  What I don't see is the availability of recovery disks to reinstall the operating system (windows 7 64-bit) or your PC programs (other than those listed in the link of support above).

  This means that if you want to replace the hard drive, you must make your own W7 64-bit installation media and use the 7 product key of Microsoft windows on the bottom of your PC to activate the installation.

  That assumes you can read all 25 characters of the product key windows 7.

  If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

  Decompressed archive as root, not the user, so file hplip - 3.15.2 due incorrect permissions.

  Sometimes, it works to prepare a new hard drive with the utility from Cyberlink cd first. Download and save the file. Once the download is complete, place a blank cd in your drive and click on the downloaded file to create a boot cd. Start with this cd and wait until you get a green check mark indicates the hard disk is ready. Remove the cd, insert the first disc of recovery and restart the laptop.

• Time Machine failed backup. What are alternative backup software?

  A MBP with 1 TB HD could not continue the Time Machine backup, after update OS X to El Capitan 10.11.6. Old backups TM are automatically removed because of the error checking. The MBP also failed to make a new backup TM.

  I guess I maybe need a reinstallation of the OS X. How is it safe to reinstall OS X 10.11.6 without a backup?  Any suggestion of a software disk cloning? (e.g. copy of carbon can make a clone of disc? How do I?)

  You should check the drive you used for Time Machine backups with disk utility > first aid to make sure that the disc is not serious. If you mean Carbon Copy clone, yes it can create clones. Instructions to create a clone are provided with the program.

• Pavilion g6-2278dx: System Recovery dvd kit fails

  My hard drive died and I was able to recover most of the images of the files before it failed completely. The patition of recovery was also damaged and I failed to make recovery disks. I installed a new and bigger hard drive and ordered the DVD and the game to restore disks, three DVD system and a DVD supplement. I insert the first DVD and go through the recovery process, browse each disc it copies the data from them. At the end it shows that it is install files or something like that, however, leaves on take off a few seconds, then the powers of the laptop. After reboot, I get a no os found error. Using another spare drive I can see that files, .swm, have been copied but not expanded, nor was it a windows or a recovery partition which worked. I contacted the support by chat and they said the need for fixed hard drive cable and ship it to them for $358 and they'll fix it. Idont buy which, as I am able to install and run the edition eval 8.1 without problem. I am sure that there is a problem with the DVD but can't find anyway to get a replacement set.

  You may need to perform a repair of software using PC Companion. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1 to 2 hours until the device has so at least 60% battery.

  Make sure that the device is not connected to the computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press the power button / stop and volume until what the machine vibrates 3 times or on some devices, it must push the small button near the tray on the back of the camera or SIM).

  Open PC companion-> support area-> update phone software / Tablet-> repair my phone/Tablet blue highlighted. Follow the steps, do not plug your phone until you are prompted to press volume down while plugging in the USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you may need to run Windows 7 compatibility mode (in some cases XP).

• HP 15-R082NR: Intermittent & eventually fail catrostrophic HD: HD Momentus of Seagate 750 GB

  In my view, this computer has ~ 18 months and it is up to my first cousin. I have 3 computers former HP work laptop and many other HP devices.  I was a programmer professional and even have a couple of software patents...

  After much work, I was able to do a new install of Windows 8.1.  Along the way, I had a lot of messages about problems with HD, but the built-in tools failed to make the stable material. The drive is a Seagate ST750LM022 HN-M750MBB/M2 (OEM HP).  Seagate (I think) said I had the latest firmware installed - I'm a geek since the first IBM - PC.

  When it appeared stable I decided to do the free update for W - 10 - so the battery fell during the installation of the massive D/L.  After the reboot, I've seen screens of level weak having never been meet and had no options other than the tests: short DST fail.   I think that this disc is really bad and that jives perfectly with my experience with Seagate - I have owned dozens of computers and many had several readers.  I used a lot of people in the past.

  The laptop is now out and the drive in an external USB SATA drive.  SeaTools said: short DST Fail.  Running MSFT Disk Manager of W7. He sees the car but it is "not initialized" and therefore he can't access it.  Results of research on the Web are mixed on the nature / the destructive effect of the initialization of the disk.  EaseUS Partition Recovery see the material but cannot perform any fix or recommend next steps.

  I would buy another drive that IS NOT a piece of Sh * T and reinstall Windows.  But I can not access the recovery partition - or any other file - on this unitialized drive.

  What is your best advice?  At this point, I'm looking to get a BETTER player and using the license of 8.1 W comes with the laptop.

  I saw a really nice HP on MSFT put post to do a phone for installation athorization - but I did not all media to install with.  As I can't access the drive I can't create anything to work with.  Personally, I'm quite happy with Windows 7.  The referenced job W7, SP1 and who had links to ISO images that can be used with your own COSTS to get back on your feet...  However, I found a link similar to the ISO images for download 8.x for Windows images.  And, without the COST (currently), I don't know what W8.1 flaver I should download anyway.  I text my cousin [computer less] (3 hours north) and ask that he find the COA that came with its purchase: IT ISN'T on the laptop - ANYWHERE.

  You ignored the messages of hardware failures imminent and pressed before knowing the risk I have to take, but we are now going to insist on it now. What was the last active OS installed on the computer and what was the original factory of OS?  On machines that accompanies Windows 8 or 8.1 installed in native mode, the key Code is embedded in the BIOS, so you just need to get your hands on Windows 8 or 8.1 (must be the same that had been initially installed) OEM media and do an install and it will be active automatically when the first connected to the internet. Specs say it had originally 8.1 Windows 64-bit. It's simple Windows 8.1 (sometimes called home) as opposed to the Pro.

  If you initialize the disk in Windows you wipe the registration table and MBR partition and never see all data on the disk again without heroic intervention. With disks in this State I had a pretty fair chance access them in a Linux environment from a Live bootable disk or otherwise. Linux reads a little differently than Windows hard disks and can mount a drive that Windows cannot, in many cases and the data can be recovered.  If this isn't the case, Recuva can work well.

• HP Deskjet F2480 fails to install

  I tried to install Windows 7 (64-bit) version of the driver for the printer HP deskjet F2480 on my wife's cell phone. I tried this on my PC and installed properly and no problems at all.

  My iTunes works as a server on a server 2012R2 computer, I thought also to install BB link on this machine. But unfortunately it does not install correctly. Well, he moved up to the point where services must be started:

  Unfortunately, the two modules do not have to compile.

  In previous versions of the kernel only vmnet module compiled with errors.

  I corrected manually the file vmnetInt.h in the module vmnet as suggested here on the forum and it compiles and loads OK

  I am at a loss on how to manually manage the change in kernel version of 4.3.0 - 1 in vmmon files so that I can get to compile correctly

  Hi James,

  What version of Workstation do you use?  Even if Workstation is not yet officially supported any host OSes with 4.3.0 core I think that this issue should be fixed in the Workstation 12.0.1, so if you're on 12.0.0 Workstation and have not yet upgraded, give that a try.

  I searched on Google, the VMware KBs, this forum, I have no solutions for this problem.

  You have the forwarding server in the same ESX/Cluster as desktop computers to be transffered?

  Also check if the forwarding server can contact esx on port 902
