solved '.
I know I can clear all variables before writing a new equation, but it's a pain in the ass, is there a good way to do it?

your first equation must be entered this way: (use equation writer or the command line)

I would like to bring a project of 7cc Premiere Pro (a film with a lot of crossfades and dip to whites) in da Vinci for nuance. I did not any Uscite initial settings rial of the Premiere Pro project in that regard, but would you know it please if it would be possible to rank with da Vinci? the xml export should work fine, even with first start-up. the proxy workflow that Kevin talks has been made popular at the time where the first did not work properly with cinemadng media. Long-time user Adobe CS6 Master Collection. Not met it before, however.
Even simple project using 3 sequences of the body through dynamic links.
Set up for a video of 20 seconds plays automatically and then drops in a static menu, offering the choice of two timelines.
All tests OK, presents a preview still OK and OK builds.
HOWEVER, the DVD resulting ignores the intro video and starts with the menu, despite the video intro defined as first play and test OK inside yet.
I built the project from scratch twice now with the same result.
Advice on the cause and cure?
Ok. I finally tracked down.
Before adding the item to the intro, I started with the menu. When I added the introductory movie, everything sounded good on the flowchart and it played OK in yet, but, as I explained at the beginning, when it is burned to DVD playback has begun with the old menu, not the first new play.
I tried to delete the preferences of callbacks (start with SHIFT + CONTROL) without result.
I tried to add a STOP at the end of the menus, without result.
I also tried a variety of other first elements of the game, but the DVD always starts with the first no-play menu.
Finally, I looked at the properties of the project and found the title button and the main timeline always pointing to the first original broadcast menu item not currently selected. My hp 20 b show me an error during the variable resolution

Why my computer can not solve a problem, and show me an error 'A lot or number of Solutions', but can solve other very similar to it cannot be resolved.
It can solve the problem is the following:
$-1.000.000,00 in PV, I 6 / YR, $70.000,00 in PMT, 0 (zero) in FV. As long as you press N it borders returs 33.25 (in my case years)
Now if I change the value in PMT $ 60.000,00, then press N, it returns an error "A lot or number of Solutions".
What's wrong with that?

Let's take a look at what is really going on here
1 1000000 invests

So in this case, with a low PMT (thus causing a growing annual balance), you have to solve for the number of years N, where VF is a number greater than the initial investment.

Complicated simple question - ray tracing

I'm working currently on a project - I have an optical system (some prisms, some lenses etc) and I want to do a VI to calculate the propagation of a ray of light - something like ray tracing.
I know that labview is not a perfect platform to address this issue, but I still want to try.
My problem is as follows: I want to calculate the propagation of a ray through a lens. I skate with some coordinates (y = const) and a lens plano convex - forward of a lens is a piece of a sphere. To calculate the spread (using snell's law), I find an angle between the RADIUS and the line that is tangent to this sphere lens to the point where my light beam hits the lens.
My procedure (on the piece of paper):
1.i know the coordinates of the center of a sphere (take (0,0)) and its radius r (x ^ 2 + y ^ 2 = r ^ 2). I know that the value of y = y_0 including the ray enters the goal.
so I can calculate the x_0: x_0 ^ y_0 2 + ^ 2 = r ^ 2. Now, I know the point where the light enters the lens (x_0, y_0)
2. then comes the usual procedure to find the equation of a tangent line to the sphere (y = a * x + b):
I updated y_0 and x_0 this equation:
Y_0 = a * x_0 + b
and I can't remove an unknown value (e.g. b): y = a *(x-y_0) + x_0
3. then I put this assimilation into the equation of the sphere (x ^ 2 + y ^ 2 = r ^ 2) and it's the quadratic equation that have an unknown value x and only one free parameter: a.
4 beacause I want to have the tangent line, so there should be a single good with sphere - so the quadratic equation should have determinant equal to zero (the only solution for x). It gives me an equation for one. I should find the value of a that satisfies this equation and then I know this tangent line and I have the solution! UF...
Unfortunately I still have not found a solution to implement this in labview (and I'm motivated because most of the work of this project is already done). I tried with the formula of analysis and so on, but I could not.
I will be really grateful for any advice or help!

LabVIEW does not symbolic math. Once you have the equations solved on paper or reduced to a set that can be solved numerically, so you can program in LV
When I look at your math in the first post, I see that (3) you describe an equation in x and a. However, this is not an order quadratic equation, but a fourth polynomial with terms like a ^ 2 * x ^ 2-2 * a ^ 2 * x * y_0. If this is not so easily resolved.
Isn't the tangent to the sphere perpendicular to the RADIUS at that time? The angle of the beam can be calculated from x_0, y_0 and the center of the sphere. Then add 90 degrees. An arc tangent and no complicated equations.

My MacBook Air screen looks like "safe mode".
I ran diagnostics & everything checked. I've upgraded to the latest operating system. The display still looks like crap. Can it be some setting? I'm not a geek (but I gave birth to a few) so I would appreciate some advice on where he can blame. OH and I just upgraded to el Capitan, hoping to get rid of some malicious software, but it's still there. Can this be the problem, I first have to solve?
I would get rid of the malware in the first place, because in general it is very annoying to have on your computer (I guess you get all sorts of pop-up windows or your computer is idle). It is also possible that it influences of various parameters, display for example settings. What is the malicious program, you've found? Have you tried to run Malwarebytes to remove it?

Just to make sure, you use only the display which is part of the Macbook or you use one or more external displays?

It has a small green light now and my macbook pro can work on it but it won't charge my battery. Firstly you can solve this problem? (I unplugged it and put it in the rice) and secondly can it harm my macbook or the battery if I use it while there than the dim green light?

Error hard drive on MacBook Pro non-partitionnement

I have the MacBook Pro with OSX El-Capitan 10.11.4 2013. I had installed windows on Boot Camp and I deleted the contents of its partition by mistake of the disc utilities. I then tried to reinstall but couldn't so I went back to the utilities disk to format, UN-partition and then re-partition all again. However, I got the problem indicated on photos when I tried to partition of the United Nations. He refuses to remove the pink part and shows as unused space. Any help please!
First of all, you must repair your drive hard/OS X partition before being able to add that the free space on your OS X partition. To do this, hold down the control, Alt and R keys during start up your Mac to the high start in OS X Recovery and open disk utility.
Then, choose your hard disk in the sidebar (the one labelled "APPLE HDD ST500... ('') and press "First aid" to solve all the problems. Do the same with "Macintosh HD". If the repair was successful, press 'Partition' and add free space to "Macintosh HD." Finally, restart your computer.

It could very well be that you click on the 'star -' to add a bookmark and then not see your choice records appear.
-If this is the case, the solution is very simple: when you want to add a bookmark, click on the "file" and then select "choose folder" option (see photo) after that you'll have to find the place where you place the file once again and then select the folder.
next time you click on the 'star' icon it will show this folder gain and you must repeat this step to reappear the other files in the same way.
If this did not help you, then I advice to follow 'cor - el' most advanced sound solution.
