HP 110-302NA: on or off!

Hi all and Merry Christmas, I'm new to this I have me a new HP desktop pc(110-302na)

A very simple question: can I leave my pc on or off.

What is view HPs on it?

Thank you

Mick2256

Mick, welcome to the forum.

It is a very controversial question.  You will find people on each side of the question.  I'll tell you my position on this subject.  I always turned off my computer at any time that I'm not sitting in front of them.  I started to do this in 1984.  I never had no premature failure of the elements attributed to turn them off.  So, I guess that's a personal decision of preferrence.  I don't think you will have a problem anyway.

I have two new HP computers and both are turned off when not in use.

  • Satellite P30-110: how to open the machine for the cleaning of the fan?

    Hello

I'm having problems with my Satellite P30 - 110 overheating and turn off during routine tasks. I need to clean the fans and did it with compressed air. But I really want to get to the fans and clean them unobstructed. Is there a visual guide on how to open it?

I removed the screws that are visible, but it will not always be open. Don't want to force it.

  • NB200-110 won't start or allow the configuration of the BIOS

    Hello

I am new to the forum and this is my first post.
I help my father with the diagnosis of its mini notebook.
    Model is NB 200-110.

In recent months, the laptop had a hard time to start.
But after several tries, it would normally be finally start and run normally.
Two weeks ago, the laptop won't boot is no longer at all.
When turn on/off, you can hear some noises (HD or fan?) then the 'Toshiba Leading Innovation' screen will be displayed, but it won't pass this point.

On the lower part of the screen, you are prompted to press F2 to enter setup BIOS or F12 to change the start-up devices, but it will respond to any key (as if no current keyboard).
I guess that some of the material is a failure, but y at - it a way of knowing what part exactly?

Thanks in advance for your help.
    Jean-Christophe

    Hello and welcome

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here, and it is not easy to offer the exact diagnosis. Unplug the power plug, remove the battery and press the power button for about 20 seconds.
After having done that connect the power supply only and try to start your machine. Watch carefully what happens.
Try again with F2, F8 or F12 at the beginning upward.
You can also try is to remove the RAM and HARD drive modules and test what happens when you do this.

You know it's strange, if you can enter even the parameters of the BIOS, this first stage where mobile of first hardware.

  • Satellite Pro M70-275 slower than the Satellite M70-110?

    Hello

A couple of weeks ago, I bought a portable Satellite M70-110, with Centrino 1.7 GHz processor and 512 MB RAM. Last week, this computer got stolen from my apartment. (Damn them thieves low-life..)
I wanted to buy exactly the same model again, but he could not find anywhere. Instead, I bought a Satellite Pro M70-275 because he seems to be pretty much the same thing, with a great 2 GHz. processor, it's going to be a little faster then, I thought.
The problem is that it feels like the new is slower; I don't understand why. No more slow, as when you are working with graphics heavy, cause I don't have, but slower at startup, when this regime between programs and so on.

The old used XP Home Edition, the new one XP Pro. This could be the problem; XP Pro requires more RAM?

The old man had an ATI Radeon x 700, the new a x600se, but I can't imagine that this could make a difference with the applications that I am running.
I use a Soundblaster PCIMCA card in the new. This could be a problem?

    Any ideas appreciated!

  • Equium 110-252: how easy to use the Toshiba Recovery CD?

My Equium 110-252 has been plagued with problems since I downloaded a certain number of security for free programs for the protection of personal information on the internet. Since then, a number of programs stopped working (media buttons failed, touch and launch went etc.).

System Restore will not work for any of my restore points and I just get an error message saying that no change has been made. Re-installed a number of programs and have them work again for a time, but the night last windows froze and I had to turn off the laptop using the power button. When I started the laptop to the top again once all my work was cancelled and again programs were not working.

Planning to create a backup disk in the future (a lesson learned!) but in the meantime I think I might have to use the system provided with the laptop recovery disk. Being a novice I'm just afraid that I will be confronted by scary guests when I insert the disc to the top! (especially as the manual says only: "follow the instructions on the screen"). During the period of warranty, but I am concerned that the problem is not covered by that as he came thru my introduction downloaded the software on the laptop!

Can someone please tell me what to expect when you use the recovery disk? Is it as simple as it sounds? Y at - it traps?

Reassure (!) or opinion would be welcome! Thank you!!!

The product recovery DVD is a pre-installation factory Windows when you first bought the laptop. Using this reformatted your hard drive, destroying all the personal data, so it is very important that you back up your files. The process is relatively simple to start just the disk and allow 10-15 minutes to do its work.

The only trick is having to re-register your details and install all service packs of Microsoft.

  • Satellite M50-A-110 - wireless turns down running 8.1 Win

I've recently bought a portable Satellite M50-A-110 with Windows 8

It is initially connected to my router (but),
I could load a page on the browser and the connection then turns down

I updated to Windows 8.1, put to update the driver, chose the intel driver against the windows one, zero, the router, disabled some settings tcp/ip (web help), still nothing.

I can only connect by cable.

My router works fine with the other laptop, Tablet, mobile phone.
I have a Mc McAfee Firewall, which I disabled it temporalily but the problem persists

    Can anyone help?

    Hello

Have you noticed this disconnection using the laptop battery power or also during its connected to the power adapter mode?

In case this happens only in battery power mode, it would be possible as the system powers OFF the WLan to save power.
In this case, I recommend two verification options:

    1) go to Device Manager-> card WLan-> properties-> tab power management
Check here if the option to shut down unit is not checked.

    (2) Variant 2 should be checked in the Windows power management. Here, you can set the WLan card option to the performance.

By the way: according to the specifications of the laptop the laptop is equipped with Intel card Wireless - N 7260 WLan that supports the 802.11 b/g/n standard.

Here is a page of the driver Intel where you can download the latest driver Intel Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260
    [Drivers Intel® Dual Band Wireless-N 7260 | https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Wireless+ Networking & ProductLine = Intel % C2% AE + Wi - Fi + products & ProductProduct = Intel % C2% AE + double + band + Wireless - N + 7260 & ProdId = 3716 W & LineId = 1784 & FamilyId = 1783]
I recommend you test the 16.6.0 driver version

If you have time, try an experiment: you can see the different WLAN channels: you must pass in the router settings as well as in properties (Advanced tab) Wlan card

  • Help please: error 0x0000007e Stop when starting up on top of Satellite P30 110

    Hello

I wonder if someone can please help me with a recurring error message I get randomly when starting up. I have a satellite P30-110, with WXP Home SP2 installed. Mobile P4 3.2Ghz processor, 512 RAM, ATI mobility Radeon 9600/9700 series.

Turns off the computer as usual last night. He walks this morning and think that it load the bios OK and then got the black background with Win XP, and then think about this error page came. Has a blue background with the following text:

"A problem has been detected and Windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Make sure you have enough disk space. If a driver is identified in the stop message, disable the driver or check with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video cards.

Check with your hardware vendor for updates to the BIOS. Disable the BIOS memory options such as implementing caching or shading. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

    Technical information:

    "STOP: 0X0000007E (0XC0000005, 0X00000000, 0XF891D384, 0XF891D080).

I turned the computer off, then restarted when prompted chose to start windows normally, and it seems to start up fine.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

If this is the first time, you've seen this error, I'm not too concerned about it. There are not too many people who have not encountered this scenario occasionally.

The time to worry, if it happens regularly, as this may indicate a component defective that will need to be diagnosed later.

On this occasion, I suspect that the start process has detected an anomaly any (possibly a play on hard drive control) and rather than allow Windows to continue it stopped with the error on blue screen.

    Kind regards

  • Qosmio F20-110: charging question

    Hello

Im having a problem with my laptop Qosmio f20-110 battery problem.
Basically, I can't turn on the laptop with the battery. I can only turn on the laptop with the AC adapter. When the battery is in the laptop and the power adapter is connected to the electric network, an orange light comes in indiacting that his charge.

The led turns off after 4 hours (meaning that its full charge) and when I remove the AC adapter and try turning on the laptop using just the battery nothing happens. When the laptop is turned on with the battery inside, it starts as usual and you can use the laptop.

In the toshiba power save the application, it says the battery is charging and when the State of charge goes up to a point (it's different values), for example sometimes to 46% of charge, charge status hangs at this point, it sometimes freezes at 67%, sometimes he says potential battery: s. o. If I now remove the power adapter the laptop turns off.

When I start it again with the AC adapter, it indicates the State of the battery that is currently charged in function for example, 67%, 46% 0% or battery remaining remainnig N/A and the orange light comes on indicating that his indictment.
It may be the battery, as I have tried 3 batteries toshiba real far with exactly the same problem!

My bios is also up to date.
I'm on a Toshiba ac adapter authentic as well!

    I hope someone can help

    Thank you

Basically, I can t turn on the laptop with the battery. I only turn on the laptop with the power adapter

I remember another thread of the similar problem on a Qosmio G40 forum.

Wait, I search a bit in the forum.

    HQP It is here:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=28045

    The solution is:
Access the BIOS and the search parameters: AUTO POWER ON = ACTIVE
Then choose the option called: WAKE-UP ON BATTERY and set it to "ENABLED"

    Hope this helps

  • HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC E8A11UA #ABA Rev 1965-110 motherboard TS

Well the other day I had a Web page to the top on my screen. I have to turn around and get back on my screen and the laptop looks like it is off. I tried everything and finally took it to a store because she seems to be the motherboard or the CPU, because there is no lights except when the battery charge indicator is and the adapter connects. So the store tells me that my assuptions looks good, it turns out that my motherboard is shot. Is this a known problem with these laptops? My laptop is slightly more than a year, but outside the warranty. Does anyone know the model of motherboard for this laptop and how much it costs:

Laptop HP ENVY 17 of TS

    E8A11UA #ABA

    Rev 1965-110

I've owned a lot of cell phones in the past and they got their share of use and beatings. I can't believe this, more than $ 1,000 laptop motherboard died a little over a year...

    Thanks in advance,

    Jim

    The repair, it's your motherboard:

Equipped of the chipset MB HM87 Express, a graphical subsystem with UMA memory and operating system Windows 8.1 Standard 746450-501

    Repair manuals

    It is not cheap:

    http://www.Amazon.com/HP-746450-501-motherboard-UMA-HM87/DP/B00IY1CZZU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&QID=1457712440&SR=8-1&keywords=746450-501

There is not much I can say to make it more easy except Electronics is unpredictable. Sorry about the premature failure.

  • Satellite P50-B-110 - overheating while playing or watching the video

    * Satellite P50-B-110 *.

    * Card: *.
    -8.1 Windows 64-bit.
    -SSD 256
    -16 GB OF RAM
    -Intel i7-4710HQ 2.5 GHz

Overheating problems when I watch videos on youtube and in particular when playing GT Racing 2 - Gameloft.
When I look at Youtube videos that he will never block nevertheless significantly increases the temperature up to 65ºC.

Play GT2 racing causes itself to break off and restart. Normally I race once and wait 2 to 3 minutes before you start a new, otherwise it is impossible to play.

    I'm using CPUID HWMonitor (www.cpuid.com).
Watch YouTube THRHM normally goes up to 73 ° c for the game GT Racing 2 can culminate in hateful 76ºC!

I bought this phone 2 weeks ago... I'm starting to feel worried about my decision.

    IS THIS NORMAL?
    Something wrong with this laptop?

It s not normal phone behavior if the laptop overheats and crashes.
But it s not unusual if the temperature goes up while playing or watching videos from all parts like CPU and GPU have to run more fast offering more performance and producing more heat.

Therefore, it is very important to follow some important rules.
As already mentioned by IronMan. the device must be placed on the desktop to ensure good traffic performance cooling and air.

You must use the graphics drivers Toshiba because these drivers are designed and modified for mobile use.
See the page of the Toshiba driver for a possible update of the BIOS.

Last but not least go to power options windows and try to improve the power settings.
You can optimize cooling performance and might decrease the performance of the processor
