HDMI not connected

When I plug the HDMI cable I have no problem looking at my Mac on the TV screen. Once in awhile, it does not and the display shows not 'connected', while the Mac screen has no 'fear' as it usually does when you plug in the HDMI cable. I tried 1. repair disk utility, restart, unplug the TV, but these measures do not help. I usually try the next day and it works as usual. The problem is clearly with the computer because my 2nd TV reacts the same thing. What is the problem?

Hi there keskeskeksa,

Looks like you connect your TV to your computer and it does not work exactly as it should. I would use the troubleshooting steps in the following article:

Get help with graphical problems on external displays connected to your Mac.

Restart your Mac in safe mode to reset the default display resolution.

If booting safe mode doesn't resolve the problem, reset your Mac NVRAM and SMC to reset the video ports on your Mac to their default values.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

    Hello nancyv,.

I just want to be able to check before you go further than you use a HDMI cable and not something like a DVI connection.

You will be able to look at the HDMI connectors from the following link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01409647

If you use an HDMI cable, in fact, follow the steps from the links below:

    1. Update the BIOS.
    2. HDMI display resolution and problems of his (Windows 7 and Vista).
    3. No sound in Windows.

I would like to know if it works!

  • NVIDIA HDMI output "Is not connected" - Audio does not have TV

I have a HP HDX X18T-1200 CTO Premium Notebook PC.

    I am running Windows 7 64-bit, Service Pack 1.

Some time previously, the audio has stopped working when you plug an HDMI cable to my tv (perhaps after updating a driver?). It always occurs on the laptop itself.

Under the control panel: sound, the output device HDMI NVIDIA said that it is "not connected" and is grayed out so I can't set as default device. I can see the video output to the TV, but the audio is not go with her, even when you set the video mode for projector only.

I tried to uninstall the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC and drivers NVIDIA High Definition Audio from the Device Manager, but that did not help. The IDT driver is version 6.10.6276.0, and the Nvidia is 1.2.24.0. Both are as up-to-date as possible I think.

I work in the COMPUTER industry, so I'm not a total fool when it comes to this sort of thing, but it's me confused. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

    So here's what I discovered...

The link to the Nvidia site provided by maxpower757 also had a link to this page on this topic: No. HDMI audio when connected to a TV by Philips HD graphics card. In case the link stops working at some point, this is what he said:

    • Some Philips HDMI screens may have problems with some older NVIDIA graphics cards that could lead to corruption of the image when the audio over HDMI is turned on. In this case, the NVIDIA driver attempts to identify these views and default settings to disable the audio if necessary. To re-enable audio (note that this could cause corruption of the image), go to the NVIDIA Control Panel, and then select the page resolution of changes in the View Menu. Select your HDMI display in step 1, and then change the connector in step 2 of "HDMI-HDTV (compatible Audio)" and select apply.

But when I went looking this "connector" setting, it was not found. I upgraded my drivers to the latest versions, and it was there! When I put it to Audio-enabled, it pops up a warning, and after clicking on Yes, I could open the peripheral reading window and set the HDMI as the default device.

Hooray! It works again! Here is a screenshot of the setting you would look to (notice the connector set in the middle of the window).

When I connect the screen gets automatically duplicated and everything works fine, but when I try to play a movie with vlc for example I get not all sound through the TV, only on the tablet.

    Hello Cxg131,

    Welcome to Microsoft Vista Forum.

We can try a few things in this case.

1 > do a clean boot to see if this is due to third party services or not. The steps to do a clean boot are listed in the link below.

    www.support.Microsoft.com/kb/331796

2 > if it does not, you can try to update the graphic card driver by visiting the manufacturer's Web site.

3 > please check the same in another port and also try it on a different TV with working port known.

Please tell me the model and the system of the laptop manufacturer's name so that I can search more resolutions.

  • ATI HDMI Output not connected

I have Windows 7 sp1. For a long time, that I got my computer hooked to a receiver and television there successfully. I change the source from the receiver to my computer and be able to play music through the receiver and show my screen on my TV. Then, Windows update has come and it has stopped working. For a long time, that I had to cancel the updates made by windows update and then my ATI HDMI would work again. Well, I waited too long to regularize updates this time and now it doesn't work anymore - and I can't return updates when it worked (too long). So, now I want to just fix.

I have installed all the latest drivers - AMD, still does not work.

Read said a KB on a fix - which didn't work - it does not apply to this computer - prolly because Im already in sp1.

Read on the reboot of Windows Audio Endpoint - which did not

At this point, I don't know what to do. Help, please.

    Thank you in advance.

I found the solution after a year or two to support the windows updates!

    See:

    http://www.overclock.NET/t/1028415/how-to-HDMI-sound-to-receiver-ATI-HDMI

The problem was that after a set windows to update the monitor settings has changed. I changed my hide for that receiver tv/duplicate the current monitor -, and then the not connected thing went.

    Amazing!

  • No sound from the TV using a HDMI cable not connected to the laptop ASUS G75VW.

I have an ASUS G75VW, when I connect the HDMI to my TV, I get only audio through my computer laptop speakers or headphones, while it is plugged.  In addition, the TV picture is only 480 p.  When I check the sound icon, it shows that the HDMI port is "not connected" even though it is.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver on both the NVIDIA site and the site of ASUS.  Same question.  Help, please!

    Hello

Make sure that it has the TV volume.

You can also make sure that the connections are appropriate. Try to connect to another HDMI port as well.

Refer to the section: "Check if the cables are connected correctly" and set the HDMI audio device as the default value.

    No sound in Windows

I also suggest you to consult the steps mentioned by "Karthik Vengaloor responded on 14 January 2013" and perform useful methods.

  • HDMI not sound

Recently, I have reinstalled windows a week ago but when I tried to plug my cable HDMI to my TV I get video but no sound, I have entered in my manager and clicked on see the disconnected and disabled devices that has nothing past. I downloaded the HP page audio drivers for my laptop, that nothing happens that I've even updated card grphics driver after the hearing that the HDMI is connect from there, or something that has nothing happened. I am at a loss, that I am unable to hear sound through my TV and none of the countless links that I follow on goggle me got answers so if anyone knows a solution please help.

    OK... see if it works...

Download and save, but do not run this driver of Intel HD graphics from the support page of your laptop.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp72001-72500/sp72370.exe

Then download and install this free utility for files.  The 2nd file on the page is 64-bit.

    http://www.7-zip.org/

After installing 7 - Zip, please right click on the graphic driver file you downloaded and saved.

Select 7 - Zip from the list of items.

Have 7-Zip extract of: and leave it to decompress the file in the file name (sp72370).

After this is done, go to the Device Manager and click to expand the category of device sound, video and game controllers.

You should see an IDT HD audio device and a regular HD Audio device.

Click on the HD (not the one IDT) Audio device.

Click the driver tab.  Click on set to update driver.

Select her browse my computer for driver software option and navigate to the driver 7-Zip created folder.

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected, and the driver should install.

Restart the PC and see now if you get audio and video HDMI port.

  • HP Pavilion 22w 1920 x 1080 moni: why my monitor in the 22w HP Pavilion not connect to my new HP Omen 870-040na

My HP Pavilion 22w full 1920 x 1080 HD screen (which is fairly new) does not connect to my newly purchased HP Omen 870-040na.  I tried two hdmi cables but get the same message. The display shows a message saying he's looking for a signal - so that it can not find a signal, and while she will sleep.

my old PC Pavilion worked perfectly with this monitor, which is only a few months old.  The old PC had Windows XP. And connected via VGA.   I replaced it because it was too slow.  The new PC has Windows 10 and uses only the hdmi connections.

    Any help would be great.

There should be a hdmi on the video card port. This should be the one that you connect the screen, not only one of the two on the motherboard. See the picture I posted earlier. Do not use any of these ports. They are inactive.

The outputs of the video card will be offset in the ports of the motherboard by 90 degrees.

  • Annoying Message "not connected" when TV goes to the Source of ATV4

I use my Apple TV 4 as one of the three input sources for my new 65 ' 4 K Samsung TV. TV uses its system Anynet + (HDMI-CEC) to control the switching and control of the three entrances (the other two are cable box and a Blu Ray player).  This works perfectly except when I turn to the Apple TV 4 as a source. The screen then displays a message saying "Anynet + source not connected, please check the connections" for a minute. Otherwise, everything works correctly with picture, sound and control. The message disappears after a minute, but is a gene in a good state of market system.

This moved not with my previous 3 ATV. Just, works and worked seamlessly. Only started happening when I replaced the 3 ATV with ATV 4. View from my layman, is that there is an oddity in Apple's application of the standard "HDMI-CEC' to the new ATV 4. One reason more why I'm not particularly excited by the 4 on the 3 ATV ATV.

Has anyone seen elsewhere this sort of thing, and you have a recommended fix?

If I don't get any input here suggesting a solution for me, I also wrote this up as a problem that need correction, on the Apple site.

I have a Samsung TV and ATV 4.  I found what TV is off and ATV is off, then I turn on ATV TV source and changes of starts for himself.  Your problems is maybe because you change the source yourself?

  • Output HDMI not working not not on my Satellite L500

The HDMI output on my Satellite L500 seems to have stopped working in the past months.
I tried different cables, but it still does not.

    Any ideas?

When you press the FN + F5 key combination while the laptop is not connected with an HDMI cable, you will see an option (LCD) only. When you connect a HDMI cable you will see additional options like LCD, LCD + HDMI HDMI and so on?

Also, make sure that the correct port HDMI on your TV is turned on.

By the way: what operating system do you use?
