HP 8620 dentyne paper 67lb

I just bought a HP 8620 and need to print on paper 67lb.

Set up the printer for the first time and trying to print 67lb it would not feed and I got the error output of paper with the instruction to check paper and reload the tray and hit OK. 20 lb paper is ok.

I checked the tray and reset the status bar and haven't tried again, no joy. Looked at the tray and the paper looked like he tried to nurture as he took a little. I tried again and kept get sandbox error so I touched just OK about 6 times and she finally fed.

Then I printed out my paper and noticed that there was an indentation at the top/center of paper and scratch on 1/2 in. long, vertical. the indentation is very sensitive and can be felt with the fingers, almost like a small crease.

Support for HP (3 hours of work with them) had no idea.

I took the printer to the store and got another.  The 2nd printer does exactly the same thing, no flow to the

OK is reached about 6 times and indentation appears high in the center of the paper.

I wonder if the roll would cause this trouble?   I'll be on paper 20 lbs too, but not nearly as noticeable.

The printer properties are set for plain paper thick, rather than photo etc.

Thanks for all the ideas,

Chuck

Hi HRD1,

I suspect you're right, the rolls of selection are trying so hard to feed the paper they celebrate the sheet. You mentioned that you have select heavy plain paper in the settings, I think that we are able to manipulate the sufficient parameters to get the printer til accept this document, but I make no guarantee. Here's the thing, this printer supports 16-28 lb of plain paper, photo 66lbs paper (Yes a pound less than what you need), envelope 20-24lbs and index cards 110lb.

Paper using unsupported can cause complications such as you have described.

Now my thought is, if you change your type of paper for photo paper or an index, you can just get lucky, but as mentioned, it is not supported, and therefore not guaranteed.

However, I wish good luck!

    Hi all

I found this on the discussion Forum and it worked!

Just open the cartridge door, have a flashlight and check all visible cables, pressing them firmly into the connectors.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: Paper feed problem

New Machine - age for a day. Follow the installation procedure and a tray loaded with good paper 20 # 8-1/2 "x 11". When I send a print job to the printer - the finished sheet is great except for a double crease to the top of the sheet. It's as if she gets stuck, deform the sheet and then it ends. It is not appropriate for an office environment.

This printer has a duplex on the back unit.

Secondly when I put the tray paper for 4 X 6 photo paper and load the tray... it won't pull the paper and printing. The error message says to check the configuration of the status bar and load the paper - I have already done.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: Part number for second paper for Officejet Pro 8620 tray?

I'll try to find the good second tray paper for this printer.

Some documents quote Ref CN548A HP and others quote A8Z70A. The two look alike, and both refers to the range of 8600.

I bought the CN548A and 'almost' fits, it doesn't seem to work

    Anyone able to help?

    Thank you

    Hello @petertow,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I would like to help you with the correct information for the second paper for your HP Officejet Pro 8620 tray accessory e-all-in-one printer location today.

    • Good reference for the paper tray number is: A8Z70A

The CN548A paper tray is only for the printer HP Officejet Pro 8600. The Officejet 8600 series came out before the HP Officejet 8620 and the 8630 printers series. Therefore, the tray is not universal.

I wish you good luck going forward with this!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: Officejet Pro 8620 - after software download on 4 March 2016 printer fails to detect the paper in the tray

Hi, I downloaded and installed the latest version of the software on March 4, 2016. But after the installation of the software can not print as printer detects no paper and poster-error "on paper" message even if the paper tray is enough. The printer was working fine before the upgrade of the software. The printer is only 2 months old.

    Hi @Al2016,

First of all, welcome on the HP Forums, as you know it is a big thank you to get help from community members! To ensure that the paper error output is not hardware related, please make a copy and let me know if it works. A successful copy determines that the problem is actually related to the software. If you can not copy, it's a hardware problem and we will focus on the material.

If you determine that the problem is hardware related, please use the following to fix the problem: a Message displays "paper" and does not Pick Up paper from the printer. "

In the unlikely event that you can copy do not print, I suggest to use the following steps to remove the printer from the device and printers and the driver from the properties of the server.

    1. in the folder "devices and printers".

    2. choose "print server properties.

    • Win XP - with no printer selected, click 'File' then 'server properties '.
    • Windows Vista - with no printer selected, press 'Alt' and then click 'file' then 'server properties '.
    • Windows 7/8, 8.1 and 10 - select any printer in the "Devices and printers" folder and click on "Print server properties" above.

    3. click on the "Drivers" tab at the top of the window "properties of the print server.

    4. choose the printer that you want to uninstall, and then click 'remove '.

    5. choose "Remove driver only.

    6. the next screen will give a warning, letting you know that the removal of the driver package will remove it from the system. Click 'Yes' to say are you sure you want to do.

If documents are stuck in the spooler to print, you see an error, cancel all documents waiting in the print queue or try restart the spooler to print, and then try to delete the driver from 'Print server properties' again. If she will not always remove the sachet, restart the computer and the printer should correct this error "in use" and allow the driver to be removed.

Once the driver is then deleted, open start > all programs > HP folder > folder printer > HP Setup and software (or the icon of the printer).

The installation screen and the software opens and you can click on connect a new printer.

Please let me know the results of your efforts and I will get back to you. If one of the suggestions I did resolve the problem, please click Accept as Solution button below so that others may see that your problem is solved! Thank you.

  • HP e-all-in-one 8620: paper stuck - 8620 HP e-all-in-one tray

I pulled out the tray paper (there is only one) to remove a paper jam. I accidentally updated the tray rear paper in a corner and now it is going in or out. It is about 3 "in its slot. I tried out with the printer in its normal position and also with him upside on carpet so I can see the underside paper tray. Is there some buttons or levers, I should be pushing or something else to try?

    Thank you very much.

Hi @bdgrfan76, welcome to the Forums of HP!

I understand your test paper is now stuck in the printer and will go properly, nor can remove you it. At this point, I suggest use you a force to remove the status bar only. I wouldn't try to force, it would be best to remove it and reinsert it.  If the set is damaged you will need to order a new plateau and can do this by using the HP part Surfer.

I hope this helps and good luck to you.

Right now I am trying to print with Picasa. I have not had any problems on my HP C309g printer.

Thank you in advance. I'm about to take over this thing!

    @Raskolnyki

Good news, you can 'Add' a form for the 4 X 6 or the format of paper 4X6.5 (tabs).

The basic instructions are already available for the printer, but not where you expect:

Create paper formats in Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac OS X

I have created a new form of 4X6.5in so I can use my photo paper 4 X 6-inch with tab in my new printer.   The printer was to launch "paper mismatch" errors in the form of 4 X 6.

The examples to create the form are included in this document:

Help because I need it for work...

You do one of 2 things @Chelle007, you can reset the printer back to the factory settings and set up again, or you can connect the printer to the computer or router Ethernet cable and use the wired IP address to access the Web integrated (Embedded Web Server) server. If you choose to install an Ethernet cable, go to the network settings on the front panel of the printer to get the IP address. Enter the IP address in a Web browser, and when the printer page opens, you can go to settings. You will be able to reactivate it. Please do not forget to select each element one at a time instead of select allow all, because if you turn on all you will lock the front panel.

There are a growing number of messages in this forum and elsewhere in the internet with the steps to do a reset on different printers.  Reset to will sometimes fix problems, so resetting is not the issue.

A few resets require you to enter key combinations to open special menus on your printer that you were supposed to never access.  These special menus are used by developers and staff support for debugging of problems, but they are not intended for inexperienced users and can have unexpected results.  A wrong button push and you might no longer have a printer, but rather an expensive paper weight.  On top of that, if you happen to the 'brick' the printer in this way, it is considered as customer induced damage and voids the warranty automatically. These resets are only intended to be distributed and used as a last resort and under the direct instruction of a representative of the HP technical support. They should not be made lightly!
