From continuous wireless connection

Hi, I have a new Dell laptop, running Windows 7. Every hour or so I keep losing my wireless connection. When I don't address the problem, he says 'problem with access point or wireless network '. This then solves the problem, but it continues to be. It is very annoying. I had a look at the troubleshooting log and he says: "this computer is constantly switching between two or more wireless routers or access points" I used google for this problem and tried all the suggestions I can find, but the problem persists. My wireless card couldn't be wiped out? Thanks for any help.

Hello

Thanks for posting! If I understand correctly, you are facing problems with the Wi - Fi connection. Correct me if I'm wrong!

Before I continue, I would like to collect some personal information.

1. have there been recent changes to the system before the show?

2. What is the brand and model of the router Wi - Fi?

3 have. what method of troubleshooting you followed?

  • Wireless connection dropping on the Satellite C660-195

    Hello

I recently bought a new Toshiba Satellite C660-195.
However, I have problems with the wireless connection. When I bought the laptop, it was full of all the annoying and resource hungry programs Toshiba install there. I have reinstalled Windows on the laptop, just install the drivers and software, I wanted and needed. I have problems with the wireless to stay connected. I can detect wireless networks and connect to that I want to be on, I have to add is a connection at home (I'm not fly: P).

However, the continuous wireless connection down, becoming 'limited' as it says in system tray icon but then turns back on and the process just keeps spiraling on, on and off.

The wireless I connect works quite well using Xbox consoles, at first I thought it might be the router but after that a second thought if found the wireless on the Xbox is fine then I surely can't be the case? The laptop is Windows 7 64 bit

  • ThinkPad Edge E15 302 - 45U wireless connection problem

I had to do a fresh install of windows 7 Professional.  Everything works apart from the wireless connection.  I downloaded every driver wireless and the problem still persists.  I can see the connection being broadcast, by entering the password to connect, I get only "windows could not connect to xxx".

I can connect to this point my phone wireless and my other laptop is no one else in the office having this problem.  I'm having the problem only on this Thinkpad.

If I try to use Intel PROSet/Wireless diagnostics tools I get a FAILURE-Wireless equipment is not related to the transport driver.  I tried all that at this point with no luck.  LAN works of course but I need the wireless to work.

    Thank you

Nevermind I managed to solve the problem by creating another profile.  Log on to the new wireless profile works great.

  • Continual loss of wireless connection with Satellite C660

    Hello

I hope that someone out there might be able to help.

I've had my Satellite C660 for about 18 months now. Since the first day we had continual problems connecting to the wireless network. It connects but then lost the connection again a few minutes later, and then after a few more minutes, he reconnects. And the circle continues. An Ethernet cable didn't improve things.

Initially, the problem is solved by leaving the laptop computer charger plugged, randomly that solved the problem and that is not ideal, I went with it because it worked.

We have new broadband services and the router installed and the problem came back now, but this time the fix of power cable does not work, and once again an Ethernet cable does not work.

The laptop is now continues to lose the connection, and it's very frustrating. I have 2 other laptops from Dell, 2 tablets, and they all work very well, never losing connection.

Can someone give me it please advice on what could cause this problem and how to fix it (easily!).

I can't wait to hear your thoughts and thank you in advance for your help.

    Glenn

    > Initially solved the problem by letting the laptop computer charger plugged, randomly that solved the problem and that is not ideal, I went with it because it worked.

I think WiFi disconnects due to energy savings.
As you say, linking the main specifications address the issue. I think because of the connection of the AC adapter, the laptop switches to another profile of power where Wlan energy saving is disabled.

Therefore, I recommend to change the power profile that is used in battery mode.
-> Panel-> power option choose the power profile that you use in battery mode
Now, select advanced to change power settings
You will find an option called settings of the adapter wireless (or something like that)
The mode option of battery and AC adapter must use the performance parameters

  • Wireless connection keeps gettting disconnected from the Internet.

System: New Dell PC.  Internet browser: IE.  Connection: Wireless.  Replaced the Modem;  Router: Netgear new 43... Have two other laptops, a Toshiba and an ASSUS. System: All Windows 7.  Other computers are on the same WiFi problems - not stay connected. This PC has two antennas on the back to connect to the wireless router.

Browser used: Mozella Firefox (the worst of all a fall); Google Chrome (still drops), now: IE, version 9, works best with Yahoo.com email than other browsers and email applications.

Use: System security Norton, tune up utilities, 2013 and Super Anti-Spyware - ALL have been used continuously without any problems before.

Problem: as soon as the internet connection disconnects, trouble, launch window is. I select the HOTFIX and then, it reconnects to the internet. He said NO problem with cable. Then, it connects to the internet.  Wireless is full Signal, and the other computer in separate rooms have no pproblem.  I thought that the problem could be the newwork pilot program be corrupt and went to update, BUT got a warning that says to use the APPROPRIATE Microsoft program, or can be a problem. After about 8 hours of searching, I can't FIND driver network form of the Mircorsoft program. the versio curent is 2006.  This computer is a purchase of 2011.   Could be an internet code corrupt, registration, etc., but don't kinow how to solve this problem, if it is the problem?  Maybe different browsers, especially Mozella Firefox changed some settings when the browser has been installed or removed, because it is when the problem started.  MOZELLA Firefox has MANY complaints about this problem.

I RESTORE the system once, after you get rid of Google Chrome and Firefox, got a new modem, etc, so think the problem MAY be the address or anything that is not recognized by this computer's internet connections? Have no idea.     Help would be appreciated no - no help from Dell (what's new), even thought it was under warrantey, they always try to collect the royalties to talk and then do not know anything on the networks.

    Concerning

    Hi MHBolin,

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft Community.

Wireless is a breakthrough in broadband technology. It can allow you to access the internet remotely. You have a problem with disconnect the wireless connection. It can be difficult when something that is important to you does not work as expected. It's pretty simple and we're here to help you solve the problem. We work as a team and get this sorted out.

    Please answer the question-

    (1) that you get an error message or error code?

    (2) what other troubleshooting steps have done?

    (3) have you done other changes on the computer before the show?

I would like more information about the issue.

    Method 1-

Sometimes, the computer cannot locate the IP address of the router. These problems can be solved by a simple reset of the router.

    See the steps-

    (a) locate a PIN size on the back of the router (that would be your reset button).

    (b) use a sharp object or to press the button to reset for a period of ten seconds and release.

    (c) now, wait for the lights on the router to Flash.

    (d) once the lights are stable try to connect to the internet.

    Method 2-

You must ensure that there is no interference between the router and the computer.

    The municipalities which are-

    (a) a cordless phone

    (b) thick walls

    (c) large bodies of water like the fish tanks

    (d) other wireless devices.

    (e) an immediate proximity to the router (maintain a distance of 6 feet from the router).

    Method 3-

my continuous wireless printer going offline - how can I 'stabilize' the connection?

    Hello gerrie,.

What I would do is put off the printer and the router so

-essentially them turning off for about 10-15 seconds

-and then feed the router back on waiting for all the lights turn on completely

    - and after that is back in the market I would re - turn on the printer and re-establish the connection between the printer and wireless network

  • Lack of wireless connection continues

I just bought a new laptop.

The problem I have is keeps him without cutting wire. I think its something to do with the free Config software that has been installed on it. I can connect using the config of fancy free stuff, but the connection will go just every 10 minutes or more. Thanks to the tools of wireless connection of normal windows that lists your wireless settings it says I am not connected to my wireless, but if I try to click on it it says that I'm disconecting from him. I think what is happening is normal windows wireless attempts to connect every time that a whilse and it disconnects me free of config. Bottom right the ICO wireless normmal says not connected and free config says that it is connected. When the dialog box appears and says "can not conntect to your favorite network" he cut my connection.

Help! It's driving me crazy, if I thought that I could just remove free config and use normal windows stuff then I would but disabling, it left me no internet at all and I'm afraid to remove drivers, or something important.

Maybe someone could provide a solution because of you, but I doubt that this would be not possible without knowing the right laptop model and the preinstalled operating system

In addition, I put t understand why you use Configfree to connect WiFi, you can use this tool for diagnosis offers, but if you want to establish the WiFi connection then I recommend using WLan parameters of Windows or the Intel ProSet utility (if card Intel WLan) or Atheros Wlan Utility (if Atheros WLan card.)

PS: update driver WLan if possible...

  • Very limited wireless connection

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 - 3153ca with a 64-bit windows system 7 and I'm only able to get a wireless connection when the laptop is very close to the modem. Once the laptop is moved, for example, to another floor of the House, the connection is lost and cannot be re established until I have the back next to the modem. He has no problem with the wired connection. This has happened while he was trying to pass my McAfee security provider, although I don't think this is the problem that my other laptop (a Dell) converted without this problem. The other laptop continues to maintain its connection Wireless throughout the House, so the router and the modem is not the issue. I downloaded and re-installed the adapter without modification. I have scanned the laptop and nothing is reported in the mess. Are there any ideas as to why the wireless connection works only when the laptop remains close to the modem? Thank you.

It seems I may not have been very clear in my previous post.  I wanted to suggest was to reverse the connection of the antenna.  As mentioned in the thread I linked, the connections might have been reversed from what they should be from the factory.  If this is the case, then connect the antennas in a factory setting would not solve the problem.

Have you tried to reverse the antennas?  If they are in the deformities, then this would fix it.  If they are in the right position, then the worst you would have (only in the deformities) would drop signal strength.

    Quick update:

    * If you encounter this message, make sure that you are trying to connect to a wireless "N".

Yes, he is in small print on the box, right, sony will not ask you this when you are troubleshooting.

    * If you rely on Sony for smart assistance, forgetabout it.

    * After the receiver a comment card and to express my disappointment, the call center outsource sent a letter... and when I called to discuss, they were still clueless.

Sorry, but the support structure is absolutely catastrophic.

We now return you to your regular programming...

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    OK, let's go, in detail:

My Sony dashboard came again, out of the box today. It will connect to my network.

FYI: My set of skills: I am an engineer of sales network, with an extensive network of Wi - Fi and running in my house.

After connecting the dashboard and providing configuration information, the message I get is:
    __________________________________________________

    Network configuration
    Failed network connection...

    wlan0 link is down
did not get an IP address
    Internet is inaccessible
    __________________________________________________

Like others on this forum, it seems that my dashboard won't "handshake" with my wireless router.

To try to solve problems, I did the following:

(Slot 0): both my wireless router and my attempt to connect to the sony dashboard are in my home office, so the intensity of the signal should not be a problem.

    (1) check the connectivity wireless on a multitude of home devices: laptop, TV, iPhone, ipad... in short: Wireless works. Both with fixed IP and distributed DHCP address.

    (2) restart my Rosewill RNX - N4, wireless "N".

    (3) allow my SSID be visible (that I found which helped my LG TV to connect during its initial configuration)

    (4) checked my WLAN settings on my router:

    SSID: *.
    Security mode: WPA2 only: personal
    Type of encryption: AES
    Pre-shared Key: v * m

    (5) restarted the dashboard of Sony.

    (6) wireless seems to work on the sony dash, as the configuration screen of the network about dashboard States:
    ______________________________________________

    Network configuration
    Choose a wireless connection

    ..:| (my ssid is displayed)

MAC address: (my MAC address of my wireless router is displayed)
    ______________________________________________

    (7) I select my SSID (FYI: nobody else displayed) and click (next)

    (8) place comes the next screen:
    ______________________________________________
    Network configuration
Choose the key to coding (WPA2-PSK)

    HEX)
    (o) ASCII
    ______________________________________________

    I select ASCII then (Next)

    (9) he asked my key, I carefully enter (.. .slightly annoyed that the screen will not edge to allow me to see all the characters that I'm going home)..., then click on (Next)

    (10) I choose Auto IP, as during the initial setup I keep it as simple as possible... and then hit (Next)

    (11) to the top displays the following screen:
    ______________________________________________
    Network configuration
    Confirm settings

name: (my SSID) (My MAC Address)
    AUTH: WPA2PSK encryption: AES
key: (poster in my correct key, read and validated twice)
    automatic IP allocation (DHCP)
    _____________________________________________

Completely satisfied with it, I select (Next)

    (12) the sony dashboard begins its Network Configuration / connection looking for the network and then...

    (13) the following:
    __________________________________________________

    Network configuration
    Failed network connection...

    wlan0 link is down
did not get an IP address
    Internet is inaccessible
    __________________________________________________

    (14) in an attempt to solve the problems, I also tried to set up with a static IP address:

    static IP address:
    IP: 192.168.15.20
    Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.15.1
    DNS1: 192.168.15.1
    DNS2: 8.8.8.8

... and the results were the same: "wlan0 link is down.

    (15) as a final step, I reset my wireless router to have no. SECURITY at ALL. Guess what? "wlan0 link is down.

At this point, I'm at a loss for what I could do "evil".

I welcome comments from other users, either to continue to solve the problem or sharing what you did to resolve your issue with connectivity.

    Thank you.

    c.

Well, here I am, a moth and a half later.

After speaking to Sony technical support...

After sending the camera back to Sony...

After having been informed by Sony that this point had problems, they need to replace parts, AND they were going to send me a new device to save time...

I get a new, and it has exactly the same features / problem.

So I try another router, same problem.

    Guess why?

Because I have my network running "N" and it's a Sony wireless B/G device.

Anyone who has mentioned in technical support... The point on the replacement due to damaged items was total BS.

If you have a network of "N", it will recognize your SSID and even to recognize the security there.

    But it does not connect.

Once I changed to a mixed G/N wireless environment, it connects.

For example, you might say my own question... should have known.

However, Sony sells a device "B/G" when almost everything comes standard "N"...

    Not cool, Sony... Not cool.

  • Vista SP2 wireless connection drops

People, I know this question has been asked before, but I can't find a solution to my problem.  I've had my Dell laptop for about 6 months now and it worked perfectly, without any problem wireless connection.  On Sunday, August 9, I installed Vista SP2.  It updated no problem at all, but once he did his final reboot, it connected to my wireless router for about 5 minutes, then dropped connection.  Now, when you restart it only connects for a minute or two wireless then abandons connection.  I then uninstalled SP2 but it has not solved the problem with wireless.  My wireless adapter is an Atheros AR5007 and drivers are all up to date.

Anyone know how I can fix this so that my wireless signal stay tuned as he used to pre SP2?
    Thank you.

    Hi KK_14,

Thank you for visiting Windows Vista Microsoft answers forum.

Fixing the problems of common networking in Vista:

To reset the stack TCP/IP go to this article and either click on "Fix it for me" or follow the instructions to fix it yourself:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/299357

    Disable the IP helpdesk:

1 hold the Windows key and type R, type "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press enter

    2. scroll down to the IP assistance service, right-click on it and select Properties

    3. in the drop-down list box that says "Automatic" or "Manual", set it to disabled and then click 'apply '.

    4. then click on "Stop" to stop the service from running in the current session

    5. click on OK to exit the dialog box

    Disable IPv6:

Try to uninstall IPv6 on all interfaces, the removal of virtual cards of IPv6 and reset the TCP/IP stack. To remove the IPv6, go to the properties for each network adapter, and deselect the check box next to the Protocol "Internet Protocol version 6 (TCP/IPv6), which will turn off, or select it and click on uninstall, which withdraw power off the computer.» Then go into Device Manager and remove any 4to6 adapters, adapters miniport WUN or tunnel adapters.

NOTE: You should do this for each network connection.

    Disable the DHCP Broadcast Flag:

    Link: http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx/KB/928233

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/322756/ (how to back up and restore the registry in Windows)

Windows Vista cannot obtain an IP address from certain routers or some non-Microsoft DHCP servers

To resolve this issue, disable the DHCP BROADCAST flag in Windows Vista. To do this, follow these steps:

Click Start, type regedit in the search box, and then click regedit in the list programs.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\ {GUID}

This registry path, click the (GUID) subkey that corresponds to the card network that is connected to the network.

On the Edit menu, point to new, and then click DWORD (32-bit) value.

In the new area #1, type DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle and press ENTER.

Right-click DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle, then click on modify.

In the value data box, type 1 and then click OK.

    Close the registry editor.

By setting this registry key to 1, Windows Vista's trying to get an IP address using the BROADCAST flag in DHCP Discover packets. If that fails, he will try to obtain an IP address without using the BROADCAST flag in DHCP Discover packets.

Please let us know if it helps.

    Thank you and best regards,
    David

  • HP Deskjet 3520: Wireless connection

Recently, I changed my wifi network in my house and found that the printer cannot connect or recognize the new wifi network. I tried the reset of the printer to its default settings and turning the router and the printer power off and power on. I do not have a USB however, so this isn't an option for me.
I am extremely confused with the way the printer is supposed to identify the wireless network and how I'm supposed to connect to another or where I'm supposed to type the password for the network.

    Any help gratefully received.

    Hi @Jillianne16,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I noticed that you can not connect your HP Deskjet 3520 to your new wireless network. I'm happy to help you with this problem of connection!

    A few questions for you:

    1. What operating system do you use? If you do not know the operating system you are using, please visit this site. Whatsmyos.
    2. You are able to print a test page with your printer? Video: print a Test Page-HP Deskjet 3520 e-all-in-one printer. (That way we know that material the printer works properly.

In the meantime, please see this message, How to connect a USB-wireless printer to a wireless network without PC, by @jason_h. If you do not have an iPad as indicated in this message, using your computer, open a web browser (for example, Firefox, Google Chrome etc.) and put the IP mentioned in this post in the address bar of the web browser. Then continue with the instructions in this post.

Otherwise, if this post does not help to connect, I would very get a USB 2.0 printer cable at a local store. Once you have the cable, you can connect temporarily to your computer and convert a USB connection to a wireless connection, what could be easier.

Hope this post will help and hope to hear from you soon!

    Hello

This means that the computer cannot connect to the router.

    Try this process.

Check the Device Manager for the wireless card valid entry.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_dm.jpg

If there is no valid entry, remove any entry from fake and re - install the drivers for the wireless card.

Check network connections to make sure that you have a network icon/entry wireless connection, and that the properties of the icon (right-click on the icon) are correctly configured with the TCP/IPv4 protocol in the properties of network connections.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_connection_tcp.jpg

Make sure that if there is Wireless Utility a utility vendor is not running with the native Windows wireless utility.

Make sure you firewall No. preventing / blocks wireless components to join the network.

Stack TCP/IP work should look like.

Right-click on the wireless network connection card, select status, details and see if she got an IP address and the rest of the settings.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/status-NIC.jpg

Description is the data of the card making.

The physical address is MAC of the card number.

The xx must be a number between 0 and 255 (all xx even number).

YY should be between 0 and 255

ZZ should be between 0 and 255 (zz all the same number.)

The date of the lease must be valid at the present time.

    * Note 1. IP that starts with 169.xxx.xxx.xxx isn't valid functional IP.

    * Note 2. There could be an IPv6 entries too. However, they are not functional for Internet or LAN traffic. They are necessary for Win 7 homegroup special configuration.

Above everything is OK, you must be able to connect to the router.  A window that says connected does not mean that you are really connected. Connection to the router means that you can enter the IP of the router base in an address bar in one go, being able to connect and configure the router menus see. If it is not connected in the log to router from any computer that can connect to the router wirelessly with a wire, disable wireless security, (make sure that the wireless SSID broadcast) is on and try to connect with no. wireless security.

I really checked and configured every thing and it doesn't work.

Software firewall application that is not configured to allow local traffic (between the computer and the router is also a possible problem.
some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .
