G560 - maximum resolution and an external monitor?

Hello

I just bought a G560, and I use it with an external monitor which can range from 1200 x 1400.

I don't seem to be able to get the vertical resolution higher than 768... I'm in 1024 x 768 at the moment. 1366 x 768 is the highest mode listed, but as long as my monitor is 5 x 4 and not widescreen, everything seems squashed in this mode.

I used to have a R51, and it served me well for 7 years. This could go to 1200 x 1400, so I guess with the advancements in technology, my new laptop computer box too.

What Miss me?

Thank you.

I knew that this laptop could do!

After hours of violin, I have to go to 1600 x 1200.

The trick was to do a right-click on the desktop, graphics options, output to monitor.

It was initially set to "clone screens" instead of "monitor". My LCD2170NX 21 "display is also correctly detected, so I can only see the modes that it can display. See below:

  • Tecra M2: No. 1400 x 1050 resolution graphics and an external monitor

    Hello.
I use a Tecra M2, with GeForce FXGo5200, Win XP (patched), latest graphic driver 4.6.4.4.
    Problem:
There is no possibility to standard resolution 1400 x 1050 to the external monitor.

1600 x 1200 (and higher), 1280 x 1024 and many others are available in a long list, but the one I need for the Samsung 203 b is missing - even if "no longer view the resolutions not taken in charge" in the monitor display properties is disabled.
According to the manual of T2, 1400 x 1050 is supported.

Tested with 1600 x 1200 on a different monitor and it works perfectly.
Interesting: If I uninstall the graphics driver, I can go to 1400 x 1050, so from a technical point of view, it should work.

Work without graphics driver is no alternative.
If anyone has had this problem or knows how to force the pilot to switch to 1400 x 1050?
    Thank you very much!

    You re right.
Supported by this resolution, but it seems that this resolution was not in the graphics card drivers.
I put t know why the factory doesn't graphics driver includes some resolutions to this software but if it s are not so I guess there's nothing to see. :(

Good day and welcome to the community Chrizztof.

    Since you mention the X1C resolution 1600 x 900, I guess you consider computer either a Gen1 / Gen2.

Here is the detail for each pages:

    Gen1 - Type 34xx
    https://support.Lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ThinkPad-X-series-laptops/ThinkPad-x1...

There is support for an external monitor through VGA Dongle
Maximum external resolution: up to 2560 x 1600

    Gen2 - Types A 20, 7, 20A 8
    https://support.Lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ThinkPad-X-series-laptops/ThinkPad-x1...

Just for comparison, here is the link Gen3:

    Gen3 - 20BS, 20BT Types
    https://support.Lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ThinkPad-X-series-laptops/ThinkPad-x1...

    Max resolution: 3840 x 2160 (Mini DisplayPort) @60 Hz; 4096 x 2304 (HDMI) @24 Hz

Note that the Gen2 page does not have a specific indication of the external monitor supported maximum resolution. If I find more detailed resources, I'll post them.

I hope this helps a little.

    Kind regards.

  • X 220 and an external monitor FHD?

    Hello

I really like x 220, but also heard that the D - sub port can give a good display quality on large screens, say 1080 p. It is said that the sub - D cannot provide enough bandwidth or something like that.   1366 * 768 being the only option, I'll probably need an external monitor to deal with my work (not graphic-heavy tho, so integrated map is correct, and FHD is preferred for the films ).  Could someone here check it out?  If that's true, I might go for t420s with display port.

    Thank you

The x 220 has a DisplayPort as well, then why don't you use that?

  • Satellite A500 and use external monitor

    Hello

I bought recently (yesterday) a Toshiba Satellite A500.

I am using an external monitor AND the laptop screen. At this point, the two screens are working well but have the same images/windows.

I want to do is have each screen show another window/program running and being able to drag and drop etc seamlessly between screens.

When I bought the laptop, I asked about this and was informed that Windows would recognize the second monitor and would encourage me to choose from a list of display options, however it is not happened.

    Can you help me?

    Kind regards

What you need is the parameters of good monitors. So what you have now is the clone mode and you need to enlarge the bureau. I put t know precise adjustments on this model of laptop, but enter the screen resolution settings and check if there is possibility to enlarge the bureau. If not, t go into the advanced settings and check if you can find it here.

I Don t monitor external and impossible to check it for you, but I m you will find.

  • How to find out the resolution of the external monitor max on Satellite Pro A100-02Y

    I have a Satellite Pro A100-02Y.

I want to launch an external monitor but don't have any idea how big a monitor will deal graphics drivers. How will I know?

    Thanks for any help.

    Hello

You should keep one fact in mind that the available screen resolution depends on the graphics card and the graphics card driver.
If I'm not mistaken, you can find the max somewhere graphics card resolution information in the user manual.

But note; If the graphics card driver does not support you favorite resolution then you will not be able to use and to choose!

In the properties of the graphics card, you can find the available screen are supported by GPU driver resolutions.
Usually these resolutions could be used on the external monitor, but only if the external monitor takes care of everything.

    Best regards

  • Maximum resolution and automatic adjustment of the issues U2713HM

I am putting in place of new U2713HM monitors on two Optiplex 9020 running Windows and Ubuntu machines and some problems:

-The maximum resolution apparently can only be obtained using a Display Port cable that was * not * included with the screen. The Dual Link DVI - D cable is completely useless because the maximum resolution, it allows is 1920 x 1080. The only information which were available on the manual and CD that came with the monitor has proposed upgrading drivers (which increased to date already) and mention anything about who need a different cable.

-The most aggravating the problem: using the VGA cable (which while allowing a better resolution than DVI), if the computer is started in Windows it will blink once a message of 'current auto adjustment' and then get stuck on a white screen. This happens as well when starting cold or when restarting and seems not to be resolved by resetting the factory settings screen. The question is not present if the computer is booted with Ubuntu. He also doesn't seem to be a problem with the specific computer, the cable VGA or the monitor that I have several of each to close at hand and tried with the same result.

Does anyone have a solution for the second question? I don't have a screen Display Port at the moment and would like to do in the meantime, the use of the best resolution. Or if anyone knows how to set the maximum resolution using the DVI cable (if possible), which would also be useful.

    Thank you.

  • View two different windows simultaneously with an internal and an external monitor

Display two different windows on external and internal monitors at the same time?

    Yes, you can.

When you connect an external monitor, its pixels are added to the screen integrated to create an extended desktop. If you get a double built-in, just disable fill video. The pane organize you allows to place each tiny in the same way screen icons, they are arranged on your bench, and then the mouse moves correctly on the boundary between displays, and you can drag and drop Windows where you want.

  • Windows jump out of the screen and an external monitor

I have an external monitor connected to my MacBook Air.  When I turn off the external monitor (MacBook cover is already closed at that time) and return hours later to turn on the monitor, I find most of my windows have been dispersed (jumped) off the screen.  It occurs on multiple applications: terminal, iMail, browser Chrome, Preview, etc...  I usually find the window peeking out of the side of the screen - a small shard of window - and I have to drag it to the center of the screen.  I have to do for almost all windows (again not all windows to do this).  Its very annoying.  Any ideas on what is the cause?

I am running v10.11.1 El Capitan (B 15, 42) on MacBook Air (13 inch, mid 2013).  External monitor is Dell.

I forgot to mention.  It happens all of a sudden... eventually after the upgrade to El Capitan?  (but I am not sure).

He used to do this permanently on Yosemite.

I was curious office depot on this desktop computer and I was told the oveheats cell phone when an external monitor is hooked up to it and I was wondering why there is a vga first port if that's the question

    Hello

There are few things that I would like to say:

    1. the machine doesn't have a VGA port. There

    • 2 superSpeed USB 3.0
    • 1 universal serial (USB) 2.0 bus
    1 HDMI
    • 1 RJ-45 (LAN)
    • 1 plug headphone-out/microphone-in the drop-down list

The HDMI port is to connect to an external monitor pre BIGfor you to enjoy games if you wish.

2 right, I connect to external monitors almost all of my laptops.

Play games on your laptop can still cause "overheating", anything.

    Kind regards.
