HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30N

First attempt to use, I get the info "unmanaged".  Not all discs will read.  CKD devices hardware... info (Microsoft): device set to "safe disposal" and disconnect and reconnect the device.   What?  This is not a USB device!  I have to open up the laptop and snatch until I found a cable?  Surely not...

The optical drive can be removed safely and back plugged in using the Ultrabay eject lever (located under the player). Attention also to the latch to the right of the lever.

  • Erratic behavior of satellite L750 - 16Z DVD Drive

The DVD drive for this model is HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30N.

From a previous post, I was led to understand that it is normal that the reader to click on start. Once I've connected on W7 (after 2 minutes) it clicks again.

If I go into the PC diagnostic tool, it will commit again.

He also started clicking at random moments, which is very annoying.

I think it has changed when I'm fiddling around with one of these TOSHIBA. I guess it could be either:

    Toshiba TEMPRO
    PC Diagnostic tool
    PC Health Monitor
    Service station

This could really be something, but now it is so irritating that I disabled HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30N in devmgmt. I prefer to not do what I'm going to have to keep activation and deactivation.

Experts out there who understand the strange operation of this configuration?

    null

    > If this is the case uncheck you the "Toshiba PC Health Monitor" to start msconfig work and is it safe to do?

    Yes, it's really safe!
The "Toshiba PC Health Monitor" would not start when starting the device if you disable the "Toshiba PC Health Monitor" in the msconfig Startup tab.

But this software can still be used if you need you can find the exe file in all programs-> Toshiba

  • Satellite A660 - DVD player does not recognize some DVD

    I have a new Satellite A660-17th with a drive HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30N, running under Windows 7 64-bit.

The reader will read most DVDs. Commercial DVD (region 2) are very good. However, there are problems with the DVD recorded with DVD recorders. Recordings of DVD + R using a Philips machine work very well. DVD + R and DVD - R using a Sony HDX 1095 of RDR machine do not work.

I hope that the disc is ok and that this problem can be solved by changing some settings or other?
    Any ideas?

    Hey,.

If commercial DVDs are working properly, it s final related to your own created DVD recorder of DVD.
It s knows not to adjust something on the DVD player without region code

In my opinion, you should test different brands of DVD to check which is compatible with all devices.
My favorite is Verbatim DVD - R TDK also makes good discs

I have a laptop Aspire 5251. Question is that it shows drive DVD No.. You goto "My computer" and that the only thing it lists is the real hard disk.  If you put a DVD in to play - it does nothing (no AutoPlay and and shows once again no DVD in the 'my computer' zone)

    (1) what I've tried: start pressed F2 and everythting set to factory default - did not do anything

    2) updated the BIOS of V1.02 for the last V2.14

I think the DVD is a HL-Dt-ST-DVDRAM GT30N ATA - but unable to find the driver online or on the ACER site

So, how can I get this portable DVD player to work properly?  It is not my laptop, but a bit of a friends who knows very little portable aboput and this laptop cost him almost a month's salary (we are in Central America) any help would be great, thanks, Scott

    Problem with CD-ROM!

Hello, before a few months my cd-rom doesn't work properly, one of these days, I decided to install the new game, and it shows that my cd-rom will not read the disc!
OK, I thought: Maby the cd is damaged in anyway so I'll put another cd to see if the problem persists, I had a new cd empty and rolled on the cd-rom and waited but nothing showed... I searched some tips on this problem and here's what I did:
    1. clean the pc with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Norton.
    2. re-installed CD-ROM drive (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30N)
3 downloaded Fixit and troubleshooted CD with it, it says that the disc was not readable, anyway I know it's readable!
    4. download CDCheck and checked the E: pilot, it is what comes out of http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/8175/48433351.jpg

Depending on the operating system, try following the steps under "Windows 7 or Windows Vista" or "Windows XP" in the MS KB article:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/982116

These measures, to remove the UpperFilters and LowerFilters, values if they exist, in the registry key named can help.

You can also copy and paste the following text in Notepad and save to a .reg file (save with the .reg extension and give a name like fixcd.reg):

First create a system restore point, and then double-click the saved .reg file, add to the registry and restart the computer.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}]
    "UpperFilters" = -.
    'LowerFilters ' = -.
