Fully updated XP SP3 random crashes (Nothing in the logs that show a mistake or an accident)

Randomly throughout the day (18:41 29/01/11 18:33 01/29/11, 14:19 on 29/01/11 and 11:31 01/28/11) Windows will crash.

What happens before the crash is the normal workload on one of these applications; Internet explore, Outlook 2010 and Front Page. These are the only applications that are used, there is an application of information security (PC Tools Internet Security) that runs, but scheduled scans only run at 02:00.

At the time of the accident, nothing happens out of the ordinary, the only thing that will let you even know that he locked (and remains locked up for hours until delivery to zero manual) is the stop of the mouse and nothing from this point works, but all fans and HD continue to operate.

As I said earlier, there is no useful error log, the only ones who are see her start errors after that the accident happened.  Started only since the beginning of December 2010, it crashes several times a day, making it virtually impossible to work. Tell us what 'crash' means to you.

I think that most people think of 'crash' with a blue screen of death (BSOD), so we need to know what it means for you.

You (or your user name), 'crash' means the system crashes, freezes, crashes or becomes unrepsonsive or 'crash' means something else?

XP has a mechanism already built in that is the sole purpose is to help diagnose the jamming system crashes, freezes, etc.

If your system has entered this State, you're likely to find something interesting in the case of the observer newspapers because XP is "hanging" at this time there and will not write any event in the event logs.

If it is true that the system is locking up or hanging, I would use the XP method which is integrated to try it since it's exactly what it is for the figure.   You won't be guessing what it might be, you'll know exactly what it is.

If you don't get a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) that must be with in a different way.

For a BSOD, follow these steps to start:

Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:
Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).
Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.
If there is a name of the file listed in the STOP message, don't forget to include this information too.
Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like.
While you wait, please follow these steps:
Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..
The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?
You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

Perform scans for malware, and then fix any problems:
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:
Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

    Start the computer in safe mode with network and run a full scan of computer viruses.

    I suggest that you can exercise SFC scan and check if that helps. The SFC/SCANNOW command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

    I'm almost ready empty pro CC first and go back to an older version of CS.  Here's why: I can hear the sound of the timeline on the reading, but have no meter level.  Where the $% ^ @ you turn in meters so you can see levels during playback?  This should work out of the box, not to reinstall all the drivers for it. Meter input (s) is not activated.

    Sounds like a serious problem of material.
    Please don t understand me wrong. This is only my personal opinion... If you want to know exactly what's wrong and then the laptop must be controlled by an ASP.

    But try this first before you contact the ASP.
    Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter
    Wait about 30 minutes and then reconnect the two parts.

    Try turning on the laptop computer.
    If that does not help, ASP is your next step

  • Random crashes since update

    I had some problems with my computer these days and can not say what is the cause. It starts fine, Firefox opens very well and I can check gmail and facebook etc and close without problem. Yet, there seems to be a bug that I fall on, maybe if I use multiple tabs or and it happened a few times now, trying to connect to Amazon or using pages which I think can use Flash. Basically, the computer continues to work but is extremely slow - it takes a few seconds to respond to simple tasks, like highlighting of an icon of office and 15 minutes to close. The last time it happened there were about four to six versions of Flash running in the Task Manager and I had to manually stop those using end task. It also happens if I close Firefox, and then try opening it again.

    I think it is a kind of problem of incompatibility due to recent updates - last week, that I have updated to Firefox 27.0.1, AVG Free did a big update, and there are also some updates Windows 7, I downloaded. I should also mention that I installed Trusteer report - because of conflicts with Firefox in the past, I've downloaded the latest version since this is the usual solution, but nothing has changed.

    I don't think it's a virus. AVG has nothing back, I ran Malwarebytes using the system this morning and he found nothing that makes a difference. I have also run a HijackThis scan and you don't see anything that jumps out at me as being irrelevant. The task manager has normal CPU and memory with no program running that should not be. Although I had a problem with the Manager of tasks - immediately after the start, it will trigger the accident if I click to view all processes. As far as I know, no part of Firefox is running at this point so he would have nothing to do with it, but AVG and report are both running, and so far the only other triggers to an accident I found occurred all using Firefox.

    Someone knows something similar in the last days, or any idea what is the cause?

    Just to tie up this thread and help anyone who has the same problem, the dispute was out not to be a problem with Firefox at all but the last updated AVG. I got in touch with them and did some scans for them, but everything went well. In the end, I simply uninstalled AVG in safe mode and reinstalled the latest version. It has been fine since and I gave it almost a week so far. I think it was an error in the patch that was causing the taskbar or the items on it down.

    1. Click Start and select Control Panel.

    2. click on Windows Update, and then click view update history.

    To troubleshoot further, we need to get the error message; You can get the following error message:

    1. open Event Viewer by clicking Start, clicking Control Panel, clicking system and security, click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    2. click on a journal of the events in the left pane.
    3. double-click on an event to view the details of the event.

    Now, make a note of the full error code or an error message.

  • iMac 2015 randomly crashes and restarts

    I have a 2015 27 "iMac 4 GHz with 32GB of RAM from OWC and necessary devices connected via USB and Thunderbolt running El Capitan (updated) and are experiencing random crashes every day.

    Most of the time I'm just browsing through Safari. All of a sudden, the machine crashes, including the mouse pointer and after about 10 seconds the machine will restart and everything is back to normal, as if you start the machine manually. So, no messages saying: it was an unexpected stop, no accident recover/journalist, nothing.

    Checking the logs is without kernel panics. The only thing I can find in the system.log is a recurring cause:-128

    Encounter the same problem or does anyone know what this error code is talking about?

    I tried updating to SP3 after a clean install of Windows XP Pro SP2, and it is never finished and restarted (there was no window asking me to restart now or later).     How about that.  Don't you love it when a plan comes together?  Windows updates only or material for pilots also and then update windows is good, but for a more broad ability of other applications Microsoft, then Microsoft Update and Office update is good for a shopping for updates of every Microsoft product you have.

    You suppose wrongly, and I thought I answered this before.  Technically, you can re-enable the automatic updates but that will require you disabling updates every Monday just before black Tuesday and then manually download and install the cumulative security update newly released and restart before you activate the updates automatic (or notifications only) once more.  It is more reliable just disable automatic updates and do not have the headache.  Disable the horse of notification that is displayed in the status bar, and that you don't mind.
