HP 15-g020dx: green screen on almost all videos

Hello. I saw this question in several places and tried their suggested corrections. Some of them have temporarily fixed this problem, but it keeps recurring. Is there a definitive solution to this? Thank you.

This problem seems to be fixed after you download Goodle Chrome. All videos play fine using Chrome and Internet Explorer after you install Chrome. If someone experiences this problem with 8.1 I would recommend Chrome to give it a go.

    Hello

    Try the first next.

    Start a video game.

Right-click on the video (green screen), and then select settings.

Remove the tick from the box "Enable hardware acceleration", and then click Close.

Refresh the current page, and see if the video is now Ok.

If the above does not correct the problem, try a new installation of the plugin flash/ActiveX as follows.

First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    Flash Player Uninstaller.

Once the download is complete, close all the browser windows, open your downloads folder and run the program uninstaller.  After this has completed, restart the laptop.

When windows has reloaded, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash. Note: You can deselect the option to include McAfee Security Scan Plus before downloading.

When the installation is complete, restart the laptop.

  • Green screen Flash shows during video playback

Today, I installed 10.1 and any time you play a flash on hulu on youtube video all that it shows a green screen, sound works fine. I use firefox and windows 7 x 64, the graphics card is an ATI 4870. If I disable hardware acceleration, it works but the video stutters a bit (don't no wonder), I had the impression that with 10.1 hardware acceleration would work now.

I have installed ATI Catalyst drivers 10.2 version.

OK it's been a year and a half and I understood why I was having problems now, I had to replace my motherboard for independent questions and when I did Flash started working normally, I didn't reinstall windows when I did that it must have been. I think he could have a tension problem through the slot PCI - e I got a few other video issues for the purpose as well.

    Hello jlw1310,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I understand that when you try to view a video on your laptop, a green screen, and I'd be happy to help you in this case!

The first thing I recommend is to follow this document using HP Support Assistant (Windows 8). This should help to ensure that hardware drivers are up to date.

The next step, I will propose is to update your Adobe Flash and Java drivers. This should help to prevent the appearance of a green screen when you watch videos.

Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your response!

Green screens are almost always a sign of a video driver issue.  Could you please send the contents of your "Display devices" section after generating a DXDiag report?

I suspect you may have an outdated video driver.  This FAQ can help you learn the steps required to update:

  • Green screen since update to version 12.0.0.38

I have windows 8.1 and use IE11. In the last days (probably since the Flash player update), I get a green screen trying to watch videos on all websites (youtube, bbc iplayer etc.), but the sound is OK. I have the latest AMD drivers display (13.251.0.0) for the Radeon HD 7650D and had no problems watching videos before this update.

    Any solutions would be welcome

"Green screen" is (99.999% of the time) caused by video drivers.

They may be later, but preventing them from becoming corrupt, and even 'all new' bad drivers will cause the green screen.

Try the update again from the manufacturer rather than through Windows Update or the chauffeur service. The links are here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/945765
