GPU & PSU reinsurance - P6674Y

So, I bought a HP Pavilion P6674Y of stock in November 10 '. I never really had the image of the extreme games in my state of mind. Maybe a little WoW or CS from time to time, but that's all. Well, it seems that I have more time on my hands now which means more time for moderate gaming, much than nothing extreme.

For now, I have an ATI Radeon HD 4200 (built-in) and a power SUPPLY ATX 250W PSU. My favorite budget is $ 175 or less. Maybe a max out at $200.

I was watching a Radeon HD 6670 1 GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x 16 HDCP Ready Low Profile ready video card and a CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 V2 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 MORE certified Active PFC Power Supply

I've never done any update before, because I'm not really as techsavvy I should be in this age of technology. So I guess I'm looking for reassurance. I did a lot of research, and I feel a little uncomfortable in what I chose. The power supply fits and looks like it will have all the connectors I need (not sure of the two PCI-E my GPU takes it two? I can't find this info anywhere) with extras to sell.

The GPU looks like it will work. It is PCI-E, I open slots, and it is discreet. I found the dimensions of the GPU to 7.6x4.8x1.4 inches, and it seems that I have enough space in my case. Although, honestly, I can't even imagine what would look like in the matter...

Does anyone have any comments? Whether it is with space, GPU or PSU? Still, my budget is $ 175, $200 max. I am open to any suggestions on different parts as well. I'll take any help I can get!

Thank you!

Ohko,

  • Solutions of games/Workhorse GPU for AE, 3D and other processes accelerated by GPU element?

Currently, my PC is customized with Windows 7 Professional and sports a Phenom II x 6 16 GB of DDR3 Ram and a GeForce 470 GPU, PSU. I used to about 7200 RPM disk drives, as well. Mainly, I use it as a staff, games AND work computer, but now I have a job and macbook pro staff, and now with Adobe CC and GPU acceleration I hope to tune more finely to be a rendering engine. I would like to also keep my ability to play the games of the most recent and - running on Ultra isn't a necessity, but it would be nice to have the ability to push my system to the same graphics.

I own almost all the plugins video CoPilot, and 3-d element and optical flares use GPU acceleration. I also use Premiere Pro to a lot of editing and I love makes it fast, and I hope to someday add Cinema 4 d or 3DS Max to my software. I want a GPU that can give me a few makes incredibly fast while allowing me to play at a decent rate. My budget is probably around $1000 for a complete overhaul, but I could see myself growing a little more high if she was worth.

I look at the cards GeForce GTX 750 series (probably the 760 or 770) for graphics, but I'm torn between making the jump to a Quadro 4000. I don't think that the 5000 is in my price range, and I don't know that the 4000 would be perfect for my needs. My main question is essentially... What kind of differences is what I see in the 3-d element and other features of After Effects between these two cards? Therefore, can what kind of differences I expect to see everything by using programs like 3DS Max or Cinema 4 d? Finally, what first seems to me?

I know AE mainly use multicore, so I'm looking to the quad-core i7 4950 my processor. I was AMD, but after seeing it in action on many products of Adobe through my MacBook, I'm starting to think it might be worth the extra money to get an Intel processor. Therefore, as the 3D rendering is not my main goal, I'd like something that can give me a pleasant experience using plugins that are WHAT GPU accelerated - mainly plugins Red Giant and VCP - allowing me to play games.

If this proves to be a choice between play and work, I guess an alternative solution could be put my old parts in a second case and have a gaming pc, then a working pc. That's fine with me.

    Thank you for any input!

    Katie

After Effects will be no acceleration of a GPU. Learn more: features GPU (CUDA, OpenGL) in After Effects

3-d element could be able to handle larger and more complex models with a more powerful card, but I doubt that the Quadro difference would be a price difference.

    C4D uses very little GPU.

Spend more on a processor more in addition to RAM would make you better than a GPU. If you build a computer for After Effects and first, I strongly recommend to Watch this presentation.

  • Power failure

My computer is a HP Pavilion A6745f (FQ5770AA). About a year ago I installed 3 improvements, a video card, power supplyand CPU. It worked great all this time, until today. He worked the morning before leaving for work. When I tried to get on the PC after work, it not light.

Here are some of my findings:

1 when I press the power button on the case, the button doesn't light up.

2 when I press the power button on the case, I can see and hear the fans running. This includes the CPU, GPU, PSU and case fans. However, they only work for as long as you press the power button. So if I just press the power button for one second (as would normally turn it on), the fans spin for a second or two and then stop. If I press and hold the power button on, the fans turned on as long as the button is pressed. Nevertheless, the le PC PC still don't turn.

    3. the power supply makes a high-pitched sound when he can.

Judging by the symptoms, my diet would cause?

    Thank you

Depending on the available parts, the next would be the power, the CPU or the motherboard.

  • Using the same disk to install on multiple computers.

    Hello.

I know this question has been asked several times, but this question is more direct to me then the others I found.

I ran into the debate on a forum of unknown on multi use of the XP installation disc.

I just got a new job at the refurbishment of old computers, which is essentially just dustfilled and in rare cases have bad ram, hdd, gpu, psu or any other malfunction.

Is it against MS EULA to use a CD to install on several computers, and of course only on computers that have the official Windows key stuck on them? (in this case Win XP Home and Pro, we do not get any pc that can handle more OS then XP, and all XP get recycled accordingly to the latest laws of recycling)

Is there a key over there that I can use on computers that has no key Windows on them, which allows me to install Windows and give the person 30 to 60 days is to activate it after that that it is sold? (is it possible that the key would be activated after that that she was sold (the new owner of the PC boots), in which case I could not sell with for 30-60 days)

I have the CD original edition family and professional, but they have SP2 on them. Is there anywhere I can download the latest version of PRO and Home? or do I me Intergrate SP3 and all the extras patches myself? Is it an official MS website which can help me in creating the update installation CD (with SP3 and all recent updates)?

  • Strange problem with Aurora R4

So I got my new Aurora R4 about two to three weeks, and everything seemed to go well for the first week, until I started to run games like The Witcher, Civilization V and dues Ex: Human Revolution. When I try to run these games I can get anywhere from 5 minutes to an hour into the game, and all of a sudden the entire system turns off and then turns back on.

Whenever he starts the fans are stronger than they were the first week and making a slight rattling too. I have run all diagnostic tests that suggest Dell through their support pages and others that my CPU is running consistently between 50 degrees Celsius and 58 degrees Celsius (temperature BIOS), everything else seems to work at normal parameters. I took off of the side wall of my case of ALX and checked everything, seems ok. Even with the stop sign, The Witcher can only run for about 40 minutes.  So I don't think it's an overheating problem.

The little green light on the power supply goes off when the system shuts down as well, so I wonder if it is maybe a power supply problem, or my take? I have not checked the other outlets in the House yet, but she stops whatever one I use in my room.

    My specs are:

all of a sudden the entire system turns off and then turns back on.

That looks like a problem of "lack of power".

Assuming that the power supply wire colors indicate the 12v rails goes video cards:
Try again with a power of each set wire connector at the same time.
    Sense, with one card...
    Use either P15 or P14
    and ALSO
    is P17 or P16

New with warranty? Of course, call the helpline and use your warranty (but still not above).

Now, if it is on the contrary crashing (without showing the BSOD)... usually pointing to a hardware-core problem.

The ASUS GTX 560 should adapt and work very well. The Antec PSU is great and very likely to have problems in the space provided. It can interfere with connections to the motherboard and push against the CD/DVD discs. Please look at the Corsair CX600 instead. It is only slightly larger than the block of power SUPPLY HP stock and is known to adapt.

  • Dell XPS 8100 PSU and GPU updates

So heads up, I've never updated a computer in this way before. I opened the box a few times to clean the old GPU and replace the old with the new GTX 260 240 when I got it, but beyond that nothing. I know that I need to upgrade my GPU, fortunately, my best friend gave me a GTX 750 Ti 2048 MB PCIe graphic card and I wonder if I could install in my XPS 8100 and already use it. I was told that in the Dell 350W POWER supply is sufficient to run it, but I'm not sure and would like to double check.

However, should I I need a new power supply, I was told that SeaSonic S12II 520 Bronze 520W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 80 PLUS BRONZE certified Active PFC power supply PSU will fit the Dell case but here a double confirmation directly from Dell forums - especially after a call with Dell technical support told me that there is no way to upgrade the PSU. There is also the modular version M12II, but it seems that the dimensions on this would mean that he did not fit into the XPS 8100?

    Ruinus

The GTX 750 Ti 2048 MB PCIe graphics card should work fine with the default power of XPS 8100.
