  my system is DIMENSION 9200/XPS 410
  I just installed windows xp sp3 and noticed that there is no sound. I went to the Device Manager and saw this:

• HP G60-235: upgrading to Windows 7 after hard drive failure

  First of all I would like to say that I hope that it is in the right part of the Forum, if it not is not please let me know.

  I have a G60-235 HP running Vista.

  My hard drive has failed and that I had tested and it is unusable. I replaced the hard drive with an SSD and don't have an operating system.

  I can't get into the Bios and there may be some info that is needed, f, so please let me know and I'll post it.

  Is - this here anyway to check to see if my HP can handle Windows 7? I downloaded the Windows 7 advisory.

  I also looked for the evaluation version of Windows 7. I could not find. The link I followed by searching showed me the evaluation for 8.1 version.

  I would not buy the full version and find out it does not work, but I also prefer to go back to Vista is possible.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  Your model must run Windows 7 well. There are even Win 7 drivers posted at HP. There are 3 different models of G60 235 (CA, DX, WM) listed, but this is an example:

  I found a solution to our problem! I installed this driver Windows 7 in compatibility mode.   I am very disappointed with these problems. I bought a copy of OEM OS-Windows 7 PRO 64 bit and would like to downgrade from Windows-8 to-Windows 7 PRO 64-bit OS. Can you please provide me with instructions to install Windows - 7 PRO on my PC?

  HP Pavilion G6-2244NR network problems.  Okay, so I have a G6-2244NR I had to downgrade to Windows 7 Pro 64 (SP1), due to software compatibility issues.  Install was initially conducted on UEFI, GPT, wiped 8 and started from scratch with Legacy support MBR.  Installation went perfectly well.  However, I start in 7 and I get the network icon showing a red X.  I then go into Manager and note that there is no network listed devices.  Instead, I have 8 devices listed under "Other devices" with yellow exclamations by each of them.  This includes the Bluetooth controller, the network, a PCI device controller, Ethernet controller, SM Bus controller, two USB controllers and an "unknown device".  Bluetooth ID is ven_1814 & dev 3298, Ethernet ID PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_8136 and so on.  I downloaded the drivers on the wazoo.  I think that I have updated the chipset but know not so straight updates chipset (catalyst 12.6).  Still no luck.  Whenever I have try and install what I think are good drivers I get the error "device works not ' on the LAN card.  Can anyone help?

  • The license key for 7 I am using is used on another pc downgraded, as well as the pc that it originates
  • I talked to 2 different people at Microsoft. The first says windows 7 must be uninstalled from the previous computer until I can activate it. Is this true? What the point of having a windows 8 license then?
  • The second person told me to contact the computer manufacturer to obtain a license of windows 7. This is not an option for me.

  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  OEM Windows 8.0/8.1 Professional (Major) comes with downgrade rights.

  Windows 8.0/8.1 Professional Retail doesn't.

  For OEMS of Windows 8.1 a single system locked preinstallation SLP key is a unique 25-digit product key integrated in the UEFI BIOS.

  For Windows 7 OEM SLP credits is entered from the installation media. This key works only if the markers in the BIOS are present, it is that the BIOS is checked by the OEM. For this reason, you need to an OEM license and support OEM installation.

  I have a SAT PRO S300-11 since January 2009. It came with CD to downgrade to Windows XP, and I did several times over the years without any problem. But now I do and what finish to downgrade, when done last reset, windows starts to have problems and doesn t work.

  But if I do not the last reset on arrival of the downgrade the machine works perfectly, but when I do reboot then when windows starts it works. I try 5 times and still the same. I come back to windows original vista (I did CD to do) and it happens the same problem.

  Do you mean by reset? Do you mean, finally, restart?

  By default the BIOS settings and try to reinstall Windows XP Home edition recovery image.
