  I have a HP probook 4320 s to which the hard drive broke down yesterday. I ' v tried meny methods to remedy, but that ship has sailed.

  So, I bought an SSD (better do good then). Given that HP provides records of Windows and that deliveries on a partition of repair tools I don't have the software to reinstall Windows 7.

  Does anyone have experience or knowledge about it? Download order an installation Windows from HP?

  Please advice. I'm working on a Pentium 4 Windows XP at the moment. :-(

  If you are in a hurry and want to install W7 before your recovery disks are shipped to you, you can download the version of windows 7, which has been installed on your PC and is indicated on the COA Microsoft sticker on the bottom of your PC.  For example, if windows 7 Pro came with your laptop and is indicated on your COA sticker, you can download the 32-bit or the 64-bit version of windows 7 Pro in language comes with your PC, and use the 25-character product key on your COA to activate the software.

  You must use the language of the operating system that comes originally installed on the PC or the product key will not work.

  You will need a program capable of burning ISO to DVD files, burning, so that the DVD is bootable DVD.

  My hard drive died so I put a new in and installed Windows on a drive, but when I have just activated and put my product key does not work. In fact, I get this day by putting in and then it says character not aloud.

  I just replaced my hard drive with a new because the other HD said imminent failure or something like that! Basically the hard drive was about to fail and I so now the new one installed and I used my recovery disks and all seemed well until the recovery disks have been completed and the computer says to get out them. Then the computer restarted several times and then I get this message:

  Sometimes recovery CD are dependent on the architecture of a hard drive.  If it is different from the original disc, then we have problems.

  In this case, the best thing you could do is contact HP and see if this is the case.  If it is not why this happens, they should be able to help you as well because they are the ultimate authority on their recovery process.

I spent several days troubleshooting, read, learn, and all trouble shooters steps hp gave me hope would be some slap how some sense into my hard drive and maybe he's waking up! Finally, I removed the back cover to check the hard drive, comfirming that it is plugged into the motherboard and all is good! then I see a scratch (I had to get my Jewelers magnifying glass out to see), u shaped a stripe, yes I slipped withdrawal h.d. cover a few days before scratching the back of the plate on the hard drive, don't think that I got it wrong, but I did, closely with the Jewelers tool I see that I removed some of the circuits in copper , I took the blame and bought my own hard drive, I didn't try to cheat the warranty, but i got angry when I saw the robust plastic but who protects the card of 4 GB of ram, Yes under the RAM door is a nice guard protecting are encountered when the door is removed, not on the hard disk where is any storage , its more expensive to replace and I now have got to pay hp $ 30.00 to get a copy of an o.s.   I have a Toshiba 320 GB external hard drive E04X. After 12 months (just as the warranty runs out-confidence) I plug my hard drive true to find that it is totally inadmissible. the light does not appear, there is no rattling, it will not register on my or other computers and all that jazz. Basically, it is totally dead. However there are some stuff here I need grade 12 and he reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally would help me if I could get this hard drive work.

In any case, I tried to start Notepad with DVD with burned ISO of Windows 10 clean image, but the laptop won't boot from the DVD all of a sudden. No change in the BIOS could help solve - laptop everything simply does not recognize any drive now. He goes through all the boot options and stopped at the initialization of the network which we have not. And then, we see just a small windows with the boot option that do not in any way. Computer laptop while still not trying to boot. Of course, it is out of warranty now. What can I do to fix it and make acept to boot from the DVD again? I don't want perair service because it wil cost us money. This product should work in the first place. We had so many bad experience with lenovo with this laptop that I won't buy another their product more.

  If you have a usb key 4 GB you might try to put 10 on which windows and the installation of it, if you do not have a cd key for windows 10 installation I think also there is an option to skip this part that your pc should already be activated with microsoft

  It seems that the HARD drive has been recognized because you can receive the error message about the Master Boot Record.

  I think that there is something wrong with the partitions on the HARD disk.
  I put t know how you formatted the HARD drive, but I think that you must first reinstall the operating system on a partition in order to check the functionality of the HARD drive.

  Once you have started using the Windows XP disk, try to create more than one partition and this format to NTFS. Then follow the installation of the OS!

  I have a laptop HP (pavilion dv7-1245dx) and the hard drive is dead. I had never gotten to burn my recovery disks, so I ordered new ones from HP. When I installed the new hard drive and popped in the disk to reinstall the operating system, it gave me the error message:

  "This PC is not supported by the system recovery discs. You can continue to recover this system with these discs. »

  Error code: 0100-30 FC-3602-3603

  The original hard drive was a Hitachi, 320 GB SATA

  The new hard drive is a WD 500 GB SATA

  Any assistance anyone can give would be great. :]

  EDIT: Trying to recover a Vista operating system

  For anyone who has the same problem, I found a solution. I cloned the original hard drive using the Clonezilla fallback option. After using Clonezilla to image on the new hard disk, the partition which held that most of the data of the laptop is not mountable, however the partition containing the restore partition was a perfect copy. I turned on the computer, hit escape to access the menu (for a list of options such as boot order, etc, which included an option for recovery), and then choose recovery option. While the recovery discs, I received from HP refused to work with the new hard drive, the Vista restored cloned recovery partition without flaw.
