  For weeks I can't update my Win 7 Home Basic on an ACER PC of detail.

  I get the usual Windows Update screen, it shows the download of updates, but then it shows (0 total KB, 0% complete), while 0% does not change.

  I chose the only feature in the file of 1 MB to see if changes as the download progresses but 0% 0% does not change in 10% or more not even after 40 minutes.

  It seems that something stops the download.

  It is without a doubt.  There were a few patches published today, and I was able to update all my machines successfully.  This looks more like a virus problem.  Have you run a virus scan recently?  Many times, if you are infected the virus will prevent you to access Windows Update.

  You can also use Microsoft Fix It to reset the Windows Update components: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058.  This could also be your problem.

  I'm under Acer E380 with Windows Vista Ultimate, I bought later.  I tried to use Windows Update to download DreamScene Content Pack and #3.  These has failed with the error code of 807000D.  I have reviewed this code under Vista, but impossible to find an idea of what to do.

  I tried RegDefense and Dr. Fix It and still it does not load upwards I think I need to format the drive and try to reaload Vista.

  The first thing I would say is to download the update to your desktop and then install it from there.  This can help if there is a problem with the file does not download properly before trying to install.  Also if you run a firewall\antivirus program you can disable it if you download the file.  Sure, just that reactivate you.

• X930D Major problem with HDR content

  I'm having a major problem with my new X930D and frankly, that's a deal breaker for me. When you play any HDR content on Amazon or Netflix TV goes to the HDR mode automatically and there is no way to return home (my favorite display mode). Picture mode is simply disabled. The HDR mode is actually very well, BUT local dimming is grayed out in HDR mode and I want to have to DISABLE COMPLETELY. That is my ultimate goal: getting OFF local dimming while playing the HDR content. So is there a way to:

  (1) force the photo for anything other than HDR mode mode so that the local dimming can be disabled

  OR

  (2) the strength of Local Dimming OFF (perhaps via the service menu)?

  OR

  (3) affect Amazon/Netflix steady stream in mode 4 k instead of HDR mode

  If it is not all viable options for me that I will need to return this ASAP. Thank you in advance for your help!
