HP B8550 print three pages when turned on

I have a HP Photosmart B8550, that works well. The only problem is that when I turn it on, or re - start my computer, the printer prints three pages, one line each, garbage - USBC RUT, USBCUQN$ C USBCSDOM with symbols of hearts or Spades or clubs (as in the maps). It's a waste of paper and time. I uninstalled the driver and application for the printer, re-installed and it still happens. Any ideas on how to correct this nuisance? Thank you

HI daveyboy47,

Here is a document of support for your printer, which covers the continuing pages of strange characters or truncated as you described.

Let us know if that helps.

I have a MacBook Air. I use OS x El Capitan V10.11.12. 3 days ago, I installed a printer Epson L355. Everything seemed fine, when I first printed a few pages. I installed the driver delivered with printer and followed the Mac set up. The process has not completely finished the whole upward. I then found a Mac driver Mac page and installed (I think - how will I know?) and it seemed ok. When I used it the next day I kept getting message "filter failed" when you try to print from wifi. There is a strong wifi signal and scanning is ok. I can sometimes print a page of safari, but not from Word. I tried to delete and add printer's done everything to nothing. get him looking for a printer then message "filter has failed", with the printer in the "inactive"

Can someone help me please? I'm getting worried and frustrated in equal measure. I'm not a techie and really evil.

The message failed filter keeps the driver having problems of compatibility with the operating system and not the network connection to the printer. You mentioned with the driver supplied with your printer. This is linked from a previous version of Mac OS X, because sellers do not tend to get the latest drivers on the CD supplied with the printer. And then you install another driver, you can have caused even more conflict. So I would recommend that you delete the printer Printers & Scanners and then using the Finder, select go > go to folder, and then type/Library/Printers/Epson and press the Go button. This will take you to the Epson folder that has all the files in the printer driver. Select all the files and then trash them. Then, restart your Mac and when you are logged in, go to the Epson website and find the L355 printer driver that supports OS X 10.11. Download and install this driver, and then add the printer via Printers & Scanners again. Then see if you can print.

  • After printing a page, when I try to print again it says print function is not available

I have a Canon MG6250 connected via USB. I run Windows 7 with all latest updates and the version of Firefox is currently 38.0.5. Since some time, probably about a year, starting after a new version of Firefox, I think, I have problems printing. (Sorry I don't remember which version it started happening.) Unless I'm waiting for the printer to prepare completely, although the print dialogue box appears and I click on print, often (not always) nothing happens. If I try to print again I get a pop-up window indicating that the print function is not available. If I then close Firefox and try to restart it, it tells me Firefox is already running. I have to put an end to its process through the Task Manager. Often, I want to print from several tabs already charges with the pages to print. Even if I managed to get the first tab print, somewhere along the line the same thing often happens: before I printed the tab page from the last I get the box pop up again and I have to end the process of Firefox to make it work again. I can generally prevent his happening if I monitor the activity of the CPU of my computer (via System Mechanic) and make sure that all activity ceased after printing a tab until I try to print on the other. This makes printing of desperately slow Firefox!

I don't have any problems printing of any other application.

Note that relatively recently, due to a failure of the system disk, I reinstalled Windows and all my software. I was hoping that a by-product of doing this can solve the problem with printing from Firefox, but it didn't.

I would be very grateful for a solution to this problem.

I continued to use IE with no problems printing. But then after Firefox 3.0 came out I gave it another go - and the problem seems to have been resolved. No matter how much time I spend in another tab and select print, it behaves as it should. Thank God - Firefox is so much better than IE.

  • Printing blank pages when printing from Word 2007, WordPad and Notepad, print well other programs

    Weird printing problem

Good, in Windows Vista and using a printer HP Deskjet 645c with the updated driver, here's the weirdness:

When printing from Word 2007, Wordpad and Notepad, the sheet through the printer appear in print, but no printing actually takes place. Same for the two existing documents and those newly created. On the other hand, everything prints normally IE8, Firefox and Adobe Reader. Reinstalled the printer driver and also to delete the Word data key in the registry. No love. Automated ran, troubleshooting of MS, but still no love because he found no problem. Someone at - it a good idea? Seems there must be something in common between Word, Wordpad and Notepad, which I suppose are at least somewhat in the code, or perhaps in the way they approach the printer driver.

    Hi TNCharlie,

    (1) I want to clarify if you arejust I try to print the text or insertion of objects into Word and WordPad?

Fonts and graphics damaged can cause printing problems in Word/WordPad

    (2) using a wireless printer?

Check to see if it makes a difference if connected.

Step 1: This test in word

    1. open a new blank document in Word.

    2. on the first line of the document, type the following text:

    = Rand (10)

    3. press ENTER. This inserts 10 paragraphs of the sample text.

    4. try to print the document.

    5. If the document prints correctly, replace it with another font or insert a clip art image, a table, or a drawn object

Step 2: Don't know if you have tried this fixit, please run the fixit available in the link below and check if that makes a difference

  • 24-page booklet adds blank pages when printing

What the devil? I thought only divisible by 4 means that it should work. I am at a loss here. InDesign CC.

None existed. So I just added two pages and chose to print the pages when I printed. I don't see why I should add pages to a document on page 24.

  • HP officejet 4630 does print the pages

I have all in one model 4632 and have reinstalled three times.  He continues to not print all pages when printing from my laptop which uses Windows 8.  It prints well unique pages, but as soon as there is more than one page it stops usually half way through the third page. It also does not meet the "print on both sides" function when more of 4 pages. The only printing several pages is a real pain. I often have to do a "page current impression" on every page in order to get a complete printout.

  • HP laserjet M425dn MFP 400: white pages when using the copy flow tray

Our HP laserjet MFP M425dn of 400 printer suddenly started printing blank pages when I food pages in the sandbox of copy on top of the lid and go through the routine of copy 'optimize '.  When I place the original on the glass, then select copy, copies are missing from the top of the page.  I spent around and in the settings and made sure that I selected the normal size of plain paper (not legal, etc.), but have not solved the problem.  Any suggestions?

There is a "Reset Factory Default" option in the Tools menu. Or you can reset the printer. This forum post has the details: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-Setup/Cold-Reset-HP-LaserJet-Pro-400-MFP-M425dn/td-p/3105277

  • PSC 1350 all prints a test page every time when turned on

After changing the cartridge, we printed test page.

Now, whenever we turn on the printer it prints test page automatically.

    How to disable this option?

    Thank you

    Hello vancat,

If your problem is that your PSC 1350 prints a test page when it is turned on or after every printjob, it is very likely because the cartridge alignment process is not finished. After you have installed a new cartridge in the printer, it will print an alignment page. You must take this page and place it on the scanner glass (make sure that the top of the page is in a good way), then you press the "Scan" button on the printer itself. It will scan the page (that is, read the page) and full alignment process (so it is not scanning in the sense that it sends an image to the computer).

I hope that clarifies the process of alignment slightly.

  • HP photosmart d110 - when I turn it on it starts up and gets as far as "now printing alignment page?

    HP photosmart D110

When I turn it on it starts and gets regarding printing now alighment page and that's it... There is a red X in the upper right corner.  I can't take the printer to print a document.  It is the default printer.  I am running wireless and recently had to reset my router... This could be some of the problem?  It's very frustrating; any help you can give is appreciated.

Blue wireless light flashes as it is the power button / stop.

    Kind regards

    Marvin

It's strange. Looks like something in the alignment process is originally the printer enter a permanent error state. This is going to sound strange, but I think it will work. Let the printer goes to error state. Then, instead of turning off the printer by the power button, remove the power cord at the back of the printer. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet so to reset the power module (it is the black brick in the power cord). Open the printer and slide the ink cart in the region that allow you to remove the ink cartridges and remove the ink cartridges. Close the printer, plug the printer back in and turn it on. When you are asked for your ink cartridges to be inserted, go ahead and put them in. Let me know what happens.

  • HP Envy 5532 Printing green lines across the page when scanning in color

Hi, I'm Green striped wallpaper is the best way to describe it, when I scan a document color the entire page has this striped background green and the image being analyzed. The printer is around the age of 18 months.

I tried all the diagnostic tools that are available through the printer, nothing seems to clear it.

    Any suggestions?

    Hey @thelentons,

Welcome to the HP forums! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I understand that your e-all-in-one printer of 5532 Envy is scanning with green lines. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet , not a surge protector. Once it's done remove any paper flat from the printer and turn the printer off, then on again. Finally we will try to make a copy. If the copy has lines so you have a hardware problem. If you are able to make a copy without lines so you can have a software problem.

If you have a hardware problem

While the printer is turned on remove the cable at the back of the printer for a minute, turn on the printer and try to make a copy.

If the copy always has lines in it then we will make a factory reset the printer. I'll send you some pointers on how to do so shortly in a private message.

If after the reset you still have lines in print then the printer needs to be replaced. You can contact HP support by clicking here and filling out the form below.

If you have a software problem

I can provide you with more information, but I need to know what operating system is on your computer. If you are not sure what your operating system is you can click here to find. Please let me know what you use, and I'll be better able to help you.

I hope this solves your problem of copy and wish you a nice day!

If you appreciate my help so please let others know by clicking on the icon below my post thumbs up.
