Hidden option is disabled after a virus attack!

Hello

Operating system is Windows XP Professional, after a virus has attacked the computer I had removed it, now some cases have become hidden, but when I go into properties I find inactive hidden option!
Anyone know how to solve this situation?
Thank you

Hello

Method 1: Most of the time this problem is due to a Virus and Trojan, I recommend you perform a virus scan on your computer by clicking on the link below

http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Method 2: Modify the registry to show hidden files.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: How do I back up and restore the registry in Windows http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756

a. Click Start, type regedit in the search box start and press ENTER.

b. navigate to the location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL

c. in the right display pane, select the checked value.

d. right-click and select Edit.

e. replace the value 1.

Let us know if that helps.

    Hello snail,

Do a system restore is not a better way to get rid of viruses on your computer. You should start with the execution of an on-line analysis of Windows Onecare on your computer. Follow the link below to run the scan Windows Onecare online on your computer:

  • Laptop does not start until after the virus attack

Last night I was browsing the web when suddenly I got a lot of warnings of viruses Microsoft arise. I immediately disconnected and then ran a full scan of the system of McAfee, but he can't find anything, so I keep the laptop. Now when I try to start it, just at the point where the wallpaper appears (but), I get the following message - "Data Execution Prevention - to help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program - converter of Cookie by Microsoft. The boot process and then stops and goes no further. I then click "close message" (which is the only option), then get a 'Cookie converter has encountered a problem and needs to close... ". "Please tell Microsoft this problem"... window. The laptop remains frozen, regardless if I click 'Send error report' or 'do not send '. My only option then must he put off, which seems to be quite normally, i.e. "Logging Off" followed by "Windows is shutting down".

I tried booting in safe mode and also "safe mode, last known good configuration", but exactly the same thing happens every time either I can't past the error message above.

Can anyone suggest what I can try?

I am running Windows XP SP3 and I am up to date with all Windows updates.

    I agree with Akuma.

In this case backup your data and use the Toshiba Recovery disk and reinstall Windows. It only takes a few minutes and not so long as trying to correct the problem.
I think it would be the best solution because the same phenomenon occurs in safe mode and last known good configuration.

After infection by several virus Trojan horse my computers hit by the old blue screen of death.

The system can operate in safe mode with networking, but will not boot normally without returning instantly to the blue screen.
The system restore program will not work in safe mode, because he says has no date set to roll back, when I try to set a date to roll back it comes to properties system saying that it should be returning it on the system protection.

All the solutions to put an end to my plague of blue screen and a restorableness?

    Hello!

Sorry, but I think that in this case, the only solution is to reinstall Windows. :(
If SafeMode doesn t you nothing and sometimes viruses destroy the system roll back function.

I had a similar problem a few months back, and the only solution is to reinstall Windows. I had no change to remove the virus.

    Good luck!

  • Missing components of Vista after the virus attack

Original title: Virus turned away from windows. Has managed to remove it, but now the system has missing parts.

It took a while, but I finally got deleted. It looked like a Flash update and then took the whole computer. I have an older version of ERD Commander and boot from the CD to remove it, then restarted Windows and Security Essentials removed the rest.

My problem now is a lot of Vista is missing. No trash, quick launch, can't change background image. How to restore these items?

    Hello

run this program to check it is all removed

Download update and scan with the free version of malwarebytes anti-malware

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/MBAM.php

You can also download and run rkill to stop the process of problem before you download and scan with malwarebytes

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/rkill

If it does not correctly remove problems it can't find and or work in normal mode only the above work in SafeMode with networking

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode with networking with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

    and follow these steps too:

Just in the case where it damaged some drivers

Make sure you have the latest vista drivers for your computer which you can get your computer manufacturers Web site

go to their website and look for a driver and software download section

Enter your model number for the last look drivers vista then download and install

    also run the sfc/scannow command.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions

If SFC detects the main problems it can't fix you may need to borrow a Microsoft dvd vista not an acer, HP etc. recovery disk and do a repair installation

read the below tutorial on how to perform a repair installation

  • Tecra M5 starts does not after suspected virus attack

    Hi all
I don't know that it is an easy question for talent here. I'm not good with laptops, so if you could answer in simple terms that would be great.

I have an old Tecra M5 I use only for I-tunes and occasional browsing.

I used the laptop when the software anti-virus (avast) began flashing a lot of threats - questions. The lack of battery laptop that the software has been identify them and now I can not re - turn on the laptop. When I turn on the usual "BOLD" red "TOSHIBA" comes on the screen then the screen turns off completely. The fan is running and an array of lights on the fron but nothing happening at all - nothing - nada - zilch!
Im sure this is something easy for you guys but I am not much less so that need help.

Thank you very much in advance
    Mike

    Hi Mike,.

I doubt it has something to do with a Virus or a virus itself it sounds more like a malfunction of equipment

You should try to remove the battery and the AC adapter. Wait 1 or 2 hours, then reconnect the battery and the AC adapter. Now, try to start the laptop.

    I hope it works! :)

  • Most of the programs do not work after the virus attack.

    Original title: programs are "stopped".

Csrss virus or infecting csrss kept coming back. Rid of it with malwarebytes anti-root kits. Only a few programs knit Mr. cannot access the internet.  These programs can be restarted or that I need to restore factory settings?   Restore to previous date did not work.

Perform a recovery of your files multimedia legit (DVD) and fix things.

The best would be to backup all data to another partition and perform a new installation and install your program. so that there is no problem is still persistent even if you restore or recovery.

The 'alert' is not from Vista. Your computer is infected by a rogue security program. It's called "thugs" because he pretended to be a good guy but is really bad. Don't pay them!

These machines are extremely difficult to clean. If your machine is one of these cases, either the interactive assistance to one of the specialty forums listed in the link below, OR take your machine to a professional on the local computer OR backup your data and do a clean install of Windows.
