  Turn off System Restore. If you can still get in windows, get it and run . And get this update then click scan. Then select all the options in the Utilities menu. This can save you reinstalling windows. Download malwarebytes, update and then do a full scan .

  It's amazing to me the problem is often to find information to help on a simple topics in Microsoft Help and Support.  For example, as new Vista, I spent over an hour looking for the Protocol parameters to keep my window help and Support, always on top while I'm trying to follow his instructions on a topic.  All the variations of 'always help and support window always on top' I used, in the help on the computer, offline were in vain.

  2. you don't say what kind of Vista disk you use to install.

  3 have you checked on the HP website to see if these Comptuer models have Vista drivers available for their hardware?

  If there is no Vista drivers, you're wasting your time.

  Equip your computer model number, operating system for this information and see if there are troubleshooting steps for it.

  Refer to the Microsoft article to download and install Windows Help program (WinHlp32.exe), check to see if it helps.
