I have a HP EliteDesk 800 G1 nine compact PC running Windows 7 - code H5T99EA. It does not have a wireless adapter - certainly none appear in the profile of Harware.

I can only connect to the Internet via an ethernet cable. I have no option to connect wireless and my wireless router is not discovered when I try (or any other local Wi - Fi access point.

Do I have to download a driver for the wireless card - no doubt, there is one installed?

  • Wireless adapter has disappeared on my Satellite C660-22V

Hi, I am very well to this new and have knowledge on this SUBJECT.

The situation is, my computer had a problem turning on and the opportunity to restore to a previous point in time, that I continued with. After the completion of this and that the computer opens completely, the wireless adapter is no longer meet!

I tried to look in the network and sharing Center, there is no option for a wireless adapter, only one ethernet adapter unplugged.

I also looked in the Device Manager and I cannot find any mention of the wireless adapter, I expected to be there with a yellow icon, that means a driver problem, but it is not there at all!

The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite C660-22V

    Thank you!

    > I also looked in the Device Manager and I cannot find any mention of the wireless adapter, I expected to be there with a yellow icon, that means a driver problem, but it is not there at all!

What devices appear in Device Manager under the category network cards?
    Is any unknown device visible?

To my knowledge, this Satellite C660-22V has been fitted with a 802.11(b/g/n) of Realtek RTL8188CE WLan card.

For installation of the driver Realtek RTL8188CE WLan should help to make it work (of course, just in case a missing driver would be the problem)

By the way: what system are you using?

  • Pavilion g6-1c39ca: wireless adapter disappeared

    MEDEL: HP Pavilion 1c39ca g6

    Hello.

A days fea, I have format my hard drive.

Before formatting, there is no problem with internet service. (Bote Wifi and cable internet worked well)

After formetting, I installed Windows 7 and downloaded all the drivers from the HP site support.

Except the drivers LAN and Bluetooth, other drivers were instralled, succeefully.

In particular, when I was installing the Atheros Driver Installation program, I saw a pop-up message and it meant «802.11a/b/g/n Wireless Adapter Device Not Found.» "The device may not be present or could have been ejected / disconnected from the system.

I can't make sense because I used wifi service a few hours before formatting my laptop computer and received a message that wifi device has been ejected/disconnected. I opened the cover and the keyboard and do not touch anything, physically.

Can you show me a solution to this problem? or do I have to go to Bestbuy to solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Hello:

According to the list of parts on the link below, your laptop comes with a PCIe adapter half minicards (HMC) WiFi Realtek 8188GN - 1 x 1 802.11b/g/n wireless card, which explains why the driver for Atheros wireless card does not work.

    http://PartSurfer.HP.com/search.aspx?SearchText=A3J85UA

You need the driver for the network without WIRE Realtek 8188GN card...

This package contains the installation package driver for the controller LAN Realtek RTL8188CE wireless in the notebook models and operating systems.

    File name: sp53753.exe

If you see not all devices in Device Manager in need of drivers (if the needs of a pilot wireless card, it will appear as a network controller in Device Manager), you may need to install this software, restart the computer and use this software to re - turn on the wireless card.

This package provides the HP connection for laptops Manager running a supported operating system.

    File name: sp53394.exe

If none of the above wins the wireless working again, most likely the wireless card is dead on you and needs to be replaced.

In addition, depending on the product specifications page below, your laptop does not come with built in bluetooth network.

If so, this feature would have been listed as well as WLAN 802.11b/g/n wireless connectivity specifications.

Could someone help me find a spare part for the laptop please?

    Thank you

    Hello:

You are right about the white list of BIOS locking all the cards not supported wireless.

Here is the link to the service manual for your PC.

Chapter 3, page 17 lists the cards supported wireless.  None are dual band.

Thank you all who responded and have tried to help me. Before posting, I tried most of the mentioned patches, including upgrading my firmware of the router. In addition, I went to Device Manager and scanned for changes and checked the properties under the Advanced tab of the Wifi link adapter. I tried the update driver and deactivation and activation of the device. None of this has worked.

Finally, I uninstalled and then reinstalled the Wifi card. It worked. I guess the driver software became corrupt and data of the register of the device had probably need re - install, this is what worked. This seems to happen when upgrading Windows operating systems prior to WIN 7 and later people lose their wifi connection. Then this problem develops.

It worked for me. I hope this works for others with the same problem.

Once again I thank you all.

  • Without sleep when the wireless adapter is enabled

    Hi all

I have the HP HDX 18 t, and I just noticed that when I active wireless adapter, my energy plan is defeated because the laptop will not go to sleep. When I disable the wireless network adapter, the laptop goes to sleep very well according to the energy saving plan. I looked at the settings of my wireless card, and they seem appropriate: the computer is allowed to switch off to save energy.

No idea how I can fix this problem? (The laptop has Windows Vista Home Premium, and I've updated with Service Pack 2).

    Thank you very much

    Linus Q.

    Hi all

Today the laptop goes to sleep like clockwork and I think it's because of some advanced settings I changed last night. I changed advanced settings for two network devices, the device Realtek PCIe GBE and the Intel Wifi Link 5100. A combination of these changes must have done the trick. Here is a summary of the changes:

(It worked with a scheme to save energy by which the screen turns off after 5 minutes; the hard drive try to extinguish in 7 minutes, and the computer asleep in 10 minutes).

Realtek device on the Advanced Settings tab:

Wake-on-Lan capabilities: None (thought I had previously tried without success)

Shutdown Wake-on-LAN: activated (I think it's the default setting, so it was probably not a change)

WiFi Link 5100 advanced device settings tab:

Roaming of aggression: 1. low (it was on 6. Above, but there is only one access point legitimate I can connect, so I should not be traveling as far as I KNOW)

Transmitting power: 2 medium-low (it was 5. Above, but there is no loss of performance at medium-low)

Well, I think that it's all real parameters that I've changed, and I was surprised to see the laptop to sleep as it should, even when I'm connected to the Internet. But I'm glad it seems to work now.

Thanks to Daniel and Bertbear for your willingness to offer suggestions. (My free upgrade to Windows 7 is already in the mail, but I can't even install it at this point).

    Thank you

    Linus

  • HP Pavilion G6-1215ex: could not find "Wireless adapter" in my device manager.

    Hello.

I recently formatted my HP Gseries laptop and reinstalled all the drivers. Towards the end of it, I couldn't find my adapter wireless listed in my device manager. I can connect to the internet via a connection fixed but the Wireless does not exist. When I try to install the wireless driver, the Setup program cannot detect the wireless network card.  I tried the following, which none has seemed to work:

Turned on the wireless devices. Bluetooth works. Wi - Fi nope.

Checked for possible compatibility problems drivers.

There was something a little "unrecognized network controller" in the "other devices" category, which I assume is my wireless adapter. Therefore, I have included the hardware below id if this would be of any help. Please help me find the appropriate patches for my problem.

  • Not Sure (portable): accidentally deleted my wireless adapter

    Hello

I tried to clean my laptop due to a number of problems with IE does not properly and have accidentally uninstalled the wireless adapter. I looked at the other messages and tried to use the advice given to others, and none of the adapters are able to install? I do not know which laptop model I (very unhelpful) but I am running windows 8.

Can anyone help with some advice for the back of the wireless adapter or a new adapter? Anyway to get my laptop which works wirelessly again please.

    Thank you

    Hello

In this case, you can use Recovery Manager to reinstall your original WLAN driver - how to use the Recovery Manager to reinstall the drivers and software is detailed in the document at the link below.

    Recovery Manager - Windows 8.

    After reinstalling, restart the laptop.

    Kind regards

  • Inspiron n4010 virtual wireless adapter shows 'unplugged', does not connect

I've scoured the web looking for a solution to this problem, found a similar question posted here, but no solution... en.Community.Dell.com/.../20263886

My friend brought me his Inspiron n4010 notebook help saying until a few months ago, he used to connect to the wifi with no problems. All of a sudden, it wouldn't show all wireless networks available no matter where she went - its wireless home network, work network and neighborhood of free wifi hotspots - none would connect. Similarly, I have tried with my home wireless network and my network wireless office without result. Connect LAN2 (for Boradcom virtual Wireless Adapter) this always as 'unplugged network Cable.

    6. I checked the Windows Mobility Center. Wireless 'tile' was where it should have, according to other messages I saw who were on this subject. Strangely, when I clicked on the button to launch under Dell - Radio control options, checkboxes Wi - Fi and Mobile Broadband have been unchecked and greyed out.

    7. I have reset the winsock catalog and restarted the computer via the elevated command prompt (Administrator)
    NET winsock reset catalog
    No change in status wireless.

    8. I disabled the Norton firewall and Windows and anti-virus to see if wireless was somehow blocked by them. No change in status wireless.

    9. I checked the Windows power plan settings to confirm that network cards did not have their power reduced. I put the adapter wireless for maximum while on battery and current performance alternative.

    10. I checked the Windows Event Viewer logs > Windows Logs > system:

I've seen repeated Scriptures error spread among the many dates of "BTHUSB (Blue Tooth adapter failed in an indeterminate way, will not be used.". The driver has been unloaded. "I saw no reference to what about wireless however.

    11. I tried to run Windows Update manually to see what, if any, driver updates it can find (using a network cable connection) and got the error 'cannot be updated because the Windows Update service is not started. I confirmed that he was released. I also manually stopped and restarted the service but continued to get the same error message. I kept the Windows Firewall and Norton Firewall (and antivirus) disabled in case they were interfereing with Windows Update, but no luck.

    12. I ran bad/ad/spyware scans with a portable version of Spybot and also a free version of SuperAntiSpyware, analyze the results showed several adware results, that have been deleted.

    13. I tried to manually configure the IP address, subnet mask and entered default gateway for IPv4 to the wireless adapter, which had been put on "obtain automatically", as it should. I also put the server DNS preferred my ISP (Comcast), then tried Google 8.8.8.8. This should have worked but the connection still showed as "cable disconnected" (why is a mistake to launch a "cable disconnected" wireless connection?)

    14. just for fun, I ran the update from the Intel driver from their site (via wired), who identified the available for graphics and Chipset updates - I've updated both, but it did not help (no surprise).

    15. I started Windows in Safe Mode with network - just as in normal mode, he showed the connection wireless as "cable disconnected".

I am open to any suggestions at this point. The laptop is out of warranty so prefer to avoid paid support, if in any way possible.

If you can get a hardware ID by activating / deactivating it on or turned off, it suggests itself wireless card is bad... Diagnostic tests could confirm this:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/F12-Preboot-Diagnostics/

You can look in the service manual to try and reinsert the card or replace it. His work a bit longer than necessary:

    http://FTP.Dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_laptop/esuprt_inspiron_laptop/Inspiron-14r_service%20manual_en-us.PDF

An easier solution if you are uncomfortable with the material of the Assembly would be to buy a USB wireless adapter.

  • Windows 7 Home Edition Premium and Linksys E3000 and configuration problems with Dell/Broadcom half mini wireless 1501 wireless adapter DWLAN

I'be been on the net looking for an answer requarding my Linksys E3000 router and my card adapter Mini PCI Dell/Broadcom DWLAN (DraftN) haf installed on my laptop Dell Inspiron N7010 XL 17 R and the inability to configure the card so he gets the same speed-172 wireless MBps_ as does our HP Vista Home Premium SP2 Laptop and Desktop! Yes, I spoke with Dell who seem to think that all their problems Tech and resolutions can be found with their technicians of the Manila-based Super (Word of warning-do NOT enter into the world of the concierge program of Dell Tech who, after having been assured it is based in the United States, I agreed to be a beta tester and lost my harddrive despite numerous attempts to stop the technicians to access remotely to do stupid things - but the new live Webcam and learn the hard drive but got none of my software original Dell with it as promised, too - another story). In any case, after playing with the DWLAN share of Dell said they question-nope Linksys ' cuz of course my other two computers would be quick at the speed they do. So I get ahold of Comcast, who of course told me, it's a matter of DELL. I have the WPA2 encryption on a network secure, but because my router there is no way to set up a "secure" network guest unless I have disable access to him (seems odd, he says: it is not guaranteed when someone trying to pass over the network, has knowledge password-weird with this router) it is anyway with this mini half DWLAN and the fact that it is not near the speed as the two other wireless adapters. My problem is with the speed I found all kinds of tips for use between Comcast Modem and Linksys router to make your network hum. What I want for now is someone to tell me how to configure this adapter on this Dell computer, so it does the job, it should. I have a program of diagnosis with her and from what I see, I must get off channel 1 as there is too much interference, but before I go and change the settings of the router, I want the adapter to work - especially since it's about 100 Mbps slower than our other wireless adapters. Does anyone know what should be the correct settings for this DWLAN 1501 or that I now need a new adapter in this laptop as well? Thanks for your help.

    LindaSView

    Hi Linda,.

Have you tried to forget an instant wireless and bypass the router and cable connect directly to the modem to see if you get the speed you want in this way?  Yes, I know that this means to temporarily suspend the internet connection to the local network and also means the creation of a special no wireless connection for this computer.  But it could help determine if the problem is the computer and the router or wireless adapter - which excluding at least.

If it works fine, then you can pass the wireless problem.  Otherwise, if it is still slow with a direct link, then you may need to consider another problem is involved and the router and adapter can actually be very well and you need to focus on all that is the bottleneck.

I'm suggesting this to eliminate the possibilities that can be the underlying cause, while you spend your time on the development of bad (although I admit that I think that you are right and it is more likely - it can be useful a test just to be sure).

    Good luck!

  • Need info on wireless adapter

I own a HP Compac Presario C700 laptop product not. KN987UA #ABA.  It had Windows Vista installed on it again, I did not like.  I recently cleaned the hard drive and installed Windows XP SP3.  I had left it by a used desktop computer.  I assumed that I would be able to identify all of the parts and get the drivers for them, given that HP did not provide XP drivers for this laptop.  I found all the drivers that I needed, however, except that I couldn't identify the wireless adapter.  I tried a few drivers but none worked.  The adapter has been confused with an ethernet adapter.  My question: can someone tell me what wireless adapters have been used in this range of machines?  If it would help, serial number = CND821QLC5.

    Hi, David:

This Atheros driver below is normally most of the Atheros card in HP laptops.

  • wireless adapter not connecting not but adapter wired does

My wireless adapter does not connect to the internet, but when I wired for it (I realize that there are two different cards).

A couple of weeks, I have experimented with setting up a static IP address because another laptop needed a static IP to configure the router for port forwarding.

It turns out that I did not need port forwarding, so I put (or I thought I put) flag in DHCP.   Apparently I don't have something correct return set to the wireless card.

I had checked the TCP/IP on the wireless and it is set up for DHCP and/or not to use a static IP address.  But I think I'm missing a few settings that are not allowing me to connect wirelessly.

    Any suggestions?

    Paul,

I ended up solving it using Microsoft FixIt: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357

I watch the previous restore points, but none were acceptable.

But thank you for your help.

Which wireless standard using the ATT solution? Any spare wireless card should work fine, just for the game to the network.

  • How to activate the wireless adapter

I currently have a HP Pavilion 17 computer laptop with Windows 7 Professional.  A few times in the past in the unit's wireless adapter stopped working.  I don't remember what I did to get it working again, then however at this time I can not activate even if I followed all the steps to change the settings of the adapter on the network and sharing Center.  When I select Connect, it simply shows that it is not connected.  Nothing I have tried seems to help.  I have a unit of Belkin Wi - Fi that works and my laptop runs as long as I have an Ethernet cable connected.  However if I disconnect the cable from the laptop does not connect via wireless adapter.  In the past he would always stay connected to the Wi - Fi connection even if I disconnected the cable.  Please give me any thoughts you had to solve it.  Thanks in advance for your efforts and help.

I just wanted to know that I found the solution to my problem with the help of a response of the same issue posted last year.  Repeated pressing the F12 key with the picture of an airplane on the wireless card.  Forgive my ignorance, but thanks to all who took time to try to help me.
