Grrr! @# $ SMC

Hi all. New to the boards. Also new on my rocket of Santa Claus. Have tried everything to get the video on the player with no luck... Although I synchronize somehow a short vid via windows media player, but it was very snowy. sound was ok but. The MSC has said that the player is not detected even if the computer sees and I can put photos and music out there. Installed rhapsody, quiktime, updater,... has been able to convert a quicktime movie, but still not going to the player through the converter. do not paste the "rocket" manually either. uninstalled everything and tried to start over. now, I can't even download the converter. It comes in two packages. the exe is in one. Windows and the format of the GAME can not open it. I did so many things I don't remember even how I got on the computer in the first place now. Running vista home premium. any help appreciated. I scanned a few pages here too before posting. was on the phone with tech support last nite nothing helps. They said that I needed to contact microsoft to learn how to change firewall settings to allow the thing to work. Later, realized that my firewall is turned off, so I am really confused now. Come on sandisk with us work here.

Problem solved finally. After that 2 days of agony, I saw a new post by the administrator. here regarding the update of the firmware of rocket. followed the instructions, updated the sansa. Check the box to install the Media Converter. This was the version of intervideo. now the converter sees the "rocket" and converts the video to the "rocket" very well. Thank you slotmonsta. We thank you. A little tip, once or twice the installation seems to freeze, but just let it alone, he was still doing stuff. After that, it was done. It was the solution I was looking for.

  • IMac will not close - have reset SMC/PRAM etc - what to do next?

I have an iMac 2011 (impossible to get more info as it "attempts" to close) - El Captain fully patched.

    Here's what I did:

    Reset the SMC

    Reset the PRam

Checked and run repair disk (no problem)

  • Trouble installing the smc fan control

    Hey,.

If I own a 13 "macbook pro, early 2015. I thought to download the abnormally hot application of smc as my macbook seemed to fan control placed on my lap, as I was sitting on my bed. I went online and read many recommendations for the smc fan control. However, when I downloaded it, the MacUpdate Installer was having trouble installing it. It shows that it is 100% installed in vehicles, but I can't leave the MacUpdate window as she just will not complete the installation even if it shows a 100%. I tried to restart my macbook, but the installation window would not let me restart my mac either. I can't even leave the installer as it continues to display the installation process is not yet complete.

Below is a photo of the installation window that has been frozen, like this, for the last hour.

    Thank you in advance.

Force quit the window. Do it through if necessary activity monitor.

Then download the here SMC fan control:

    https://github.com/hholtmann/smcFanControl

There is no reason to go to MacUpdate because he downloader can cause problem.

I use Mac Fan Control, which I get from the developer

  • Reset SMC fails to fix the problem of fan

So I tried to solve a problem where my fans are running overtime on my end 2011 MBP 13 ". I did a reset of the PRAM and SMC. However, I'm not sure that the SMC reset has never really worked. In the past when perform SCM restores, I remember that my magsafe adaptor change color, this was not past. The problem with the fans running continues. I tried several times, it doesn't seem to work.

I don't know that I'm following the correct procedure, taking the left SHIFT-control-option and power keys at the same time and releasing at the same time.

Any ideas how to solve this problem?

The fan or sensor is maybe defective.  Run Apple Hardware Test:

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT201257

Note that an error free AHT is inconclusive.

Open the MBP and see if there is dust and debris inside.  If so, clean.

    Ciao.

  • MacBook Air battery does not load after resetting SMC

Hi all, hope you can help me with this. My model of Macbook Air early 2014 seems to have some problems with its battery. The battery status says "do not load" and it is stuck at 74%. My charger light is still red and I tried to check the status of the battery, it is said to be normal; also I have reset the SMC and all that stuff that is suggested on the discussion Forum, but still it is of no use. Someone had a similar problem before?

Try resetting the SMC two times more.

If this does not help, please contact Apple support.

  • After internal reset PRAM and SMC microphone still does not work properly

I've recently updated to el capitan. For the first time that I had to use the microphone internal, so I went to the system preference, the maximum capacity, the value clapped my hands, but the microphone reacts just as shown on the scale bar. So I reset the SMC first then the LANDAU and now it reacts a little more because I clap my hands, I want to tell the scale bar that detects the incoming sound shows like 5 spots (and there are 15 points). I tried to register and the sound of the recording is very low. Is this normal? What I need to fix my mac (3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB of DDR3 memory a 1067 MHz, GB 999,35-909, 89 GB free)? Thanks for any response.

I cleaned the little tiny micro holes - and it worked:

I also had a problem with my internal microphone. In system preferences > Sound > entry, I had the internal mic selected, and the entry level bar would show some activity when I typed in the top of the computer, but not when I spoke. So first of all, I had to figure out WHERE the microphone was actually and I googled and found this on top of my iMac - a very small circle of TINY holes, right in the Middle at the top of the screen. Turns out I have had covered with a decorative Angel, using a sealant that is usually used to stick things to the surfaces. I removed the little angel and PuTTY... but did not always receive my voice recording in the bar of entry-level in sound preferences. I used canned air to blow at the level of the tiny holes, but that did not help. Finally I found a brooch (thinking it was actually too thick, drill holes of small microphone) but I WAS able to push the small holes - so I poked each other - and voila - my internal microphone now work! Yay!

  • MacBook Air SMC 2013 problem

    Hi all

I have a problem with my macbook air 6,2.

The first question concerned the did ' computer t lit.

The SMC reset and things did ordinary ' t help.

I took down the bottom of the case and plugged the battery cable. After that when I plugged in the charger, the computer is activated immediately.

I have taken over the case and restarted the computer, the computer was dead as before.

I ran a hardware diagnostic test and obtained the PPT001 (drums), PFM001 (MSC) and NDC001 (webcam - it's weird because I can use the camera).

Now I turn on the computer without the bottom of the case, but the fans are running high etc..

The adapter led is not lighting, and when I push the SHIFT, ctrl + alt the computer immediately turns off.

Someone at - it an idea of what I can do with this SMC problem?

Make an appointment at the Apple Store - Genius Bar store for the service. If you need a Apple Store - find a store - Apple.

  • Reset the SMC on Macbook 13 inch 2013 retina

I just reset the SGC of my retina 2013 macbook, I bought there a little more than two years. Lately, it's been slow and fans have worked very hard, even though I have only run programs like Microsoft Word and Spotify. Suddenly, he showed "service battery" in the battery icon, made me do a google search, discover, reset the SMC should solve the problem, what he did. Now, it doesn't show "service battery" but my concern is, or not, it was a real problem? Communities and the videos I have looked at do not explain as "what happens next".

It should be fine now that you have reset your SMC and things seem to work normally. If the problem persists contact the Apple Support. These things can happen over time. Make sure not to overload your battery as you can. Also it setting auto-dormir once a certain amount of time will help preserve the life of your screen and the battery.

  • SMC is a hardware or software problem according to the warranty?

    Hello!

Two months ago I bought a Mac book air (11 '') and now has problems. I give it to technical support and they tell me that they made a reset for SCM (System Management Controller). SMC is a software or hardware problem? According to the guarantee, do I have to pay something? Thank you!

The management system (SCM) controller is on your card mother Mac Book Air. Thus, it is considered a hardware component and falls under your initial 12 months, new Mac and 3 years warranty if you have Apple Care protection.

It can be reset with measures as simple as documented by Apple in this articleand external. Yes, you can do it yourself now.

If someone dares to charge you to reset your SMC, then you look a thief seeking to you charge for a 1 minute plan.

  • Reset SMC. removable or non-removable battery?

Reset SMC. removable or non-removable battery?

    Nice day!

I am considering a SMC reset.

After reading this thread - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

However, I don't know if I follow the steps:

-If the battery is good behaviour

    or steps

    - If the battery is removable.

    My SN is C1 * TY3

Theoretically my battery is removable, but I'm not sure if it is removable, in general, or if it means that he is or is not a "sliding door", as was the case on some previous models. Obviously the text found in ' Reset of the SMC on Mac Laptops ' more or less indicates that mine is non-removable, but I'm just looking for that very few insurance telling me stop worrying...: Pei

    Thank you!!!

You should NOT put a serial number!

in the Apple menu 'about this mac' give what he says about your mac: number, year and model, or a screenshot of what he says.

  • EFI and SMC firmware MBP 8.1 do not match list Apple

    Hi all

    I have a MacBook Pro 13 ", beginning 2011, 8.1.

I changed the hard drive with a Samsung SSD 850 EVO and installed the OSX El Capitan 10.11.4 Version (15E65) with a clean install (format, then install).

After that, I noticed that my fans are working more than usual. So I checked the SMC and EFI.

When I check the presentation of the material, here's what I find:

    Model identifier: MacBookPro8, 1

    Boot ROM version: MBP81.0047.B2C

Version of the SCM (System): 1.68f99

But it seems my SMC and EFI firmware do not match Apple list/recommendation:

    MacBook Pro (13 inch, early 2011) MacBookPro8, 1 MBP81.0047.B2A (2015-001) 1.69f4 (SMC 1.7)

    I found this information here:

On the updates of the EFI and SMC firmware for Mac computers with processor Intel - Apple Support

I am trying to update, but I received the following message: "this software is not supported on your system."

Someone at - it already had the same issue on the fans or mismatch SMC/EFI?

    Kind regards

    Hi the-Mat:

I have the same exact computer and the exact same hard drive. Here are a few impressions of screen.

My information is the same as yours.

The version that you and I have is a more recent version. We have MBP81.0047.B2C instead of B2A.

  • How the new tabs in google instead of avg search by default? Grrr...

Everytime I open a new tab to do a new search, it is default to moy. I want Google to be my default Search tab. I tried ' subject: config' and also disabled AVG Safe Search, "Tools/Add-ons" etc.

    Grrr...

You also have other extensions AVG installed, if so turn them off.

I'm not sure what you're saying, but I know that you say that a new tab opens to a page of AVG search instead of a Google search page. Default Firefox does not open a search in a new tab page.

'AVG Safe' is an extension installed with "AVG Free" search, it is not a topic: config entry, you would disable the zone of Entesnions addons ("Ctrl + Shift + A") or tools > Options > Add-ons. You can find some other junk related to your problem: config and filtering on AVG or all that are in the form of a url on your page you see.

Insofar as research is integrated with Google as default search bar works perfectly fine for me.
