The computer will run on battery but battery does not charge when it is plugged.  However, the battery may charge if I turn off the computer or if I close the lid.  In addition, the computer does not at all with the battery removed and just the power supply plugged.  So, I know the power supply work it will charge the battery if the computer is off, but it would be nice if it would charge when the computer is turned on.  I also tried the "hard reset" procedure, but it failed.  The charged battery (9-cell Li ion) can run several hours depending on usage.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  I understand that your laptop rowed when connected to the charger, and that you have noticed that this never happens when the load level exceeds 80%.   I'm happy to help you with this.

From your description, this fix seems custom-made for you: HP ENVY laptop - the computer is slow or does not respond while that connected to the charger. As you can see that he mentions about the same problem but the break is 60% or less.  Try it and tell me if that solves the problem.

  • HP ENVY notebook: battery not charging!

    Hello

I recently bought a HP ENVY laptop, and I've updated my windows edition to Windows 10.

2 weeks ago, I noticed that my battery no longer works. It does not load: its says "plugged in, load" but its not charging.

now my battery is empty, (say 3%) and my laptop 'nine', which isn't that 2 months, does not come on unless it is plugged.

You have a solution to my problem?

PS: I tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers of the battery from the Device Manager, but nothing happened!

Is it a windows update problem or a battery problem, although my laptop has only 2 months?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Hi there @Rodgee,

Welcome to the HP support community where you can ask questions, find solutions and get help from others in the community! I wanted to join you and help! I understand that your battery will not charge on your HP ENVY laptop PC. You mentioned you tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers and that you are not sure if this is a problem with the battery of Windows updates.

Please make sure that the AC adapter cable is not plugged into a power strip, surge arrester, or secondary power source. It should be directly into a wall outlet.

There are a couple of documents that you can use to try to understand where is the problem. The first one I would say is the document of the battery is not Notebook Power or hold a Charge . If your laptop battery will not hold a charge, you better follow the instructions in this document step by step to fix the battery and see if it needs to be replaced.

You can also use the document test and calibration of the battery (Windows 8) . This will help you determine the status of your battery.

Have you tried to use the HP Support Assistant to download drivers and updates? Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you need it. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that needs updating.

This answer doesn't solve your problem or answer your question? If so, please share the good news! Inform others that this answer was helpful by clicking on the button accept as a Solution . You can also show your appreciation by clicking thumbs-up.

If you need assistance, I would be more than happy to continue to help you. Please re-post with the troubleshooting results and include your model number (How can I find my model number or product number?).

    Thank you!

    Have a great day!

  • HP Envy 14 - battery charging

Hello, my Hp envy 14 with Windows 7 does not accept its 19, 5V charger used more, but only accepts charging to 19V.

HP AC travel adapter model: REPLACEMENT-CA26
    Input: 100-240 V - 1.6 has 50-60 Hertz
    Released: 19.5V 4.62 A, 5V

Now, I managed to charge the battery with an old model HP AC adapter: PPP012L-E
    Input: 100-240V 50-60 Hz 1. 5A
    Output: 19V 4. 74A

The charge is complete and the laptop works very well with this method. However let me know what is the cause of the problem, and if this method of recharging is dangerous for my laptop / battery.

I know with certainty that it is not the charger, I have two of them (a new one) and none of them no longer works.

I thank very you much in advance!

    RO - Ha wrote:

But that's exactly what I do not understand. I received two charger or adaptors (19, 5V) HP last year. When those I had used until now suddenly offered no more than my laptop, I got the second of which I had never used it before.

I was very surprised when this one also did not work. If you are indeed say that most probably both my 2 HP power adpaters original are both broken, even if one of them has never been used and must be completely new?

At least it's better than having a problem with the laptop or battery.

    Thank you very much!

Yes. If you get the same result on the two original power supply, then they both failed. You verified that the motherboard was okay when you managed to charge the battery with the power adapter low voltage. The successful load means that the battery is OK.

  • Pavilion DV6: Laptop battery

    Hi there everyone

I wonder if someone can help me here. I have my computer laptop battery die and I am looking for a replacement. Really not found on the market a battery with the same characteristics as follows:

    55Wh

Can someone tell me please in the right direction to get a new battery?

    Thanks in advance.

    See you soon

No, but understand this isn't a real HP battery. The working hypothesis is simply the ability of the cells. Watt hours. It does not affect the current quantity battery provides the laptop at all times.

  • Should I completely drain my laptop battery?

I have a Satellite A660 laptop. I read that you should completely discharge batteries every month so that the charger can recalibrate what is 0% and 100%. This applies to this laptop? It also means that disable the hibernation security feature when the load decreases by 8%. It does not mean that the heads of the disk block once cost matrices?

On the net, you can find many articles and discussions about this. In most cases, it is recommended using power supply battery only laptop battery discharge completely. Should not be 0% and in power options, you can set the action of critical-battery and critical battery level so this notebook can be turned off or hibernation before the battery is completely discharged.

I found a very interesting page on the battery maintenance and you can find it here.

  • HP ENVY laptop - 15 - ae101no: control of the Volume on the keyboard keys do not work!

    Hello

Volume control keys had suddenly stopped working, and I have no idea why. I have the model HP ENVY laptop - 15-ae101no (ENERGY STAR). Could you please help me fix it? Thank you!

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download Realtek HD Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp74501-75000/sp74867.exe

When finished, press and hold the Windows key and press R

In the run window, type devmgmt.msc and press to enter.

In Device Manager, expand sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the Realtek device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you are finished, download and reinstall the Chipset driver at the following link.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp72001-72500/sp72105.exe

When the reinstallation of Chipset is finished, stop the laptop.

Disconnect the power adapter and then hold button power supply for 30 seconds, then release.

    Plug the power adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the default values (sometimes it is f5, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

When windows has reloaded, open your download folder, right click on the installer of Realtek and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, reboot the laptop and let windows load completely for a few minutes before checking.

    Kind regards

  • HP Envy 15 t (G0T59AV): HP Envy laptop speaker poor sound quality (particularly acute) as the volume increases.

I had been without my HP Envy laptop a few weeks after he bricked on me and I had to send in for repair, and when I came back the sound quality seems to be noticeably worse than what I remember. The sound in general seems a little intestine initially, and it does not handle certain tones fine treble, producing shrill notes that almost seem like they're clipping or something, as if it's too much for the speaker to manage. The volume level refers to it - it's much worse at higher volumes, but its volumes, it should be able to manage, and has dealt in the past. 30 is basically normal, I'll hear parts of it start happening about 40 volume or so, 60 sounds evil, and 80 is almost inaudible.

My first suspect is the dustbin of Beats Audio with what they sent this thing.  He gave me problems before. I fiddled with the Beats Audio settings for a bit and couldn't find a lot of luck. The strange thing is, I searched Beats Audio driver updates, and I came to the top completely empty. All links to them were either broken, be directed to the page of HP support containing the drivers for the specific device model questioned. The driver for my laptop page shows nothing about the drivers of beats. And my device manager doesn't seem to show that no driver present Beats, either, even though I SWEAR there drivers for them in the past. The only present audio device is the Realtek HD Audio driver. The Beats Audio utility in the taskbar does not seem to think there is something wrong, however, so I don't know what's the case. Can someone help me?

(I know of no reason that the question I sent my laptop in for repair would be linked to this, nor do I have any reason to believe that the person who repaired the laptop could have done anything, as all my files on my HDD seem to have been completely intact, but just for the sake of rigour : A couple of weeks, apparently caused by me accidentally stick a 3.5 mm headphone jack into the adjacent USB and damaged brick my laptop. The computer, stop immediately, if she was able to start right back up. The next morning, it was completely insensitive and would not start until it was. I knew with certainty that it is the USB at the time, I thought that it was unlikely that a damaged USB port might cause a full brick computer, but when I got back from repair, the repair summary said that the only thing to do for she was replacing a USB port.  Other than the good question, my computer was working perfectly since.)

    Hi all!

Last weekend, I upgraded the RAM in my laptop HP ENVY laptop - 15-k277ca.

The machine has 1 module of 8 GB by factory, so I bought another module of 8 GB (same brand and same rate).

But the problem is that the machine does not recognize this second module, neither in the BIOS nor so

    I am running Windows company 10 x 64.

The weird part is that I downloaded the CPU-Z, and this software recognizes the two modules.

    Any idea?

Here is the image of the CPU - Z software (where memories are recognized)

See tensions? You've mixed low-voltage and voltage regular memory. They can be the same machine and the speed, but they are not the same tension. This will cause problems as you see. The computer is designed to work the DDR3L memory (1.35 volts). When you correspond to the modules, you really need to match modules. Can you confirm part numbers printed on both modules and the specifications on the labels?
