Helps air and browser-based PDF files

Hello world

I'm if happy to have the forum like that, hoping that sharing experiences will help a little further.

Recently, I tried to generate a browser based AIR helps in combination with merged projects. Moreover, Peter Grainge tutorial was very helpful here, thanks Peter!

My project also contained a single PDF file in a luggage container. After that I had published my file, I noticed that it was not possible to open the PDF file somehow.

So I tried the same with Adobe AIR Application to contribute and worked the PDF. Now, I was wondering if I did something wrong or what I need to be aware of something.

Personally, I don't mind using Adobe AIR Application Help, the only downside I had discovered next to local, is installing the spacing document seemed to be a bit strange. In fact, there is no space between the border and the content. With any other release of single source there is, including the browser based AIR support.

I have not found any similar problems on this forum, but maybe someone of you has a tip for me.

Thank you and greetings from the Germany,

Christian

Hello

Have you tried the help output based on an opening in the browser Firefox, or chrome browser. Internet Explorer has a problem where it opens all files in the case of the browser based help seen locally (security issue with IE).

If you publish this aid to any Web server, and the view from there, everything will start works fine as expected. Please check and let me know

Thank you

    Hi @GTR3,

    Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.

    I see that you are unable to print the PDF scanned documents with your HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-all-in-one printer. I would like to help.

    You are able to print any other format PDF on the Mac, or the question is just limited to your scanned PDF files? Whether the soft friendly PDF work with - Adobe Reader or Foxit Reader?

    In the meantime, I recommend you try the following steps:

    • Uninstall your printer - click here for instructions.
    • Fix permissions of the disc on your Mac - click here for instructions.
    • Once you have finished running the utility above, restart your computer.
    • Finally, click here to reinstall your printer.

    Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post. If I helped you to solve the problem, feel free to give me a virtual h.o.t. by clicking the "Thumbs Up" icon below and by clicking to accept this solution.

    Thanks for posting in the Forum from HP Support. Have a great day!

  • I can no longer open and read a PDF file

    I can no longer open and read a pdf file, yet all the configurations appear to be correct, I uninstalled and reinstalled and still the problem remains. Can someone please help?

    What PDF reader do you use? If it's Adobe, I suggest you remove it and install Foxit.

    If you still have problems, create a file association.

    1. download and save the attachment to the office, if not already.
    2. right click on the saved file.
    3. Select: Open with on the shortcut menu.
    4. click on: choose [default] program.
    5. Select: Foxit Reader.
    6. check: always use the selected program to open this type of file.
    7. click on OK.

    It works for you?

  • I have an annual subscription to Adobe export in PDF, but my computer died and I am setting up a new computer. I also need to download Adobe Reader or Acrobat to download and open the PDF files?

    I export to PDF, but can't seem to download and open the PDF files. I need to download something?

    Hi Lisa,

    To download PDF files, you have nothing else except a web browser.
    However, to open the pdf file that is downloaded, you certainly need to download Acrobat Reader: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

    For troubleshooting, you can disable the Protected Mode (https://helpx.adobe.com/reader/using/protected-mode-windows.html#id_94783) and see if that solves the problem. If the problem persists, please re-enable the Protected Mode to improve safety.

    Under Edit - Prefs. - Documents check the box that says "Restore last display settings when reopening documents." Hide the Pages panel manually, and the next time that you open the file it should have disappeared.

    Help, please!

    Hello
    Thanks for posting your questions about Microsoft Community.
    To help you better could you please clarify a number of things like:
    1. you try to download a .pdf file as an attachment to an email or a Web site hyperlink?
    2. What is the default browser installed on the computer?
    3. what actually happens when you try to download\open a pdf file?
    4. What is the management software pdf documents by default (such as Adobe reader or NitroPDF) installed on the machine?

    However, assuming you are using Acrobat or Adobe Reader on a system that includes a browser, you configure automatically the browser to open PDF files in the browser window. Acrobat and Adobe Reader install the ActiveX plugin files allow you to use Internet Explorer or AOL to open PDF files.

    If an application is installed, but do not open the PDF files in the browser window, then work through the following steps to configure the browser:
    To open PDF files in a browser window, the ActiveX folder should contain the following files: AcroPDF.dll, AcroIEHelper.dll and pdfshell.dll.

    ActiveX controls must be in: program files Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX
    If one of these files is missing, then repair Acrobat or Adobe Reader by choosing Help > repair Acrobat Installation or reinstall the application.

    Make sure that you use a version of your web browser, Acrobat and Adobe Reader supports, such as Internet Explorer. Supported for Adobe Acrobat 8, Adobe Reader 8 browsers are Internet Explorer 6.0, 6.0 SP1, Internet Explorer 7.0, Firefox 1.5 or later, Mozilla 1.7 and AOL 9.

    To make sure that the Windows registry provides the information that your web browser should display PDF files, restart Windows. If the Windows registry is not updated after the installation of Acrobat, then the web browser can not find the references it needs to access the PDF files on the web.

    Reinstall Acrobat or Adobe Reader.

    To ensure that the correct information of the plug-in is added to the Windows registry, reinstall Acrobat or Adobe Reader.If you want the browser to open PDFs in a separate Acrobat window, then configure the browser to use Acrobat or Adobe Reader as a helper application. Then, when you select a PDF file in Internet Explorer or AOL, the browser opens the PDF file in an Acrobat window instead of the browser window.

    To configure the browser to use Acrobat or Adobe Reader to open PDF files:
    1. close your web browser.
    2 start Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
    3 Choose Edition > Preferences.
    4. Select Internet in the list on the left.
    5 disable the display option IN the browser, and then click OK.
    6. restart Internet Explorer or AOL.

    Finally,.

    And there is also a possibility that the file association to open pdf files was damaged for some reason, then we will have Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader as default program and check if that helps. Please refer to:

    Note: The next time you select a link to a file PDF, the browser may prompt you to open or save the file. If you choose to open the file, then the browser opens the file in the support application that you specified. If you choose to save the file, the browser downloads the file to the hard drive.

    I hope this helps.
    Please get back to us with the required information, and we would be happy to help you.

    Kind regards.
  • CS6 - create an index and import a pdf file

    How to create an index for a book, and import a PDF in InDesign CS6. The CS6 InDesign is only allow imports of XML documents not PDFs. Is there a work around for this? And I'm not... to create an index - find the tab from the drop down "subjects."

    Thank you in advance for your help!

    As mentioned earlier, you asked 2 different questions. I hope that this answer allows you to satisfy you with both of them.

    Creating an index:

    The sample file is an extraordinary, but the creation of an index is well explained. InDesign cs6 indexing - tutorial on how to create an Index for your book! - YouTube

    Import a PDF file:

    As I said before, you import PDF images files. You can use the same path than with images: drag and drop, D, file-> Place

    Please pay attention to the 'options import' as you can choose between different "cultures": Bounding Box, Art, Trim, bleed, media.

    For a multiple page PDF, you can choose the page or page range. Etc.

    Nicolas said the "PlaceMultipagePdf" script that you will find in the window-> Utilities-> scripts Panel. Get off at samples-> JavaScript

    This script updates the Pdf pages on a new page. Try, if you are tempted to import a multi-page PDF document.

    As I said before, you can also import other InDesign files. These editable resident files, i.e. you can open and change what must be changed and the imported file will be updated like any other document bound, as Illustrator documents for example...

    Since these files are regarded as "graphics" (equivalent to Illustrator data files), they can't be changed inside InDesign.

  • Combobox1 and Combobox2 = Textfield1 - pdf file

    Hello

    I'm a little stuck and am new to java and acrobat.

    Recently I became an assistant to make a PDF file to be filled due to these forums, but now I'm stuck.

    What im trying to do is have two comboboxs determine the value of a textfield.

    for example

    Option select Combobox1 = blue

    Combobox2 select option = yellow

    Textfield1 = green poster

    Option select Combobox1 = Red

    Combobox2 select option = yellow

    Textfield1 = Orange poster

    I will use the graphic below and want to act like that:

    Option select Combobox1 = almost Certain

    Combobox2 select option = minor

    Textfield1 poster = high (48)

    Option select Combobox1 = Rare

    Combobox2 select option = moderate

    Textfield1 poster = low (32)

    Capture.JPG

    Can I please have help making this happen, I searched everywhere but can not find a similar response in terms I can understand.

    So I tinkered and got this:

    Event.Value = "";

    var lh = this.getField("ComboBoxlh1").value;

    disadvantages of the var = this.getField("ComboBoxc1").value;

    If (lh == "almost certain") {}

    If (disadvantages is 'Negligible')

    Event.Value = 40;

    ElseIf (disadvantages == 'Minor')

    Event.Value = 48;

    ElseIf (disadvantages == "Moderate")

    Event.Value = 72;

    ElseIf (disadvantages == "Major")

    Event.Value = 84;

    ElseIf (disadvantages == 'Catastrophic')

    Event.Value = 100;

    } ElseIf (lh == 'Probably') {}

    If (disadvantages is 'Negligible')

    Event.Value = 24;

    ElseIf (disadvantages == 'Minor')

    Event.Value = 44;

    ElseIf (disadvantages == "Moderate")

    Event.Value = 56;

    ElseIf (disadvantages == "Major")

    Event.Value = 80;

    ElseIf (disadvantages == 'Catastrophic')

    Event.Value = 96;

    }

    I put it in the custom calculation of a textfield and display the number - how can I get it display Medium (40) instead of 40?

    Hello jscher and thank you again for your continued support.
    I found the cause of my problem to the installation of the new Adobe Reader DC.
    The new Reader immediately now all PDF files new downloads to libraries > downloads. Previously, (under Adobe Reader XI and previous versions), this process had to be physically carried out. I rarely visit the source of downloads, so missed.
    CD player is now a very complex program and I need to explore further. Thank you for your advice and I apologize for what amounts to a waste of your time.
