First Pro CC cursor Offset

Hi all

Strange problem that just started this morning. The slider in Premiere Pro seems to be slightly off, above and to the left.

For example if I want to add a fade at the end of a clip that I drag the transition from the effects Panel and place the cursor on the end of an element in the sequence. However, instead of being able to drop into position, I get a cursor with a cross next to it indicating that I can't put the transition. If I then move the cursor over the clip and slightly to the left I can drop the transition on the clip no problem at all. It's as if Premiere Pro is not quite sure where the cursor is. Strangely normal selection of clips and General by clicking on the interface is very good, if only when dragging them or hovering over something that this issue appears.

It is also limited to Premiere Pro as any other application under Mac OS X is presenting this behavior.

I already checked that I have the latest updates installed and tried a reboot, but the problem persists.

Any suggestions on how to fix it? Thank you

After shooting most of my hair I have, as is often the way, found a simple cause and effect of the problem;

Calmly I disconnected my second screen (it might have unplugged mid-flight as he threw toward the wall) and reduced the workspace to a 1 set screen - and voila; no cursor movement.

Plug the second screen after giving this chance to recover program, everything is back to normal. Except my hair.

I hope this helps you in some way!

  • First Pro CC gives an error "Could not create image buffer" and crashing after installing a videocard GeForce GTX 1070.

    Hi all

I recently installed a GeForce GTX 1070 video card and drivers current in my bench mounted, very happy for the potential break in the rendering and playback (I was using previously a very old ASUS Radeon HD 7850). I had nothing else problems since.

When I first tried a project of creation of opening, audio refused to play (speakers, headphones, everything...) I looked at the volume mixer while playing through the timeline and no audio only showed upward). Everything seemed fine. I closed, cleared the cache, opened the first, this time hold Alt while doing so to reset the preferences. Open very well, audio read back fine, that only now first was blocked indefinitely the generation of PEK files for a short audio clip in the project.

After a long bit of troubleshooting in the speakers, I went ahead and did a complete uninstall of Premiere Pro and After Effects, then reinstalled both programs to their current versions (2015.4 and 2015.3, respectively). No more problems of generation PEK, but something much worse. Now, whenever I try to change the CUDA acceleration enabled, I can maybe five minutes absolute performance first until I get an error "Could not create image buffer", warning of notifications of Windows that your computer is low on memory, and finally, a complete crash where the screen goes black, flickers a couple times, then stays black for good with only the mouse cursor appears on the screen.

The images that I'm editing is all images Go Pro, no effects applied. I am doing this for a client and need ready in a week, but the constant crashing makes them difficult to work around. I can more or less run by changing the acceleration of software only, display options but it is much slower and the memory is still eaten up like crazy (if I place the open Task Manager and start to scrub through the timeline I can watch the memory usage get up to 95% in 20 seconds approximately). Reading suffers as a result once the RAM is full until almost full.

    Technical specifications

First Pro CC 2015.4 (latest version)

OS: Windows 10 Pro (Version 1511)

    CPU: Intel Core i7 - 5820 K CPU @ 3.30 GHz

    RAM: 16 GB

GPU: EVGA GTX 1070 (latest drivers)

SSD (OS and Adobe Suite installed): SanDisk SSD internal 240 GB 2.5 inch SDSSDA - 240 G - G25

Hard drive (where I put my multimedia files): WD Black 2 TB Performance Desktop Hard Drive: 3.5 inch, SATA 6 Gb/s, 7200 RPM, 64MB Cache

    Motherboard: ASRock X 99 Extreme4 LGA 2011-3 ATX Intel

Film source - source footage is an hour of video of Go Pro, all arranged on the timeline, no effect applied (I'm just trying change the original film in a short video).

    Type: MPEG Movie (.mp4)

    Image size: 3840 x 2160

    Frame rate: 29.97

    Format of the pixels: 1.0

It is worth noting that, with my old dusty Radeon GPU, I was able to edit these clips with ease. No reading, no problem of image buffer. I do not see my RAM never go above 60% usage, when I got this card is installed.

Also worth noting, that the first, I have noticed absolutely no problems, and the video card itself seems to work very well. I can play MGSV at max settings with perfect reading, as well as other graphics intensive games.

    Any help?

It's been almost a week and I had zero problems. First Pro CC 2015.2 works like a dream! I'll go ahead and mark this thread closed.

For those just tuning, I was able to find a solution by uninstalling the Premiere Pro and After Effects, and then reinstall them back to last known stable on my bench (Premiere Pro 2015.2 and after 2015.2 effects). So far, running these versions has been very good, even with active CUDA acceleration.

The only downside is that all the projects I've done in Premiere Pro version 2015.4 should be re-edited from scratch. But I've had absolutely zero problems using the program, which is a relief. Hope Adobe fixes this problem whenever 2015.5 is out!

  • Big bug in first Pro CC 2015.3 when the pad by dragging '?

I just installed first Pro CC 2015.3 and found this horrible bug.

Well, I hope that this is a bug, because if this is a feature it has no sense at all.

Please look at this GIF: https://i.gyazo.com/7ad73bd031cd9739f759ab15f8c922b4.mp4

    I have 2 clips:

    1. CLIP 1 on track 1
    2. CLIP 2 on track 2

Now, I put the cursor on the edge of the clip 1 and start it cut by dragging.

If you look at the program monitor, as long as I move the mouse I roll the video. And I see roll video CLIP 1, OBVIOUSLY, because I'm clip cut 1.

Now look at the madness. As soon as I passed under clipping 2, the program followed the evolution and show me the clip 2. It's something that never happened in Premiere Pro CC 2015 and arrives for the first time in first Pro CC 2015.3.

    NOW, ADOBE

    • If I'm mower CLIP 1, why the hell I see the content of the CLIP 2?
    • How can I solve this problem?

Please note that I can not work at all with this bug...

I just started to first Pro CC a few days ago, and so far he has been INCREDIBLE!

When I try to move a clip 2 + minute from source in the timeline window, the program stops working, but it's not really "freeze" or lock up.

My mouse moves but I can't click on anything. I can still play/pause with the space bar. Shortcut keys all them always seem to work.

Sometimes it happens when I have a normal arrow cursor, and sometimes I hand "enter."

Turns out I have to not need to reinstall Windows. I don't know what is actually worked in the end. As I began to prepare to reinstall the OS, I ran a disk cleanup, deleted unnecessary files and a few other things. After all that, I did a reboot, which triggered an update of the system. I decided to try Premiere Pro one last time, and it worked! I'm guessing that disk cleanup got rid of a problematic file - who knows.

I'm working on my project again. Thanks for the help.

Yes, you need to back the SOUL as well to avoid problems of codec, etc..  When the back/update, check and make sure that your project file type associations and the format are correct - especially when you have several versions of the software installed.

Adobe has recently added the dll cuda for installation 2014.2, (I guess to provide comprehensive support in all areas).  You will have to address specific settings in the Nvidia control for the application.

Any suggestions? The application crashes when only video is imported or a project is opened with existing video files it contains.

If the folder 'Profile-' exists not when the first launch, the program will always create a new. In fact, the issue of deleting or hiding existing preferences: first writes a new and fresh copy. This measure determines if corrupted prefs were the cause of the problem.

By removing the new folder, you're actually invalidate the test. Please remove preferences one more time, then allow the application to launch without doing anything (except by selecting 'create new project').

But I doubt that will solve the problem. A search for the new module failing (devenum.dll) took me to this page: first Pro CC 20141 has stopped working - Win 7 64 bit.

Please try to switch only software Renderer [file > Project Settings > General]. If that keeps the accident does not happen, then please report your exact model of the graphics card and the version of the graphics driver.

I received the advice of others and uninstalled agency CC 2014, rebooted, update my records from Nvidia, rebooted, reinstalled agency CC 2014, rebooted, tried to run the application, but same accident persists.  Others also said something about changing permissions for 'something';  I tried to change the permissions for the cache folder that I use but not sure how effective it is, or what to change EXACTLY for permissions, IF this is the problem.

Any advice, experience with this problem, or discussion would be appreciated.  Thank you!

    LAST UPDATE 27/07/14

Uninstalled all Creative Cloud components / applications completely, used Adobe CC cleaning tool to remove the cloud remains.  Reinstalled only agency and Media Encoder 2014 and same thing for the body, instantly hangs at startup.  I, however, had a few interesting weird encoder errors and failures during his installation through creative cloud desktop.  Here are some pictures of the error log:

I feel that something is wrong from the start, perhaps something within dynamiclink that crashes body / gives also install errors to encode.

Any help or thoughts are appreciated!

Suggestions of preferences is, indeed, where was the problem. In my case, there was a Premiere Pro Preferences file which was in conflict with a folder of pref anterior body under Windows 7 Sync Center. I guess that's the equivalent of Windows preferences Mac questions, so be sure to check if you have synchronization conflicts, I guess, lol. Hope this helps anyone with similar problems out there!

What is your exact make and model graphics card (ATI or nVidia or?)

What is your exact graphic adapter driver version?

Did you go to the vendor's web site to search for a newer driver?

For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have information about the current drivers

-You must go directly to the vendor's web site and check the updates by yourself

    Autodetect Driver ATI http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool

    nVidia Driver Downloads http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

    You have dual video?

Go to the Windows Control Panel and select hardware and sound, and then select Device Manager... In Device Manager, you click on the sign to the left of graphics cards... + and see if the 2 are listed
