• Modem cable and gateway Question?

  We set begin to use a new supplier of internet services by cable. This provider requires you to use their modem. My question is, 'We already have a LinksSys WCG200 cable gateway', will be able to simply use the router function of cable without the built-in modem gateway?   WCG200 doesn't have the Internet port where you can connect the cable from the cable modem Ethernet.

• Default gateway question

  Our topology is quite simple. We have a set of 7048 switches connected to a Watchguard firewall. The switches have a couple VLAN routed together via the L3 switch stack. Currently, telephones and workstations all use their ip address vlan respective as default gateway (perfect) but the internal firewall (confidence) IP address is in the same subnet as the vlan primary and this ip address is the default gateway of switches (this cannot be good...).

  I don't want my firewall to do so I guess I need to create a 30 routing inter - vlan subnet as an uplink to the firewall. Everyone did this with a similar L3 switch and a firewall Watchguard XTM?

  I'm not familiar with one of these devices. It seems that you can't even create a routed on the L3 switch interface...

  You have the right idea, create a common VIRTUAL local network between the stack and the firewall that is on a different subnet than the rest of the traffic.

  On 7048 stack, you create a VLAN for this connection. Name it and IP address assignment.

  Console (config) # vlan database

  VLAN console(config-VLAN) # 2

  output console(config-VLAN) #.

  Console (config) # interface vlan 2

  Console # name FirewallConnection

  Console (config - vlan) #ip address 10.10.10.1 255.255.255.252

  Then the port that connects to the firewall should be included in the access mode for the VLAN.

  Then the same thing on the firewall. Creat VLAN, assign IP address, assign to connecting port.

• Outgoing Caller ID question using CUCM 8.6, MGCP gateway & PRI lines

  We have two ranges DID with our provider: 02825911XX & 02829212XX

  02825911XX maps extension 11XX

  02829212XX 12XX expansion cards.

  We have 2 E1 lines 60 channels.

  Current configuration:

  CUCM <----MGCP---->Gateway (8.6.2) (2921) <======2 e1="====">carrier / Teleco.

  Question:

  When calling 11XX we get correct caller id 02825911XX.

  But when the 12XX we receive caller ID 02825911XX instead of 02829212XX.

  for example: when calling 1206 far end caller id watch 0282591106 instead of 0282921206.

  No problem in incoming calls on the two beaches.

  The external mask are configured correctly in the domain name.

  The debug ISDN q931 shows the correct caller until the gateway ID:

  I checked the configuration debug and gateway.

  These debugging come from gateway. The catwalk shows TX - Setup. Once we have sent installation information to the telephone company, I don't think that we can change the ID calls information. This means that we send correct calling Telco part number information (0282921206).

  May be that Telco is changing the number on their own party? Have you checked with Telco yet? If not, ask them what is the number of parties calling they get. You can do a live test and track same call with the telephone company engineer.

  Limitation is only for the registration number.

  With an optimal selection of front door the first time that AC is running on the machine check the answer RTT for each server / gateway configured in the XML file and use the one with the lowest value as the main access door.

  Hi, I have a House VI3 test network configured like this:

  Netgear wireless router,

  Adapter plugged into Port A1 of HP Procurve wireless game layer of 4000 M 2 switch with 802. 1 q (provides the uplink to my router upstairs that serves internet)

  VLAN by default 1 is 192.168.1.X/24

  On this switch, I have 2 ESX boxes with 4 cards each, Openfiler iSCSI target and a Windows XP Pro box running my Virtual Center.

  I have a Virtual Machine that running SBS2003 with also serves as my DNS server and my DHCP server.

  SBS2003 - 192.168.1.6

  Gateway (router Netgear) 192.168.1.1

  ESX1 - 192.168.1.10

  ESX2 - 192.168.1.11

  XP Pro - 192.168.1.50

  Well, with that of the road, my question is I want to set up a VLAN on my switch Procurve to separate traffic by default network, iSCSI and vMotions traffic.  By ESX Server best practices. to install a second Nic vKernel or SVC Nic console, they must be on a separate subnet with a defined gateway.  If I create a new vLAN for iSCSI and assign a network adapter, the network traffic will not be able to see my gateway. I also need my DHCP server to receive requests from any computer on any vLAN individual and issue a corresponding IP address.

  Now, what should I do?  If I create a vLAN Tirtiary or the second, I'm not able to see the DHCP server of these VLANS?  I can only UNTAG a port in 1 vLAN and port of marking abandon any connection to my DHCP server.  On this switch I assign IP addresses for individual VLANs, but this did not help.  DHCP isn't bradcasting across multiple VLANs. Am I missing a piece of hardware to provide ACLs or something?

  I don't know where to go from here, please help.

  To route between VLANs, you must be a switch of layer 3, is a router configured as "a router on a stick", which is essentially a port of the switch, configured as a trunk, connected to the router that is configured with a number of interfaces, one for each VLAN so that it can route traffic between the VLANS. • Gateway RV320 ping RV320 VPN question

  Hi all

  I have 3 x RV320 with the latest firmware to all configure to use VPN from gateway to gateway in a configuration of spokes and hub.

  On all RV320, I can see the connected state of the VPN tunnels. However, I can't do a ping to gateway to gateway or computer connected to each RV320. Firewall has been disabled on all RV320.

  Any help will be appreciated.

  Try the ping of the diagnosis of each rv320 page.  Recreational vehicles cannot ping between them?  If so, your tunnel is up, but something wrong with the subnet configs.

  I would be grateful if you could provide us with the following information so that we can help you further:

  1. What troubleshooting steps all use to solve the problem? Do you use network troubleshooting?
  2. Do you have any other computer connected to the same network? If Yes, are you able to access the Internet on the other computer?
  This problem may occur because of problems with the router or the obsolete network drivers. I would suggest trying the following methods and check if they help:

  Method 1: Test method 1 incase you haven't tried other wise network troubleshooting, go to the method 2

  Access the link below and follow the steps.

  Method 2: If the problem persists, you can manually assign the IP address and the default gateway and check if it works very well. Before assigning the IP address and the default gateway manually, make a note of the IP address on the computer. To do this open command prompt, type ipconfig and press to enter. This displays the IP address, make a note of it.

  To manually assign the IP address and default gateway, follow these steps:
  a. in the system, right click on network icon tray. Choose the open network and sharing.
  b. right-click on the connection to the Local network and click Properties. c. double-click Protocol Internet Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and assign the IP address manually.
  Example: Old Ip address is 192.168.0.1
  Replace the IP 192.168.0.50
  d. let the subnet mask and default gateway are the same.
  Subnet mask = 255.255.255.0
  Gateway by default, would usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
  e. click apply then click Ok and restart the computer and check if it helps to solve the problem.

  Method 3: You can also try to contact the manufacturer of the router and try to reset the settings of the router and check if that helps you solve the problem.

  
  Method 4: Also try to uninstall the network card in Device Manager, then restart the computer. Later allow Windows to install generic drivers and check if it works very well.
  
  Before you uninstall the network card, I you suggests to create a System Restore Point manually, so that in this case, a problem occurs when performing these steps, you can always perform a system restore.

  Note: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs
  and updates that you have installed are removed.

  Follow the steps below to uninstall and reinstall the network card.

  a. click on start
  b. in the type of search box of start of "devmgmt.msc" and press enter
  (c) in Device Manager, expand network adapters
  d. right-click on the network adapter and uninstall.
  e. restart the computer, and then reinstall the network card.

  When uninstalling device drivers make sure you put a check mark against 'delete the driver for this device '.

• Question card crypto for VPN gateway router

  I'm moving my VPN environment at 2811 routers. I move a seller more tomorrow which has two sources who need to connect to each of our IPs, those inside the IPs are NAT had real IPS at the firewall behind the router. I know I'll find out tomorrow, but thought I would see if anyone see a problem with this ACL that is used for the encryption card, is there a problem with multiple sources (50.50.50.1 et.2 in file) connection to the same destinations? The IP addresses in this file are not real output IPs. Thank you.

  If I understand you correctly, no it should not be a problem at all. Each entry in your crypto ACLs card will create a separate IPSEC security association pair and there is no overlap.

  I currently have a WOOF running job environment. I would like to install Smart Grid Gateway on my other Weblogic Server that I have on the same machine. I use it for OSB and SOA.

  I have never installed SGG, but AFAIK you install SGG on an existing installation of MDM.
  I don't know if you have installed the package MDM, but you must at least have installed the package MDF.

  SGG uses some components of MDF (perhaps MDM).
  You must use OSB and SOA because SGG has an installation package for the BSO.

  It should not be a problem to install different instances in parallel on the same computer. I did it for the MDM and
  I see no problem for SGG.

  When the user authenticates OAM defines the obSSOcookie that contains all the details of this user's session. If a user accesses ANY webgate configured for SINGLE sign-on in this area, no new authentication is required. The Webgate knows the user identity based on the details of the obSSOCookie, and authorization rules OAM for this domain policy kick in. This occurs regardless of any load balancer hardware or backend even application. Therefore, you load balancing should not be configured for the post-it, just for the Webgate and SSO sessions. An important consideration is that your load balancing program is setup for NAT or not. This will affect the IPValidation parameter. If the NAT is used, then you must turn off IPValidation, or use an exception IPValidation for the VIP on the load balancer.

• Airport Extreme - static IP configuration question

  Question: AT & T has us on a range of public static IP address xx.xx.xxx.33 - 38 (six addresses). I already put in place with the gateway, subnet. But I need the Airport Extreme to provide more than just 6 addresses to support all of our devices. Is this possible and if yes, how I have set up?

  Attempted solutions: I tried to expand the DHCP range manually in the settings of the utility. I changed it to 10.0.214.33 - 38 (which was the default range) to 10.0.214.30 - 39 to see if this helped more devices, but she did not.

  The key is that Apple routers are designed for general public use. They don't have many options when it comes to commercial applications. You better get a router that provides these additional features. I recommend that you consider the research in routers of professional level provided by Cisco (or similar) for this purpose.

  None of the available options, provided by AirPort Extreme, will be able to satisfy your needs network entirely.

  For example, you can use the network > router Mode to 'DHCP' option only This would use a public ISP IP addresses for the base station and to distribute the five for customers... other required network, but you will not be able to use this setting to distribute IP addresses private network customers remaining, as this option disables the service NAT on the base station.

  Will on the other hand, using the NAT and DHCP option would take care to provide for the remaining machines, private addresses but allow only one device is accessible with a public IP address by placing the appliance in a DMZ. Apple calls this a "default host".
