For blackBerry Smartphones sore area code

I recently bought a Blackberry Pearl 8110 on ebay which has been used for about a month. It works perfectly, but if I don't set up all my contacts with the area code (those who have the same area code I do) it will automatically use the region code of '248' (not sure if it was the previous owner).  I use the previous phone's sim card, oh or incidentally, my carrier is AT & T and have no data plan. Someone had this problem? I have to get the data plan?

On the BlackBerry, go to the phone application (or hit the Green call button), and then click the button Menu (button to the left of the trackball) and select Options--> Smart Dialing.  Scroll down to code: and enter your area code here.

Press [Esc] (or [back] button - button to the right of the trackball) and select Save. Press [Esc] to return to the home screen.

You should be OK now.

  • Code secret voicemail for blackBerry Smartphones

I was in line with the plan for the Sprint International and has been advised to get my voicemail password when you use my internationally to receive a voice message.  Then I tried to know what it was as I was not lucid enough to ask then that online.  But then I realized that with my phone I don't have even an access code or password.  I just abbreviated '1' and automatically connected to the recovery of voicemail without access code or password.  Is this something specific to ATT or Verizon?   Am I missing something?  I tried to look in my options menu and wasn't able to find anything on a password of password.  Help.

Well, for international travel, you are on other networks. I think you really need to do it is to contact your provider and ask him what you are supposed to do on the international level... it will depend on what agreements they put with the carriers in the country you are visiting.

  • Support for blackBerry Smartphones Q5 India

    Hi, (question could be repeated)
Before you buy BlackBerry, I knew that its market is not as varied as android, but to my great disappointment I couldn't find apps 'base' which should have a smartphone. I need a free application map or navigation and to my great disappointment that BlackBerry maps does not work in India, in addition to that google don't provide maps for BlackBerry.
Please tell me is there any map application can attest to BlackBerry? Would be happy to install in my machine.
    Thank you

No, as I said, they are available in Android apps which you call is able to run for the right amount of.
You will need to get them on an Android App store, there is a good app called Snap specially written to help with this...

  • Storage of applications for blackBerry Smartphones

Hey everyone... I use my 9790 bold, he repeats to me my memory to applications is 512 MB internal memory of the phone's 8 GB! So is there anyway to increase this limited storage for applications? In addition, this space does not increase if I use an external MicroSD memory?

    Hello...

There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.

Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and fixed (size: 512 MB in your case) space that is available to the House of the OS itself, as the destination for the installation of applications (more a few storage applications, overhead and other costs). You can't touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can install only here... There is no other choice.

The device memory - it is space on your BB you can touch these files, images, media, etc. In general, it is not very big, but it is available.

Memory card SD/Media- is what it says... your SD card to store files, media, photos, etc.. It can be as large as your BB OS can support... see this KB:

    • KB05461 Sizes of card MicroSD taken in charge by the BlackBerry device software

On some devices/OS levels, you can see 'Free file' (Options > status), I think this is equivalent to AppMemory. You can see on other devices, all the memory usage levels three (Options > memory). Here are some tips to use:

    • KB02843 What is the function of low memory manager on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14320 How to maximize space and power battery life on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14213 Call logs, SMS text and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone

Finally, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

In addition, each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy. Some have taken to do this on a regular basis as a preventive measure... some as often as once a day. Others got the app QuickPull to automate a simulated Batt Pull.

    Good luck!

  • Problems for blackBerry Smartphones download BB App torch

Has anyone else had problems downloading a Blackberry AppWorld application on smartphone? Free applications last few, I tried to download does not give me the choice 'Download' but rather say "uninstalled". Any suggestions?

Well, I'm sure that someone had a problem, but thousands, millions, are not.

    What applications?

Have you restarted your BlackBerry and retried the download?

If it still does not, try this...

    1. open the App World
    2. go to my world
    3. for the BB keyboard-oriented - hold down the ALT key and press "RST."
    3. for the storm - hold the num-lock ('! 123 ") button so that it hangs and then click on '(34).
    4. If your BB locks after issuing clear cache, do a battery pull reboot

PS: in would be really useful to indicate what model BlackBerry that you are using, operating system, etc.

Similarly, make sure you have the latest version of the installed AppWorld, using your BlackBerry browser to download and www.blackberry.com/appworld .

Hello and welcome to the community!

I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, what are the benefits of using the spindle to spindle and BBM?

I have not used BBM again but was compose and send messages pins (peer-to-peer). Is this the same thing as the BBM and what are the benefits of each? Are they better than just SMS?  Would like to have an explanation, because I'm confused!  Thank you!!

BBM and PIN messages are messages sent from one BlackBerry to another.  The message is composed by the sender and goes through the secure server of the RIM before being delivered to the recipient.  They are only available for BlackBerry users.

The thing I like about them, it is how you can see if they have been received by the recipient.  Once the message reaches the recipient's phone, you will notice a small would be "at the beginning of your message.  In other words, that it is delivered.  When the recipient opens the message, who had "will change to a 'R' for 'reading'.  So now you know that it is actually received by the recipient.

One more great thing about these messages, it's that there is no length limit.  As you probably know, most carriers limit SMS 160 characters; not the case with these messages, they can be much longer.

BBM and PIN messages are of the same type of message, but with PIN messages, you are limited to just contact reception.  With BBM, you can have a lot of contacts on a cat, or you can broadcast a message to multiple contacts at the same time.

I hope this explains things for you.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi kagamine

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums

Yes, it is possible to install the Japanese language on your curve 9220, all you had to do is download a pack of BONES all the language and then install it on your PC, then he had to use BlackBerry Desktop Software to add the Japanese language. You can try this way:

    1. download and install on your PC of any OS pack with any language or multi-language pack by carriers

    • (Make sure you download for the same phone model)

    2. download and install the latest version of BlackBerry desktop from here BlackBerry desktop software software

    3. search your drive C: Vendor.xml and delete them, there may be one or two vendor.xml (on the change of your Pc as your records option to show the hidden files/folders):

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\Windows UserName\AppData\Roaming\Research in Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

Once done open BlackBerry Desktop Software (7.1) > select Applications. > in the section of language and support for entry , select the language to be added to the BlackBerry smartphone (a + will appear next to the language to install) > click apply.

  • Keyboard for blackBerry Smartphones won't work - HELP PLEASE!

My Curve 8900 is less than 6 months old, and suddenly the keyboad won't work, so I can't make/receive calls, and although the trackball works, it won't "click" to unlock. Seems to be an intermittent fault. As I have the Blackberry (it is not purchased via a service provider), I tried to contact customer service for Blackberry UK, who seems reluctant to deal with consumers. My service, O2 have been much more useful. How can I get a warranty repair/replacement, or solve the problem?

Well, after a WEEK, I'm totally furstrated with Blackberry. They have NO customer service in the United Kingdom, and as I have the BB (not through my mobile service provider, with whom I have a single contract SIM) I could get repair/replacement of parts. the only way I knew solving it had to spend many hours in an O2 store in the United Kingdom (my service provider) who finally had sympathy with me and agreed to sent for repair/replecement. I had one today renovated. It seems that this keyboard problem is common - the guy in the O2 shop showed me a way to fix it temporarily, hold down the ALT and right SHIFT buttons and press the DELETE key twice. This gives the BB a battery quick re-difficulty.

But I (and all of my colleagues (will now go to the iPhones, which are more reliable and they give better customer service.)) SHAME on Blackberry for their shoddy products and the non-existenet customer service.
