  I spent $4 on a 80 wire cable IDE (to replace the 40-wire cable I used) and I was finally able to get Windows XP installed today.

I guess the age of the cable, but I actually had multiple failures with a whole new thread 40 I had just bought. A mystery, but at least I now have a new facility and I am inclined to believe the 80 wire will make for a faster computer.

  After trying to do an install clean-install of 100% and once again, the driver software could not find the printer name or IP address.
