Help WiFi profile!

Hello! I was wondering if I get a domain I will keep the WiFi settings too? There is a profile for the domain I would like to copy, I am admin, but I can't copy it by saying that (this profile is managed by the administrator or something). So, how can I copy it even if I'm refused? I tried to copy it via cmd with no luck.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question on the Forum of the Microsoft community.

I would be grateful if you can provide us with the following information to help us better understand the issue.

    1. Did you do last changes made on your computer before this problem?
    2. You are able to connect to the internet with the cable connected to the modem?

A Code 10 error is generated in the Device Manager in one of the following situations:

    • Device Manager cannot start the device.
    • One of the pilots who needs the unit does not start.

The Device Manager has insufficient information to recognize the error that spread upwards by the device driver.

Note: In this case, the error Code 10 can be a very generic message indicating some sort of unspecified driver or device problem.

If it helps, try the methods and see them below.

    Method 1

    Step 1

Try to run in the troubleshooter to build designated as network troubleshooting.

Using the troubleshooter from network in Windows 7

    Hi Ericmacom,

Here's how to reset your Wi - Fi connection settings to their default status:

  • Need help creating automatic setup of WiFi for XP Win 7, etc... Get errors on XP

I have 100s of Win 7 and Win XP computers and I need a way to automatically configure WiFi. Some will be made for students and others for personnel etc. I did hours of research on this mega and using a Win 7 PC to create export to a USB key that is susposed to work on all versions of XP upwards. But, of course, it isn't. This works for Windows 7 and Vista, but not for XP.

    Here's what I did...

1 a tried using the XP "Wireless Network Setup Wizard" to my XP PC. But it is defective and not allow you to create an installation WITHOUT any encryption, of course it is not acceptable as our WiFi does not use it. We use a system of Access Point Aruba which forces authentication VIA AD/connection on the first attempt to navigate the web. No encryption AT ALL as much as the WiFi client installation is concerned. I also did a profile exactly as I want only it except that I put in bogus WEP settings so it creates the SMRTNTKY with the WSETTING file. WFC file in it and then edited the. WFC to remove file but then it wouldn't work which is NOT ACCEPTABLE.

2 went to a Win 7 PC as it does from there is supposed to work on Vista and XP too and had no problem using the option 'Copy this network on a USB flash drive profile' and it works perfectly for Win 7 and Vista, but - error on XP with the following message...

The wizard found no information needed to set up a network, or the information was not usable. Try to rerun the wizard to your original computer.

After reviewing the files generated between the XP method to export a WiFi profile to a USB key and how to Win 7 well, I found the following differences, all related to security settings. Of course, it's a bug or a design defect and a BIG problem for the IT Pro.

Here's what my two WSETTING. Resemble WFC files.

    For XP I have:

            011C0F3E-EB0F-46B8-BA95-267ADEA25EC3
            0B4E59B8-8317-46B2-B8C2-C46850162E6C

        0

            Open
            WEP
            12345
            0
            0

    For Win 7 I have:

            01BC3658-4F27-42D1-92F7-3F7CF581A75E
            0B4E59B8-8317-46B2-B8C2-C46850162E6C

            None

            0
            0

There seems to be ONLY two lines which differ between the two files and are as follows...

    For XP:

    WEP
            12345

    For Win 7:

    None

As you can see that the difference is in the security settings that I don't use. (This is a choice made by the powers above me and I have to work with that. MS should keep in mind at ANY moment the IT pro should have the last say on optional parameters is NOT MS)

It seems that Microsoft, when they created this tool never intended be used by computer professionals as they force the settings for the IT Pro to decide at ANY TIME, not Ms.  IE to use WEP/WPA etc, or NONE.

So am I missing something? How do I create an automated way I can run thousands of times without error on XP, Vista or Win 7 to configure profiles WiFi which will have NO apparent safety, but who actually do?

I would VIA reg setting if I knew where to find all the reg settings to do, but the hours of Googleing gave this info. Everything seems to point to the network VIA USB method profile, which would be perfect if it worked on XP. If there was a simple file I could copy from a master system of its many clones then it works. I could wrap it in one. BAT file or use INNO Script to create a file of configuration etc. Many ways I could do if I could find any files, settings, etc., I would need control.

It shouldn't be rocket science. I've seen where Microsoft has said they recognize the need for professionals like me to be able to automate this process for any tech user, but then the tools thay do aren't for the professionals that they take away the option of PROFESSIONAL (on-site tech who knows the most, is NOT MS) to decide, using their knowledge intament businesses must make choices about the use or non-use of WEP etc (it's a theme common in MS assistants, just look at the hack job SYSPrep is based by default on the local Administrator profile profile, a MAJOR mistake and a security risk, rendering it useless in a corporate environment where the local Admin profile is preconfigured with options parameters, links, etc. to the things a pro IT does not that the general user to see or to do but they need on the local admin ONLY)

Thanks for any help you can give.

  • Problem with WiFi of Smartphones from blackBerry to unannounced, need help

    Hi all

I have a Bold 9000 with OS 4.6.0.303. I got it for 6 months and no problems so far. I have a Belkin wifi router at home that my BB to connect whenever I'm at home. However, since last week, it does not connect to my router. Nothing has changed in one of the configurations. I tried to delete this specific wifi profile from the BB and then add it back, and when I do, it says that it cannot obtain an IP address.

My fiance has a curve 8900 and have no problem, it will always connect to the router with no problems. My "BOLD" connects without a problem on my device mobile wifi, and connected it to a restaurant without problem wifi hotspot.

What can be the problem between my 9000 and my Belkin router.

    Thank you

    J

I managed to solve the problem, I tried all the power cycling tips with no luck, so I restored the router to all factory defects and set up again. And hey presto, it worked.

  • Win7 always tries to connect by using the default profile for the Native WIFI

Win7 always tries to connect by using the default profile for the Native WIFI
I defined a new WIFI profile for my home WIFI network. I use a USB of NETGEAR WNA1100 adapter. The profile is configured to connect automatically. I also moved over the default profile for the Native WIFI. Win7 always tries to connect to the default Native WIFI profile and not the profile that I created. Also, when I restart Win7, the default profile for the native WIFI moves to the top of the Profiles list. Also, when I try to change the default Native WIFI profile to use security WPA2 - PSK (AES) instead of WEP, it allows me to make changes, but he comes back to WEP after it treats changes and attempts to connect to the network. How can I fix so that Win7 will use my profile to connect to my home WIFI network and not the Native WIFI as the default profile. Win7 still connect using the default profile of NativeWIFI despite installing a different profile in Control Panel 'Wireless Networks '. I know that I can edit this profile by default, but anyone know how tell Win7 to use a different profile than the default? I tried to change the positions of the profile so that I want to use is facing up, but no, still uses the default. If I try to remove it, it comes back.
After removing the two profiles and adding the profile for my home network, Win7 automatically added the default profile for the return NativeWIFI. My profile is configured to automatically connect to the network using WPA2 - PSK (AES) security and the default profile for the NativeWIFI (use WEP security) is the Win7 Setup to manually connect. Also, Win7 puts the default profile for the NativeWIFI above my profile. Also, when I delete the profile by default the NativeWIFI, Win7 it always puts back and he goes over my profile. This is starting to resemble the Win7 manage wireless mechanism for allowing users to add and prioritize the profiles of school boards does not work. Here's another thing that happens: when I try to change the security for the profile default of NativeWIFI to WPA2 - PSK (AES) of WEP, Win7 allows me to make changes, but it is up to the WEP after it processes the changes and tries to connect to the network. This seems too much for me, it's a problem with Win7. If I could do this job, so I need not to set up a second profile.
The adapter I use a NETGEAR WNA1100 works correctly and I use it without any problem. I have is with Win7 and the interface to 'manage wireless networks '. It will not honor the fact that the WIFI profile that I created for my home network must be connected to automatically I installed. He always wants to connect to the default profile NativeWIFI even if I set up my home network profile to connect automatically. I can do a manual connection for my home network without problem. It seems to me that it is a question of Win7.
    Kind regards
    QRP

Thank you very much - Netgear seems to have finally accepted as the default network!  If all goes well it will stay like this

  • How can I change the network to a WiFi connection profile in Windows 8?

When I connect to a wireless connection, it automatically assigns me for the Public Profile. But, I know to trust the network and want to select it as private, so that I can use the share.

In previous versions of Windows, it was easy to change the WiFi profile. For example, in Windows 7, I would go to the network share and click on the name of the profile, and it would allow me to change it. Now, in Windows 8, the profile name is static text and is no longer provides a link that allows me to edit the profile.

I tried to remove the profile and add it back, using the context menu on the WiFi network and "forget this network". But he never asks on the profile or sharing when I add the network.

    Try this:

    -Show the charms

    -Select settings

    -Select the network icon

-Right click (using a mouse), or press and hold (with your finger) on the name of the network connection, that you care

-A menu will appear to allow you to control the sharing, so to go from a private and public profile.

  • Windows 7 Networking Wireless - keeps his back I remove profiles

    Hello

Just, I got my laptop working upgraded to windows 7 and am having major problems with the wireless connection.  So the first thing I want to do is to remove all profiles, but my main, if simple, go in manage wireless networks, click on a link then do a right click on it and say remove connection, then it disappears and comes back 2 seconds later.  The connection is 3000 miles away, so it's not finding it.  Also, when I reorganize, it changes it back.  Also when I reboot wireless is active.  I was competent in XP, but ready to throw computer laptop in the room.

    Help!

    Thank you
    Alison

I also had the same problem as even after the removal of the wifi profile, it kept reconnecting to it.

After reading this thread, I realized that it is not stored by Windows, but by managers of 3rd part wifi (in my case it's the Intel PROSet/Wireless connection utility) that automatically records all the profiles that you have (successfully?) connected to in the past.

No wonder he's been create and put the other profile to use, as soon as my favorite network was temporarily not available. Just went in his management utility and changed profiles here. It works fine now. I think that most new computers come with such utility pre-installed on their computer now when you install the drivers.

Just write here, so I hope that others might get a clue here as well and focus on something in this direction.

  • Problem blackBerry Bold 9700 Smartphone WiFi grey

I just had nine white bold 9700 yesterday Rogers Wireless and tried to configure the WiFi at home. I have BIS plan data and my laptop can use a wireless without any problem.

The phone found my modem and I put the WEP password correctly but it shows white dash and wifi on screen displays gray icon.

I spoke with Rogers support technique guys 3 times:

First, they asked me to turn off the phone, out of battery and put it back, delete profile and reset, it does not

second time: turn off my modem and it reboot, it didn't work nor

third time: they asked me to download desktop manager and Pocket code file to reinstall the OS. But I found that the link they gave me is Manager Desktop 4.6 which is older than mine (the CD comes with the phone is 5.0.1). Office) I have my mobile Office Manager (Windows vista x 64) installed 5.0.1 via CD, and I've downloaded version 4.6 and installed on my desktop pc (windows XP). But I hesitated to connect my laptop to one of them to continue. I don't want to spoil my BONES cell. For me, it made sense for me to reinstall the OS and even down to the version 5.0 to 4.6.

Right now I use my BIS data plan to do everything (check email, BBM so far). I searched other posts and tried other things like run diagnostics tests, turn mobile network off and turned off wifi, turn on again, remove the wifi profile, analyze again put it back, take out the battery. None of those who work. Wifi at the screen icon is still gray.

Should I try to reinstall the operating system via the Desktop Manager? and what version should I try? Any other suggestions?

    Greatly appreciated any advice.

    Helen

Finally, | got it worked!  Here's what I did:

    1 browser > options > browser configuration > browser - hotspot browser

2 browser > options > General properties > default browser - hotspot browser

3 manage connections > wifi options > highlight my network ssid, click menu > edit uncheck prompt before connecting

4 manage connections > mobile network options > configure data services, FAST roaming

5 with the power, take out battery and a few seconds, back, restart

6 manage connections > turn off wifi, then put it again

7 manage connections > wifi options > highlight my network ssid, click menu > tools wifi > wifi diagnostics > linking > png

Then the brand corss changed to check the mark, everything is beautiful

I don't know what steps to take it worked, and I'm newbie, don't know where is the gprs or GPRS. But I really appreciate people here who gives so much help, I just combine their advice and keep trying, got finally worked. I'm so happy, thank you again! Hope this will help others.
