Gains of RAM?

Anyone have any suggestions, advice, tips ect. on getting the 2015 CC version to use less memory - I'm shocked how much more it is using.  Sitting here idling, nothing open - 571 megs of RAM used, and that's not counting the five instances of "Adobe CEP HTML engine" that run to between 10.5 and 30 K each.

Provided by the employer the computer that is running Windows 7, 32-bit, with 4 GB of RAM.

I'm sorry if this sounds glib, but Photoshop is not designed to use the 32-bit systems from CS3 or CS4.  You could try to explain to your employer that with all the time you spend waiting for things with Photoshop, it would be more cost-effective to replace the computer.  In addition, they will receive tax relief on a new system. It is also likely that a 32-bit system with 4 GB of RAM is unlikely to be compatible with the GPU acceleration, so many of the tools that your employer pay with CC2015 will not be usable.

Meanwhile, there are various pages around the optimization of your system for Photoshop

https://helpx.Adobe.com/Photoshop/KB/optimize-performance-Photoshop.html

Good luck

[EDIT]

I thought I would add that some applications Adobe CC won't install not even on 32-bit systems.  Premiere Pro and After Effects come to mind. SpeedGrade and Prelude follow, but you wouldn't have those without Premiere Pro still.   I'm sure Adobe will hold as long as possible only from the perspective of losing sales, but things like the video editing and 3D are probably compromised with 32 bit, it feels inevitable that Photoshop will work one day is more on a 32-bit system.

Hi I looked for an answer to my request, but I found the same answer everywhere and it does not

He said also only 2 GB of ram is usable out of that 6 GB?

Now, my GPU (Asus geforce gtx 470) says in the manual it has 1 GB of memory dedicated, so that leaves 3 GB missing lol

In my BIOS my PC says I have 2 GB of TOTAL ram? Now, it's an important goal. I have an Asus p7p55d-e pro motherboard. Any help as to how I can check if the ram IS working properly or how to make this usable ram?

  • Is to install a Windows 7 ultimate x 64 in a X 64 based processor will give me at least a performance gain little/bigger with my 2 GB ram?

I have a Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit OS in my 2.60 GHz x 64 based Dual Core PC with 2 GB of RAM DDR2...
If I have the courage to install a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit in my PC with the PC of such specs. x 64 base processor of two hearts... I would gain at least a small performance gain? .. .for what I know... x 64 OS make better/more quickly and efficiently than 32 bit os... with processor intel my x 64, it is theoretically possible? even with 2 GB of Ram only? :/

64-bit is a little faster IF you have more than the minimum amout of ram. 64 bit min is 2 GB and 64-bit uses more resources than 32-bit.

I doubt you will see any gain and might even see a loss.  If you can not buy pass more ram, this isn't worth it.

  • ENVY 17-j115cl: HP ENVY 17-j115cl full specs (RAM)

Hello, my main question is on complete specifications, because Hera at http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04475778, isn't everything, for example I need the Volt of RAM and the speed of the RAM, I want to improve, but I do not have my laptop with me to see. I have gained since last week and he still can't.

This is DDR3L and L means 1.35 volts and is the speed of 1600. Make sure that you understand that the upgrade of memory is not the easy thing it used to be and maybe have a guaranteed impact where that never used to be the case.

  • Satellite Pro L20 - RAM runs with low speed

    Dear reader,

I've recently updated my Toshiba Satellite Pro L20 to 2 GB, DDR2 667 mhz (Corsair ValueSelect) RAM because the old 512 MB of ram would not cut it anymore with all these processes.
Now, when I check my speed of ram with CPU - Z it says 200 mhz, whereas it should be at 333 mhz. I checked the chipset (Radeon Xpress 200 m) to ensure compatibility and it is compatible with ram to 667 mhz.

    Additional features:
    Toshiba Satellite Pro L20 - PSL2YE-005009DU
    Windows XP Pro SP3
    Intel Celeron M360 1.4 ghz
    2 GB DDR2 667 Mhz
    Radeon Xpress 200 m chipset

Now to clarify my question. I would run my ram at 333 mhz for many reasons, because if it is not I had been better to buy cheaper, slower RAM.
How can I use it, I can't access the bios to fix this, how can I access/derivation of the locked bios?

If you need more info just tell me.

    Kind regards
    Patrick Bos.

    Hello

Perhaps CPU - Z isn't read correctly... Who knows?

Also maybe the RAM modules are perhaps not compatible to run at 667 MHz speed. I n t have experience with Corsair Value Select modules

Last but not least, you can do nothing. There is no option of BIOS or something, where you can change it. In addition this speed of RAM will not bring a solid performance gain.

By the way: did you check the speed of your old modules?

  • What is the best RAM for Tecra A3 upgrades

    Hello

What are the type of RAM I can install safely in my Tecra A3 better/faster?

I ran a test with 'CPU - Z', and it tells me I have a 512 MB of memory, having sat on the #1 slot, type DDR1/PC2700 / 166 mHz.

I would like to have at least 1 gigabyte of memory, but I'm not sure of the following:
1: the motherboard supports DDR-2 RAM or DDR-1 to faster bus speeds (566, 333 or even at 800 mHz)?
2: can I install another type of memory alongside the current (see above question)?
3: make a performance gain by having all the RAM in one slot/block, or vice versa?

    Thanks for the replies!

    Hello

This utility is not known to be, but I think that it provides the right information.
You know the software "Everest"? It is a hardware diagnostic application. It's not bad.

In my opinion, you should use the RAM modules recommended by Toshiba. In my opinion, you will get the best performance with these modules.
I found a few compatible modules:
    PC2700 256 MB (PA3311U - 2M 25)
    PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 2M 51)
    1024MO PC2700 (PA3313U-2M1G)

It seems that these modules are SO-DIMM 200 pin - DDR 333 MHz.
In my opinion, you need to buy a 1 GB and use it in the slot one.
In the future you can easily switch from the laptop to 2 GB

  • Tecra M3 - strange observation on performance of RAM (lack of)

    Hi people.

I recently moved up to 2 x 1 GB of DDR2 (533) on this laptop, 2 x 512 MB, and one day a week, there are, or so I'm curious and ran the SiSoftware Sandra benchmark of band memory bandwidth. The result struck me as less than it should be - band values memory bandwidth both Int and Float were ~ 900 MB/s, similar to a unique key of DDR1 on a platform VIA the database of Sandra and fall considerably short of still a single stick of DDR1 on a platform of Intel 855 chipset - and yet it is a laptop running dual channel DDR2 (on the 915 chipset). He got even more interesting, when I removed one of the DDR2 sticks, to channel unique and observed the same performance. Utility as memtest86 +, CPU - Z and Sandra are all the report I use actually dual channel when there are two sticks installed, then why is there no return thrust? Also latency memory test results are extremely poor.

Long story short, I have yet to understand the nature of this problem and, if is repairable, or is a material defect inherent in the design of this laptop. All tests without other stuff running, CPU - Z shows RAM running at 266 (533), 4-4-4-12 hours. BIOS is the latest available for the M3 w 1.20 / FBCF.

Here's what I've tried (may be forgetting something, it will add if I remember):
Tried two sticks and a stick, two my old RAM (which came with the laptop) and the new OCZ. Basically, all possible combinations are covered.
Memtest86 + shows no error after hours of testing on the RAM.
Charge Windows Installer, latest INF Intel chipset drivers etc, without change.

    Any ideas?

    I agree with Akuma.
I put t know what performance gain memory you expect, but I doubt that you feel in normal conditions of use

  • Re: Satellite A200-1IZ - can I install RAM 800 MHz?

    I have a Satellite A200-1IZ and I want to change my orginal RAM memory 2 x 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 2x2gb 800 MHz DDR2. It will work properly with 800 MHz?
Here's something on the processor and RAM:

Intel Centrino Duo processor with Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 processor technology, card WLAN Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN and Intel PM965 Express chipset
    Clock speed: 2.0 GHz
    FSB: 800 MHz
    level 2: 2 MB cache
    Standard system memory: 2 048 (1 024 + 1 024) MB
    maximum extension: 4 096 MB
    technology: DDR2 RAM (667 MHz)

    Hello!

Theoretically, you can use the 800 MHz modules because they are compatible downgrade. This means that the RAM is also able to run at 667 MHz. as much as I know that the chipset supports only up to 667 MHz speed and you won't see a performance gain and you can also buy some RAM to 667 MHz.

In any case, I have good experience with RAM Kingston. I use the modules of this factory always for the upgrade of my notebooks.
Maybe this information is useful for you

  • What model exactly is my Satellite Pro A120 and what RAM last?

Copied from the underside of the computer:

Toshiba Satellite Pro A 120 model number PSACOE 007009EN

The operating system is Windows XP Home Edition.

It has 512 MB of RAM installed, but I would add an another 512 MB - or even another 1 GB, well with the process of 1.46 GHz, there is probably little to gain.

I know very little about computers. I understand that if it's an A120, it needs DDR 667 PC 5300 2 200 pin SODIMM; If it's an A120/007 (which seems possible from the above model number), then there are DDR 533 PC 2 4200 SODIMM 200 pin.

If in doubt, it would do any harm to buy 667 DDR - would be "backward compatible" with DDR 533? And it would work with the existing RAM if this happens be DDR 553? I hope he would; simply works at the speed of the RAM down.

Forgive me if I seem to "disappear" - I don't know too much about my way around the forum yet, but will try to check from time to time.

I also write another thread on startup programs - I guess it's better to stick to one main question by thread.

    Hello

According to this page, you can use the DDR2 667 MHz (PC2-5300) 200 - PIN SODIMM barrettes
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=42661&ft=m&St=3
The point is that DDR2 667 MHz and 533 MHz DDR2 modules can be used.

But everything depends on the bus (FSB) front. If the FSB would support 533 MHz max then the memory faster 667 Mhz modules should be pointing down and would go only with 533 mHz

    Hope I could help you.

  • P7 - 1010t cto Pavilion: upgrade of processor and RAM memory

I wonder if the upgrade to a faster processor and the RAM imcreassed will provide significant performance and practice

Yes, but you must consider a few things first.

RAM, if you currently have one slot of occupied RAM then add more RAM to fill all the slots does two things for you, it increase the bandwidth to access RAM and what is obvious, give you more memeory for your applications and reduce disk swapping.  Increase the bandwidth for RAM access ceratinly will provide a performance gain just by itself.

Upgrade the processor is debatable and depends largely on what you use your PC for.  If you simply run email and web browsing then probably an upgrade is useless, but if you run several CPU intensive tasks then a processor upgrade help. Processor intel celeron and pentium are core, i3 range are dual core and the i5 and i7 are four hearts.  Simply the best kernels if you run intensive taks and i5 and i7 processors support the turbo boost, which means carrots redundant can kick in to increase the speed of these processors according to demand.  Hyper-threading (with several processes running in parallel) is also supported by the i7 (maybe some processors i5 as well).

  • Location of the slots of RAM on my Satellite M100-152

    Hi people!
First of all, sorry for my English :).

I want to upgrade my memory from 1 GB to 4 GB, the maximum capacity (2 modules with 2 GB each). I already have the new RAM, but I'm not really sure of its specifications:

    My motherboard supports 667 Mhz with CL 4 (or 5) modules? (Now I have 2 x 512MB 533 Mhz)

    But most important:

WHERE can I FIND THE 2ND SLOT for MY MEMORY of EXCHANGE IT (1 is on the back of my laptop)?

Already read it is located under the keyboard... but how to get to it then! ??

    Thank you...

    > I want to upgrade my memory from 1 GB to 4 GB, the maximum capacity (2 modules with 2 GB each). I already have the new RAM, but I'm not really sure of its specifications:

Why do you want to upgrade the RAM to 4 GB if the 32 bit Windows OS will not recognize all of the 4 GB?
The 32 bit OS recognizes only 3 GB. Check the Microsoft page for more information!

    > My motherboard does not support 667 Mhz with CL 4 (or 5) modules? (Now I have 2 x 512MB 533 Mhz)
It is not serious if CL4 or 5. Important is that you use modules 200-PIN SODIMM PC2 - 4200, as shown here in this page:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=23669&ft=m&St=3

    > WHERE can I FIND THE 2ND SLOT for MY MEMORY of EXCHANGE IT (1 is on the back of my laptop)?
As you say it s under the keyboard and the keyboard must be removed to gain access to the memory module!

  • Upgrade of RAM Maximum X230t

I have a Tablet Lenovo X 230 (Type 3434) with 4 GB of RAM with a processor Intel Core i7 - 3520 M with the original intention to upgrade the RAM at a later date (it is two years now). He currently runs two operating systems: Linux Mint 17 and Windows 8.1. In fact, I timed the start and stop of the two operating systems and concluded that Linux Mint 17 was faster than the upgrade of Windows 8.1 (improved to 8.0 which has been upgraded to Windows 7). Microsoft friends of my friends say I need more RAM (they also said I should switch to a SSD drive to eliminate noise noisy fan the heat from the laptop).

I would like to install a maximum amount of RAM on the computer, which I believe is 16 GB (although the Intel specs say 32 GB, but I think that it is based on what is programmed on the software of the bios of the motherboard says it's 16 GB). I understand that there are two slots. I did not open the laptop yet (prefer having the right part ready to go first). So here's my question:

Can I buy a 8GB and a 4 GB to 16 GB in my already 4GB laptop or am I have I need to remove the old RAM 4 GB chip and plug two memory chips Live 8 GB? I'm from the old school where we used to add RAM was in the 1990s, where we were forced to install RAM chips in couples with equal amounts (which I am happy that this old method is no longer needed).

You can add 8 gb stick to your own 4 GB (make sure you have an installed stick). Or replace the software 4 GB 2 x 8 GB. To your choice.

Of course, type of memory should be the same as you have if you decide to add a bar of 8 GB - pc3-12800 1600 mhz. Do not hunt for memory pc3-15000, the gain is minimal.

X 230 (t) specification says as portable supports the voltage normal memory (1.5V). Actually x 230 support low-voltage 1.35v memory too.

It is not recommended to mix sticks with schedules and different tensions. Usually, it's the last symbols within the p/n, CL9 or CL10 chain. Look for details to any diagnostic tool.

    Hello

    My card mother H-IG41uATX HP works @ 1066 Mhz with single 2GB 1333 Mhz RAM (Apacer PC-10600) @ 7-7-7-20.

    BIOS is Version 6.08, 07/07/2011.

BIOS it detected as PC-8500. CPUZ shows like PC-10700 work clocked at 533 Mhz (= 1066 MHz DDR).

The processor is Intel Pentium Core 2 Duo E 8400 3.06 GHz with FSB 1333 MHz.

    WIndows 7 operating system

    1. Why does is not able 1333 Mhz motherboard @ full speed?

    2 working memory @ 1066 MHz @ 7-7-7-20 VS memory work @ 1333 MHz @ 9-9-9-24, which is better?

    Khelifi

Sure... While theoretically fastest speed of memory should be faster, there is little or no difference in the overall performance of the memory. The memory CASE latency generally increases the rated speed increases. Latency means basically 'backwardness' and this latency to counterbalance the gain by increasing the speed. Still, you would never notice a difference between the two.
