In general - you should leave well enough alone when it comes to patches.  Microsoft does a job just to install only the parts of a patch which aren't already in place - so, even if you started without service pack, got SP1, SP2 and SP3 as well as 100 + post-SP3 fixes - this is not as if the use of space was exactly cumulative...  The overlap himself would have worked.

My automatic update did not work, so I went to the site to try to download Service Pack 2, one seemed to have trouble with my computer. After I downloaded it, I tried to run, but he said I had to download Service Pack 1. So I did it. When I try to run this file, it says I have already installed Service Pack 1. • How to reduce noise when there is only black and white?

    Hi all

Total noob here, I looked everywhere without success (or I did not know the exact term), but how do you do that?

Basically, I'm trying to just extract lines and texts out of it, and the filtering and the exhibition did nothing for me.

As you can see below, the 'gray' color was made by points that are completely black. Is it possible to do?

So so so thanks in advance!

You can try the filter > noise > antiparasitics, then move to curves and drag the end of the highest point of the scale, a tad to deliver pure a pure white background.

  • How can I know for sure if I have Service Pack 3 for Windows XP is installed on my PC? I get conflicting info... Please help!

I had some trouble with my desktop to the end. in any case, I went to check what programs are installed by going to the "Add/Remove Programs" option of the control panel.

When I chose this option and scrolled down to Windows XP - Service Pack 3 - there is no information next to him and he said ' for support please go...» "(and it me linked to the Windows XP SP3 download center;) HOWEVER - when I check the properties of my computer by going to the menu 'Start', then go to 'My Computer', do a right click on it and looking at its properties - THEN it says "Windows XP Professional - Service Pack 3".
So low line - I'm totally lost - how do I know if I really have SP3 for XP installed or not? and is there a danger for the download and the installation of SP3 for XP again? (or he stops the installation process and detect if I installed it already?)
    SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

Unless something happened during the installation, you should have SP3, if it shows it in the start menu, right-click on computer, properties, or that the other person said, start/run and type winver.  You can try to reinstall, and it won't hurt anything it either, although he can come and tell you already have installed and do not reach.

  • Service packs how do I need?

I have Windows XP and an old Dell tower which was given me already setup. I looked at the list of programs installed and how much Service packs you need? What I keep and what I remove? MSXML 6 (KB973686) MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB973688) MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB954430) then theres Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0 SP 2,3.0 SP 2,3.5 SP 1. As do I and what can I delete? It also has Microsoft Works 2001 installation Launcher. There are a lot of programs that I'm not sure. I'm no computer expert, that's why I'm here. Please feel free to stop me from ruining my PC. Thank you. jeannine420carol

    jeannine420carol,
For Windows XP, you must have service pack 3.  If you click Start > right click on my computer > click on properties; that will tell you what service pack you are running.  The .net and MSXML are Windows components that use programs to run.  There are different versions of these components, and some of them have their own service packs.  Unless you know what that all programs you run need to work, then you should leave them in place.

However, given that you have received a used PC I would say recharging the system to the factory settings.  Dell should have provided recovery disk to restore the system failing factory.  If there is no any drive, it is possible that there is a partition on the hard drive containing the recovery information.  You would need to check with Dell for your specific model on how to perform a factory restore.  If you do this, then you will be a "day one" configuration on the PC and should not have a bunch of components installed.  The factory restore now is just what I would do personally.

    Hope that helps.

I have an Office I just bought 2nd hand for my son who is in grade school, but when I put the automatic updates to run that nothing comes however. Then I tried to install Norton Internet Security and I got an Error Message which said Norton was not able to complete the instalation like Service Pack 2 was not available, so I tried to locate a download of Service Packs 2 and 3 without success, can anyone help me please.
