GPIB write does not work, but ibwrt in MAX not

Hi all

I am trying to send commands to a very old Klinger CC1.1 motion controller by the GPIB in labview 8.6.  I tried to use a GPIB-USB-HS and a GPIB-USB-B.  The Klinger takes ASCII commands simple adjustment of the speed, the number of steps, etc.  When I try to send these commands by using the GPIB write under VI in labview, the Klinger appears to be not getting properly (I put it move 100 steps, send the go command, and it will go all the way at the end).  When I send commands using MAX, they work very well.  I used spy OR moniter orders I sent and it seems that the only difference is that MAX uses the ibwrt command, while Labview uses GPIB write.

Is it possible to use the ibwrt command in labview?  If this isn't the case, why don't the controls receive correctly when transmitted via GPIB write?  I tried to use the initialize VI GPIB, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Depends on what you mean by "a path". Technically, you can call the ibwrt command by calling the DLL in which it resides. But I guess it's probably not what you mean.

New code should use VISA rather than the GPIB function. The problem may be with the mode used. You can download a NI Spy capture? It is better to download a capture you make using MAX, which indicates a reliable operation and a capture using LabVIEW doing the same thing.

  • Impression on XPS Document Writer does not record anything

When I try to print in XPS Document Writer, nothing is saved.  The dialog box appears asking you where I want to save it.  I select the folder, type a name and save it, but nothing is written.  There is no error message or anything. It is enough to save.  I tried several different applications (Firefox, IE, Word, Wordpad), but this does not seem to matter.

One note, however, is that I can successfully print/save a test page to the printer (which makes it even more strange) properties.

    I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    * edit * I also tried to remove the device and add it again.  It does not either.

After seeing your post, I decided to revisit this issue.  Apparently I've solved it.  My problem was that the files I tried to save to have full control to administrators, but not by my user explicitly.  To test this, I ran Firefox as an administrator, and I was able to save/print the XPS document.  This obviously isn't the most secure solution, so I just added my name explicitly under the Security tab for my home folder and propagate the changes down.  It seems that I can now save without problem (and run it as an administrator).

It's not really make sense to me, since I belonged to the admin group.  It seems that the Windows UAC at least inspire you or something.  In any case, it's working for me now.  Hope that helps you.

  • I have PC toshiba laptop, my cd/dvd. writer does not read the CD software and not able to write the media__

    Insert the disc pls

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

    I think it s a hardware problem.
But just a question; are you able to boot from a boot disk?

If not then this could be really a hardware problem and in this case, that the CD/DVD drive needs to be replaced in most cases, it s not possible to repair the STRANGE old the STRANGE old will be replaced by a new one

  • GPIB PCI does not connect to agilent 35670 A * IDN? query does not

Newbie here. I try to get the agilent 35670A to transfer data using labview with gpib problem lies in the fact that I can't start because my pci card does not recognize the agilent. Ive downloaded a driver ahead of the hand. measurement and Automation Explorer is not with the entrance to the correct address. I am at a loss of where to go next.

It is simply not true. You do NOT set the address of the GPIB controller at the same address for any instrument that you have connected. You should have just left alone to the default address of 0. I would say that finding a GPIB tutorial. Each device on the bus must have a unique address.

  • DVD writer does not recognize 'NEW' blank DVD - r (Windows XP)

    Hello

I have a question that has been annoying me a lot during the last few weeks, as follows...

I have a Dell Optiplex GX620 computer is running Windows XP service pack 3, it has a cd/DVD burner in this model (HL-DT-ST DVD +-RW GWA4164B), I used to be able to burn CDs and DVDs fine, so please respond with lol 'maybe your drive doesn't burn DVDs' as you can see in the model # it's a DVD +-RW drive.

But my problem is the following... for some reason the DVD burner does not detect the 'NEW' blank DVD - R, there is no problem of detection of blank CD - R disc and I can burn fine on the CD - R. But for some reason it does not detect blank DVD?

When I put one in the drive, I don't get the popup asking what I want to do etc, or to go to WORKSTATION and look a the drive it shows no media present.

I have Nero Platinum 15 installed in my burning software, which has a function of DISK INFORMATION, which also shows that 'no disk in drive '.

    I have re installed Nero...

I uninstalled the drive and re installed

Re, I installed the latest drivers for Dell Optiplex

I bought a second axis of new blank DVDs

I took out what I left little hair!

Can someone provide me with a fix for this problem? ANY help is GREATLY appreciated guys!

  • At 60: DVD writer does not write on DVD

    Hello.
    I have a toshiba dvd - rom sd-r6112 A60.
It reads CDs and DVDs perfectly also burns CD.

    Problem:
When you try to burn iso image dvd with either (nero, recordnow, alcohol, etc), the percentage indicator has reached 100% and says burn has been successful. But the dvd is still blank. It seems that nothing has changed. Trying to verify burned data will fail because nothing on the dvd set. (not done im test mode :-)

    Please help me.

    Hi witne

First of all I think that it is not recommended to use multiple burning applications because it is possible that some of them are getting in the other. Try to use one of them. I always use Nero burning software and I had no problem at all.

If you use burning software Nero, I see possible two reasons for your question:
    1. you must enable high compatibility mode that allows you to burn data and small then 1 GB
    2. check the option called simultaneous. It must be disabled and enable the option just burning

If these options don't help t, please write again.

    Good bye

  • Serial RS232 Communication VISA write does not

I am trying to send a SPELL of 5003 01 command to my card that I am logged in via Rs232. This command should get my PCB to change play modes.

I posted about this problem before thinking it was a problem with it not sent in HEXADECIMAL:

    http://forums.NI.com/T5/LabVIEW/RS232-serial-communications-visa-using-hex-values-seem-to-be/m-p/326...

    It wasn't the problem.

I use the CTS line for flow control. I know that the CTS signal is reaching the computer of my PCB as I tested it and I know that the PCB can send data to the computer I get the answer correct 4 bytes in HEXADECIMAL when I use the reading visa to get my player to PCB data.

I get a 1073807339 error when I try to write even when the read function is disabled.

The only thing I can think is that LabView is not to recognize the signal CTS go down and, consequently, time-out.

I use the good 9600 baud rate, 8 bits of data and no parity, 1 stop bit. I am using RTS/CTS flow control, but the RTS line is not connected. I don't think it should be a problem that RTS is used to indicate the Council when to send data to the PC to my knowledge and is not serious.

FYI the written string section of the VI is unused. The string to write, that's where I'm seizes my "5003 01" command.

    Thank you

    Kyle

I just thought of it. I had messed up the wiring of the PSTN line. She received the RTS line, I think. I thought I had it correct since the Tx line was correct. Thank you for your help on the problem of the HEXAGON.

  • FPGA read/write does not not in cRIO-9073

    Hello.

I'm stuck with a problem in the use of the FPGA Read/Write control please suggest a solution.

I use cRIO 9073 and I'm trying to place an order ON / OFF of GUI-> RT-> FPGA host. I use a shared variable of the network to transmit the control GUI form to host RT and I use read/write control to FPGA. I also put a Boolean flag in the FPGA VI to control if the control is transferred to the FPGA.

When I toggle the button in the GUI, I see the same change in the host of RT (shown as 16 probe in attachment 1). However the FPGA indicator (indicated as probe 19) remains the default false state. The FPGA VI is on attachment 2.

    Thank you

    Guilhem

Your FPGA only reads the control once before entering the loop.  If you want to read control permanently, you must put it inside the loop.
