How to enable DMA mode? Performance says I'm in PIO mode?

I have problems with slow performance. I ran Microsoft fix and told me of programs run in mode PIO (programmed input/output). turn on the DMA (direct memory access) mode will help performance. I don't know how to do in this regard.

Check in device - ATA/ATAPI IDE controllers Manager, check the properties of each channel, tab advanced settings to a checkbox enable DMA.

  • How to enable AHCI mode on computer laptop dv6-7280eb

    Hello

I just replaced my old hard drive to a new evo 840 Samsung SSD.

It's a laptop DV6-7280eb HP with windows 8.1 on it.

Software Wizard Samsungs tells me that AHCI is disabled.

If I look at Device Manager storage controllers it says Mobile Intel Express Chipset Sata RAID controller.

PC Wizard 2014 tells me this:

Disk controller: Intel 82801HM (ICH8M) 3 port SATA i/o Controller cc = RAID
    Mode: RAID
    AHCI: Yes
    Legacy IDE: Yes
    NCQ: Yes
    Port multiplier: No.
    eSATA: No.
    I/o ports: 1 available on 6
    AHCI Version: 1.30
    Bandwidth: 6 Gb/s

So is my question, possible to put in AHCI and RAID mode not?

    THX in advance

No, but you don't need to worry about this. RAID is fully compatible with a single SSD drive and provide the same benefits for the SSD as AHCI. It's really AHCI RAID where the AHCI = "yes".

  • Equium P200D how to enable SATA AHCI mode so I can install OSx86

Hi im trying to install OSx86 on my new laptop Satellite P200D-139 I bought this week.
I need SATA AHCI mode value. All other pc, I used, I was able to do it in the bios but with this laptop, the bios is so cut off from the option isn't there.
Does anyone know how to enable AHCI mode so I can get OSx86 to start.

    Thank you
    Mark

If I'm not mistaken, you get the famous message "still waiting for root device", right?
Well, I really do not have much experience in the Mac OS, but it appears because of SATA drives and Yes, you're right, AHCI mode works for most of the laptops or desktop computers.

I think there is no way to activate this option. But you may find help looking for some instructions on osx86project in google.

  • How can I activate mode "Developer" on xperia Tablet z?

    Hi all

    I own a Tablet new xperia z.

One thing that I was like is that default Chrome to the display of the Desktop version of a web page by default (rather than the mobile version of a site).

I found information online explaining how to proceed:

    http://www.guidingtech.com/16169/desktop-mode-websites-chrome-Android-permanently/

I wanted to perform the steps described in the "for users without Root access", because I do not want at the root of my brand new camera.

It comes to getting the work of adb command. I could get this tool via a "mini-sdk" provided on this site:

    http://androidforums.com/FAQs/443072-ADB-guide-updated-2013-05-21-a.html

When I run the command adb suggested, he noted:

    * demon does not. from now on port 5037 *.
    * the daemon started successfully *.
    error: device not found

I then read this page about the adb via the "usb debugging": setting Protocol

    http://eSupport.Sony.com/info/878/us/en/

However, when I try to visit the "USB debugging" on my camera of xperia z equivalent setting, all settings in the 'Developer Options' section are disabled.

I then read this web page describing how to enable "developer mode":

    http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-enable-developer-optionsusb-debugging-mode-on-devices-with-Android-...

He suggested going to 'away'and clicking on the 'Number of Build' seven times to activate this setting...

But when I try this, it doesn't work on my device.

I've been Googling for awhile to see if the sony devices have an unique alternative to do, so far without success.

Then you would be able to tell me how I can configure the developer mode on my sony xperia z Tablet?

    Thanks for any help.

    H RyanC,

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, the forums are currently read-only, so had the chance to ask the Q it. I tried the the form "contact us" a few days ago, no answer yet.

But fortunately, I was able to fall on the answer by myself. Will write the answer here, for the benefit of third parties who need to understand this point and to throw off by all the dishes google obfuscation upward:

    • Come on in "settings > developer Options"
    • Notice in the upper right of the screen there is a switch small horizontal slider
(it is in the 'Settings' title aligned to the right bar)
    • The slider is currently set to the left, then drag it to the correct position
    • A popup appears saying:

      "Authorize the parameters of development?
These settings are only for development purposes. They can cause your device and applications on it to break or misbehave.

    • Click on 'OK'.
    • You can then enable options such as "USB debugging" in this menu

    I'm a happy chappy now

    Hello

I suggest to reset the default settings to default and check for the issue.

You may also contact the manufacturer of your BIOS to change these settings.

Important note: Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Exactly what it says on the Tin.

Why can't I connect to Firefox accounts to set up sync to my laptop? FF30 + keeps telling me how please enable cookies; cookies ARE enabled, and I already tried Safe Mode. This has happened since the new Sync has been set up, so I think that nearly 30 FF. I'm now up to 34 FF version and it still does not work. I was not able to sync from the "update".

Problem #1: Going to about: accounts and clicking the Get Started button Blue opens a blank screen. It's not even a prompt on the cookies. It's just empty. Screen attached.
It comes from before the modules are disabled. If they are disabled in Mode safe, we go to the #2 problem.

#2 problem: I've skimmed a thread (https://github.com/mozilla/fxa-content-server/issues/1017) and I tried connecting to sync through accounts.mozilla.com instead, but if the screen does not turn white while the modules are always enabled, "Enable cookies" warning are as far as I can get. Go to about: accounts in Mode safe mode gives the same result. I deleted all my cookies and my cache, FF restarted several times with and without active modules and still nothing. I browsed this forum of support for similar issues, and while other people have the same problem, no other threads have been solved yet. Several later versions of FF, it is far too long for this question still unresolved... Screen attached.

I know where the Firefox Cookie Manager, and I have enabled all settings. I was even able to third party cookies (even though I shouldn't really because they are unnecessary). No difference. Screen attached.

I looked into: config and looked up the word 'cookie' in names, but even this is useless to me since I am not a programmer and so ignorant of what mean really all of these parameters. Screen attached.

I'm at the end of my rope here, guys. It has been for months. A year. Maybe more than a year. I don't even remember. I just got a new camera and I don't want to add all my Firefox information one by one. It doesn't seem to be a way to contact Mozilla directly, so... Someone help please...

  • Tecra 550cdt enabling the DMA mode

Hello, I have a 550Cdt Tecra using windows 98se, I would activate the DMA mode for my hard disk drive, if enable DMA, after windows restarts, it stops showing the windows startup logo. I have to stop the laptop with the power button. In this case, I hear a click from the hard drive.

I use the standard disk controller driver 05/05/98 of microsoft and to replace the Toshiba IDE controller driver extended 05/06/98 allows only to enable DMA for the CD rom, but not the hard drive mode.

I did a long search on other forums and there are other people have the same problem. I checked the pinouts, slick IDE connector (PCB FAL2H0 HDD Flex Cable conn. B36080141012) and the IDE HD no. 21, DMARQ PIN is not connected to the motherboard.

This could be a design problem? Is there a software solution or a modification of the connector is possible?

    Hello Florian

As far as I know that this unit is about 8 years old, comes with Windows 95. Each book is designed and preinstalled to operate well and stabile. Physical infrastructure and pre-installed software must work harmonic. As far as I know that all of the settings in the software and the OS are configured to work without any problems. So much about the design problem.

Back to your question: as far as I know if you want to use the DMA (faster information transfer) chipset and OS must be taken in charge. I think that in your case the hardware phone don't support that. Please do not forget that the right chipset driver is installed. All that s.

In my opinion, expect a little too much of this good old classic. ;)

    Hello Victor,.

I don't think that it is possible to get Windows Media Player to work in Mode safe as it does start normally.
I suggest that you work on the main problem which is screening at the blue start of your machine. I suggest you post a thread on our repair system and the recovery location here:

    4. copy and paste this into Notepad:

  • How to enable the AHCI for SSD on M6-1010TX laptop computer HP

    HELO

Have tried to install an EVO of 840 Samsung 240 GB SSD on my laptop of M6-1010TX with WIN7x64 i5/4 GB and running.

The SSD seems to work OK, but I when I run Samsung magician this is a warning that it must be set to AHCI.

Also, most of the menu items are grayed out and unavailable in Wizard, so I can't see or adjust all parameters. I don't even know if the TRIM work.

There is no possibility of setting to AHCI in the BIOS. (In fact there is no provision for seting pretty much anything in the BIOS)

I've seen a remedy to a similar problem on this forum under 'How to enable AHCI for HP ENVY TouchSmart m6-k015dx Sleekbook' which offers to upgrade to the latest version of Intel RST, which is supposed to give favor SSD attitude to go with the 7 series Intel chipset.

I already have the updated HP version of installed RST (2012-05-04 11.1.0.1006), but the Intel site has versions up to 13.1.0.1058 in date 27-05-2014.

Anyone know if these later versions of Intel are safe to install?

PS - I 840 Samsung SSD EVO running on 2 HP ProBooks's a little older, and they run like lightning.

A simple setting in the BIOS to enable the AHCI is available on these. Why not in the new M6?

    Thank you

OK Hüffer---> we have a update

I had the opportunity to re - install the SSD drive this morning.

It seems that you were mostly correct, but there is also a bit of a conflict between the Samsung software and HP hardware.

When I re-installed this time I connected the SSD in USB BEFORE installing the software (Samsung instructions say to connect AFTER insalling software). This has resulted in much better recognition of the SSD and all the options are now available in Sasung magician.

EXCEPT - 1. He always warns AHCI mode being "Deactivated (IDE or RAID).

    2. it does not recognize the SATA 3 Interface

HOWEVER - it seems to work quite fantasmagorically FAAAAAAST

Samsung Benchmark gives random read/write speeds about 30% above their maximum rate quotes

These reference speeds are about double what I get from the above, 2 HP ProBooks who have SATA 2 interfaces, so it seems that the SATA3 interface actually works correctly.

I am now very happy with this performance (but I wish that AHCI warnings were not there)

So the secret seems to be to connect the SSD drive first and do believe not all alerts when the evidence says it actually works OK.

Thank you once again to Hüffer,

    Hawkeye
