generation of signals USB-6009

Hello!!

Can someone suggest me how to generate a pulse of 3V/0V to output pin (a01) to change the transistor...

requirement is: 1ms - 3V and 400ms-0V permanently...

With the help of NOR-USB-6009

Thanks in advance!

The short answer is that you cannot do with the USB-6009 case. Outputs analog device are timed software and 1 ms pulse is too fast for the outputs timed software. According to the computer, OS and other software activities and perhaps the phase of the Moon, you can only expect rates to update AO 100 Hz to a few hundred Hz and there may be considrable timing jitter at these rates.

You must obtain a DAQ device with hardware timed AO.

  • Timed software a generation of impulses - USB-6009

    Hello.

I searched for a reliable way to produce a pulse point by point with the USB-6009. My question is whether or not it is possible to produce such a signal without hardware timing or a counter as the USB-6009 supports neither. Is the closest I've come to produce a square with a very low duty cycle wave. However, what I would ideally look for is the ability to produce a single pulse inside a loop which I can go once per minute or more. Also, I would like to know what are the parameters I would be sacrificing to produce a pulse in this way.

I also have access to a function generator and as it seems quite difficult I will be probably triggering just its pulse function in the same way, but I'd like to explore this obstacle before moving on.

    Thank you

    Travis.

20 ms can enter the region where you will begin to see significant amounts of timing jitter. You really need to write your program and make some careful measurements - over a long period of time - to see how much of a problem you will have. Actual performance will depend on a lot of details: the operating system, other software process running in the background, and how the LV program is implemented.  You must reduce as much as possible, everything else on the computer: no network, no antivirus, no Bluetooth or WiFi connection and so on...

  • Simulate signals wired to the DAQ assistant for USB-6009 device

    Hello

I'm trying to send a signal to the DAQ Assistant Express VI.  I watched the movie "Generating a Signal" on the Web site of NOR (www.ni.com/academic/students/learnlabview/generate.htm) and I have my Signal simulate connected directly on the DAQ Assistant, as shown in this film.  In my case, the DAQ Assistant sends the signal to a device USB-6009.

    However, I received this message:

Error-200077 occurred to the DAQ Assistant
    Possible reasons:

Requested value is not supported for this property value. The value of the property may be invalid because it is in conflict with another property.

    Property: SampTimingType
    asked the value: Sample clock
    You select: On-demand

If I select 'On Demand' in my DAQ assistant and run the vi everything works beautifully.  However, I need my DAQ assistant to be configured to generate a waveform AC continuous, not output a single alternating current rippling.

What happens here?  I did not have this problem before on other devices of NOR. I am using LABView 2010.

    Please answer.

    Thank you.

  • Acquiring bipolar signals NI DAQ USB 6009

    Hello

The NI DAQ USB 6009 case is capable of acquiring biploar waveform?  I have a signal generator that provides a 0.5V wave triangular amplitude in the NI DAQ USB 6009.  The NOR-DAQ is connected to LABView and acquire signals using the LabVIEW express vi. The waveform that appears is unipolar.  Terminal configuration is set to differential. Is the waveform which is seen. Thank you. Mary

    Hi Tupaj,

See a voltage floating as this can sometimes be the result of a measure badly grounded.  It would be useful, like Dennis, to know how you have this wired up.  Please take a look at this guide to make sure that the device is properly connected to Earth:

Field wiring and analog noise - http://www.ni.com/white-paper/3344/en

In addition, information about the configuration of your software are also important.  Here's an example of how implementing a fundamental mission of analog input for your 6009:

    Video installation instructions - http://www.ni.com/swf/devzone/ai/

The example Finder has also several screws that already do it for you.  If you work in 2012 before LabVIEW, look for Acq Cont & chart voltage-Int of the Clk.vi in the Finder of the example.  LabVIEW 2012 will have a similar named VI voltage - Software-Timed Input.vi.

  • USB-6009 slow output signals using SignalExpress - error 200077

We have a Council of USB-6009 and Signal Express version 3.5.0

We want to generate low-frequency, analog and digital outputs to simulate some slow movement process.

We have created the signals and their generated as output, put when we RUN the project, we get error 200077, which seems to indicate that we must use On Demand distribution of signals.

If we choose On Demand, then the generate DAQmx says we have a missing entry.

So, what method should be used with the slow USB-6009 to generate box (.01Hz and slower) analog and digital outputs?

These are 2 of the projects, we tried - using On Demand, N samples, continuous, internal, and external triggering etc..

    Thanks adavance for your help...

Welcome to the forums of Steve,

I have good news for you.  I played a bit with the sweep and actually got a code facing up to generate a slow signal.  I went and tested it with the 6009 and he was able to run without any errors.  I joined here, but if you have to open (or anyone else in the future), here are some screenshots of how it works.  If this works, feel free to make the forum as resolved while others can locate a solution a little easier in the future.

  • OR USB-6009 and Tek TDS2024C comparesment

My apologies if this topic was already discussed, but I searched through the forum and manuals and can't find anything.

I have a problem with measurements in parallel with TDS2024C NI USB-6009 and Tek.

I measured the noise high frequency on 10 s window.

I used the data logger with a frequency of 40 kHz connection in parallel with TDS2024C (which reached 250 Hz on 10s window) and got very different results.

On the attachment figure, first signal comes from screenshot of scope data and the second of the NI USB-6009 islogged.

Can someone explain to me why are these so different results?

Different sampling frequencies could easily explain it.  Try to run the USB-6009 case at the same rate as the scope and see what you get.  I also think that the TDS2024C has fewer bits in the ADC, which could also cause differences.

  • Reduce the period of sampling of the digital inputs of NOR-USB-6009

    Hello

I need to read a line of digital input in the NI USB-6009 using NOR Express 2013 Signal box. I selected 1 sample (upon request) as acquisition mode. I need to define a smaller sampling period as 1 MS, but it gives error too short sampling period: "the current sampling period is too short.  Please specify a longer sampling period. ».
I do not understand the reason for it and a way to slove this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!!

The 6009 doesn't have a clock that you can set for a sampling period. According to the specifications, the digital I/o is software programmed - sample on request you use now. I'm not at all familiar with SignalExpress but I don't think that you can find near a reliable khz sampling frequency on Windows or any other os non-deterministic.

  • temperature sensor with the acquisition of data usb-6009

    Greeting

I want to use a sensor with usb-6009 to save the variation of body temperature about 15 minutes and then use these data in labview.

If you please you can advise me with the best low-cost use and the way/circuit sensor connect it to the usb-6009.

    Hi ba7soun,

If you can use with USB-6009 LM35 depends on the range of output voltage of the sensor. I understand that it requires a 5V supply with respect to the ground, which you can provide to the USB-6009 (more than 200 my should not come from the USB-6009).

The maximum range of the USB-6009 is - 10V to + 10V, while the minimum range is - 1V to + 1V, also probably the output signal of the LM35 will be in this range. What you need to do is to compare the full range of the output signal with the range of the DAQ divided by 2exp (14) (because it is a 14 bit ADC) and ensure that the first is much more than the latter.

  • Control of Stepper Motor with case NI USB-6009

    Hi all

I am currently creating a movement control system with a double movement actuator

    http://www.haydonkerk.com/LinearActuatorProducts/StepperMotorLinearActuators/DualMotionLinearActuato...

and two bipolar chopper drives (see table), which should power the motor. We already have a NI USB 6009 in our lab, so I was wondering if I could use it to send signals to the two pilots to control the speed and direction of each axis on the engine?

Enclosed driver's manual indicates that input signals should be 0-5 V DC (TTL logic). I have been informed by the engine distributor that the 0-5 V DC TTL drivers required, the signals are analog. The NI USB-6009 manual reading, there are two 0-5 V analog outputs on the acquisition of data usb so I could provide two signals?

There are often posted however similar problems, it is usually a digital signal NI6009/6009 sends the driver. Looking at the driver's manual, can someone tell if an analogue signals or required as I have said, I was misinformed or 0-5 v DC signal will be enough. I can get more in touch with the dealer if you have any questions you guys think I should ask him.

Thanks in advance for any help! It is much appreciated.

I looked in the manual and it doesn't seem to be very clear. I know that the USB-6009 case is capable of AO and DO, then you would be although it is. I could contact the Haydon Kerk support for more concrete details on the gap between what says the manual and what they told you.

  • OR USB-6009 daq sample following loss, while the loop iteration

    Hello

I am trying to acquire and display data measured from a DAQ NI USB-6009 material using Labview 2015. I am using the wizard daq defined for the differential mode and n samples with the sample rate and the total number of samples registration by the user. My problem is that when the specified amount of samples is acquired and the while loop continues to the next iteration, some samples are removed (I know because I tested it acquire a wave of fishing and there is a noticeable artifact in the signal at times where the while loops - I downloaded a file showing this artifact in a wave of fishing that was recorded with a sample rate of 1000 Hz 500 samples of recording each) iteration which means that the artifact occurs every half second).

I think that this can be corrected by simply taking off the while loop daq assistant and specifying the number of samples you want the entire test to acquire. However, I would like to see the signal in a graph as its achievements and the daq can acquire data indefinitely until the user presses the stop which, to my knowledge, it would take a while looping. I downloaded my vi for reference, and any help would be greatly appreciated!

Set your Acqisition Mode on "samples continues."

N samples: reads the desired number of samples and stops.  Will read once again what DAQ Assistant is represented.  In other words, that there is a gap of time between readings.

Continuous samples: data acquisition just constantly reads the data.  The DAQ Assistant just gets the number of requested samples and data acquisition keeps just read and store it in the buffer.

  • Problem of analog sinusoidal input USB-6009

    Hello

I am a newbie to Labview. I'm using Labview 2009 and USB-6009. I tried to use USB-6009 to display the input sinewave of function generator signal. First of all, the perfect sinusoidal looking at the frequency of 1 kHz, but when I changed the frequency of 10 kHz, the sinusoid turned into a triangle wave. When I test the input signal, I put the 48 kHz sampling and Terminal configuration is CSR. Is there a problem with USB-6009?

You really need to spend some time to study sampling and Nyquist theorem-not LabVIEW. To faithfully reproduce the shape of the sine wave, you must go to a sampling rate 10 times higher than your input frequency. With the 6009, i.e. limit the entry less than 5 kHz.

  • USB-6009 trigger reference by loops

    Hello

I am a student studying for a Beng. As my final project, I want to create a default for electric motors recorder. The basic principle is that he sits and waits for a signal to trigger, how she recorded the analog waves of voltage and current for a pre-defined term before the trip.

I chose the USB-6009 case like the acquisition of data, mainly based on prices. At the time I did not realize the importance of relaxation before (reference trigger) who works the 6009 did not support.

I'm sure there must be a way to use the memory of the computer to create a buffer using a continuous loop that maintains a drop-off PDM rewriting, however I am really struggling to implement this code.

I know that the ideal solution would be to use a device better suited, but having already bought the device and he said in my project specifications is not possible.

If someone is able to offer all the tips of a possible implementation of this solution and a possible example of a similar program, I would be eternally grateful!

    1. make acquisition continues. Keep the data in a circular buffer large enough to store the amount of data pre triggers you want and all the data after release, which can be acquired before treatment is completed.

    2. when the trigger signal occurs, pull data from before release for stroage or store a marker that follows where the trigger before data starts.

    3. once the data post-triggers are acquired, write all relevant data in the file.  Unless you have blocks of data very long before or after triggering, PDM won't be necessary.  The USB-6009 case is slow enough so that you can keep a few minutes of in-memory data before running in memory management problems.  This should be much more that what you need for a motor fault recorder.

Consider using a motor of Action (search for the nugget of Ben on the subject) for the buffer.

  • gel USB-6009

    Hi all

When you use the USB-6009 interface for reading of two sensors (temperature and pressure, using the voltage they generate) and send signals to the valves, my program continues to run.

But after a while the USB module breaks down.

Most of the time the two inputs and outputs do not seem to work. I get no error, it no longer works. When I remove the USB device and then reinsert it into the USB port, it still works perfectly

FYI (it happened once or twice the output still worked, but I had no input devices.)

Someone at - it similar problems or know how to fix this problem?

    Thank you in advance.

    Kind regards

    Bart

Try Max running for awhile. This will indicate if there is a systemic problem or not. Another problem is that if you use a USB hub. Sometimes they cling and cause the problem. Seems TO prefer the connection between the direct computer and not by hubs.

  • OR USB-6009

    Hello

I'm trying to use a box NI USB-6009 to acquire a low frequency signal (~ 1-2 Hz).  I ran into the problem that the hardware supports only with a levy 'On Demand', so I can't set the number of samples, I want or the frequency with DAQmx features in LabVIEW.  Because timing is essential to the functioning of my VI, I must be able to know what is the sampling frequency.  What is the best way to determine this?  A screenshot of one of the sections of my VI where I use DAQmx is attached.  You can see that I'm really the time between each loop itneration, I read a sample by loop.  Is there a better way to take a series of samples?

    Kind regards

    Steve

    Fantastic!

I had used normally the method you described, but has encountered an error in MAX telling me that I could not choose the option to "samples continues."  However, now it works.  Don't know what changed, but in may cases, thank you.

    Kind regards
