Help! I lost my "network cards" after reinstalling XP

Hello

I have re-installed XP and apparently deleted my drivers.

I try to get my built-in wireless works... but I can't seem to do.
I followed the instructions referring to go to Device Manager and clicking on the sign "+" next to "network adapters."

Unfortunately, it - is - not "network adapters" listed.
Where did he go... and how I get it back?

"Ther is a"network controller"in the"Other devices"section - with a big yellow"? "" next... but nothing that said, network adapters.

I - know - the modem wireless, used to work... but I can't get it to work.

Thanks in advance for any insight and suggestions/instruction, you are able to offer.

  • XPS M1330 can not find network card after reinstalling Windows Vista

    Hi all

I'm passing my computer to a member of his family and wanted to give them a new installation, so I used the disc of Windows Vista (32-bit SP1) shipped with the laptop and reinstalled Vista on the computer. Everything worked fine until I wanted to connect to the internet, then Windows tells that there are no available networks. When I chose "Why doesn't windows find all networks" he stated that "this computer doesn't have a wireless network installed and configured card". I put in the Dell driver and Utilities CD that shipped with the computer and installed the drivers which seemed related to networking or communications, but the problem persists. I guess it's some sort of driver problem (as the computer used wireless before the reformat (a few hours ago) and so the device itself seems to work.)

I would greatly appreciate any help to get this race. :)

    Thank you!

    Hi Chris,

Please share the system model and the operating system installed on your computer?

If you are facing problems with the wireless, you can follow the steps below to check if the drivers are listed as installed in the Device Manager:

    • Press 'Windows' + 'R' key on keyboard.
    • Type "devmgmt.msc" into the box run without quotes.
    • In the Device Manager window, expand network adapters and verify if your wireless card is on the list.

If the wireless driver is not present in the system and is displayed as a network controller in the section other devices with a yellow question mark, you can download the drivers from the link: http://dell.to/QjjZDA -> Enter-> the serial number of your system, select the operating system-> expand the category network to download/install wireless drivers

I hope this helps. Please respond to the findings.

  • Compaq Mini 110 c-1103SO: need drivers for network cards after upgrade to Win 8.1

Woman's cell phone upgraded from XP to Win 8 Pro.  All set up, all the upgrades installed etc. disappeared.  Everything was fine, even got most of its programs to operate correctly and not had any problem with the internet.  Then fed Microsoft forces the OS update to 8.1 (PRO) and she lost contact to the internet.

No other device have problems with our home WLAN, regardless if they are connected by a wireless router or cable.  The newly improved PC connects to the router, wired and wireless, but the connection is 'limited' and gives no net access.  Even when you try a portable WiFi connection with a Tablet, the connection remains limited.

Contacted support technique microsoft: they claim 8.1 kernel is so different from 8.0 that the drivers on the PC no longer compatible (even if winning 8.1 was happy enough to re - install while improving...).  They also claim to be unaware that it even all compatible drivers are available for the cards we have.  This is their desire to 'help' ended and they told me to contact the manufacturer of the PC for those compatible.

Network cards are: Broadcom 802.11 g network card and Qualcomm Atheros AR8132 PCI - E Fast Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30).

What are the specifications for the drivers, I need and where can I get them?  Given that the affected device has no internet connection, I obviously need to download the drivers to another PC and transfer them using a memory stick.

Grateful for the help earlier - wife is not very happy...

    You are the very welcome.

Glad you were able to solve the problem by upgrading the equipment.

  • No network access after reinstalling Windows, then the network drivers HP/ralink 'correct '.

    Hi all

I just reinstalled Win7 ultimate x 64 on my new HP Pavilion h8 - 1360t.  As not expected, no network.  So I ran the installer of ralink (sp57502) to get the driver of network adapter installed and rebooted and still no connection.  I tried the update ralink (sp58084) which is also on the page of the HP driver for this machine.  Still no luck.

I am connected to the ethernet port on my machine that I've always been - I don't like the wireless right now (but it is not available either).  This Setup has worked well on the new machine until I reinstalled Windows.

I knew that this was not apparent, but just in case, I tried to reset my modem and router, and it changed nothing.  Both work well for this older machine, I am on now.

As you can see below, it's a driver issue any.  Windows has automatically detected and installed the "802.11n Wireless LAN Card" you see there... but it doesn't really seem to be available.

I installed the ralink drivers and rebooted so many times that I'm sure I'm missing something else.  There is no other network driver for my machine on the HP site (other that a Broadcom who abandons install because it is not the material I have).

Any ideas on what I'm missing?  Thank you!!

    Hello:

What are the drivers for your wired network adapter.

Click on the link below and select AR813x_AR815x_v2.0.14.15_WHQL or AR816x_v2.0.14.15_WHQL under the headings AR813x_AR815x or AR816x.

They are in. RAR format, it must extract the driver using WinRAR or 7-Zip.

    http://www.QCA.Qualcomm.com/corporate/content.php?NAV1=146

Your screenshots did not come through the wireless card so I don't know what you've posted.

What I want for you is to copy and paste the material ID's for your network controller.

Click it and then click the Details tab.

Now, you see a drop-down list of properties. Drop down on it and select the second element (Hardware ID).

After the first string of characters you see in the window.

  • My Satellite P100 will not read the SD/Media card after reinstalling XP - SP3

I have a P100 and the model number is PSPA0U-1W0012 (this is what is printed at the bottom, it is a measure).

I just installed Windows XP with Service Pack 3 on it because it was full of junk. I used the original recovery CD to install the drivers and installed the SD card reader driver, but it does not yet recognize the cards I used generally (xD and SD). To install XP, I used one CD other than the one supplied with the computer (I didn't want to not all of these free software that come with the recovery CD)

I tried to look on the Toshiba online support, but I have found no information on the issue.

    Please advice, thank you.

    Hello

First of all, you must make sure that your card reader driver has been properly installed and that the card reader works without problem and it appears in Device Manager.
Second, you must make sure that the inserted cards are compatible and supported.
I think that the details could be found in the user manual.

By the way; I advise to always use the recovery disk because the operating system and drivers are always configured and everything should work fine.
If you don't need some installed applications then you could easily remove it from the system. You can also use a free tool like CCLeaer to clean the registry after that some programs have been uninstalled.

  • Reinstall the network card, but there is an error code (31)?

Hi all! This is my first time asking in this forum so please guide me if I make mistakes.

I use a Dell Inspiron laptop n5110, and recently I had problems with my wireless internet connection. Most of the time at halfway then I am browsing or buffering videos, my internet would simply cut all of a sudden and it goes to show that its connected, but there is not internet access/no access to the network. Sometimes, it just goes to a network not identified without internet access.

To resolve this problem, I accessed my disabled device manager then activated my network card and the internet reconnected instantly. However, it was not a permanent solution and the same problem has occurred over and over again, sometimes in succession. I called the guy in charge of my internet and I doubt it's a problem on their side, so I thought it would probably be a problem with my network card.

I uninstalled my network card and reinstalled, but now I can not connect to internet at all. Nothing shows up on my list of connections available now. The only reason why I am able to ask this question is because I'm using my iphone usb hotspot.

I checked my network card and it shows "this device does not work properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31) ». I hope someone can help me with this. Sorry for the long post as well, I just thought that some of you will want to know what happened before.

    Hello

    (b) type devmgmt.msc in the run window.

    (c) expand the network adapters in the Device Manager list.

    (d) right click on the concerned device driver and click Uninstall.

After you have uninstalled the driver, proceed to the next step.

    Step 2:

Download and install the latest driver from the following link network.

    Drivers Dell Inspiron 15R (N5110, Early 2011)
