HP Compaq dc5800 microtour format: Audio does not work after Windows 10

I've updated from WIndows 7 to Windows 10 in March; on board his system worked right here. Since updates this summer (July 12, I think, although it could be later), the internal speakers don't work. the computer does not detect the presence of the internal speakers (only external speakers and microphone).

I tried using the Device Manager to update the drivers: controllers audio and audio - HD Audio device - runs the update and says my drivers are up to date (but only registers external speakers). I tried the HP site you are looking for the driver that is compatible with my setup - no luck.

You can either help me get the driver link or to suggest another solution? Is it possible to retrieve and use (for example) the driver I had for Windows 7? or an earlier operating system?

Thank you!

Hello:

See if it works...

I used the W7 ADI soundmax audio driver on my dc7800, which uses the same audio chip.

It's the support dc5800 page...

This package contains the driver for the ADI Audio CODEC high definition (HD) in desktop models and operating systems supported.

FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp45501-46000/sp45615.exe

Then, you need to enable playback in the soundmax Control Panel, restart the PC and select the speaker in the management section of audio devices in the control panel (hardware and sound).

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp63501-64000/sp63555.exe

When finished, press and hold the Windows key and press R

In the run window, type devmgmt.msc and press to enter.

In Device Manager, expand sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When this has completed, restart the laptop.

When windows has reloaded, open your download folder, right click on IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, reboot the laptop and let windows load completely for a few minutes before checking.

  • Audio does not work after an update in Windows 8

I use a laptop HP Folio 9470 m... Last week some update was installed to win 8 and after that my audio is not working properly. Every time when I need to play a song or a movie, or watch something on the Internet, I need first logout, then after logging in first, I need to open the drive. Other wise the audio does not work... Whenever I check to test the speakers, it shows its used by another application, but there is no application by using the audio device. I checked all the drivers, and everything is right in there... But I don't understand that either the app using the audio device in the background... I even reconfigured my system, suspecting it was a virus. But after installing the operating system first two days, that it worked fine, and then a few updates got installed, now return to the box starting... I can see the updates which has installed, but cannot identify the one which may cause this disorder...

One, any help is deeply appreciated.

    Thanks in advance...

    AG.

07/11/14 - the problem is caused by the updates of security KB2964736 and KB2965788, which has turned off the sound from the speakers and output microphone of my VAIO laptop, as well as all the features in iTunes.

I was able to determine that, because now, I manually install updates after the last problems caused by automatic updates. Having discovered this problem, I did a system restore to before the updates to get my sound back, then I manually created a restore point individual for each update before installing. It was a frustrating and time-consuming process, but I could locate the defective updates that I've now hidden so that they will not download on my laptop.

07/12/14 as a result of writing the earlier yesterday, all sounds had again been disabled when I started my laptop this morning. I did another system restore before installing updates security yesterday (KB2965788, KB2939576, KB2964736, KB2957189) AND my sound back. I've now updated iTunes with the latest version in the hope that this stops the residual fault caused by security updates and I will keep you informed.

    @klb75,.

    Thanks for posting.

The cardinal rule of when something does not work after update to 8.1 is put it back in place. This applies to the printing software and all other software. Uninstall from the control panel configuration, programs and features. Then, restart the computer.

After that, download and install this software: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=al-108718-3&cc=ca&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4158&product=5157483&sw_lang=

    * Thus, before installing the software, disable all Firewall/antivirus software. This software can create conflicts with the printer software.

If reinstalling it does not help, run print and scan doctor. He could fix it... http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?CC=CA&LC=en&JumpID=ex_r4155/HHO/IPG/ccdoc/printer_diag/&softwareitem=MP-135113-1

Installation of Windows service does not work after Explorer 9 uninstallation and reinstallation of 8.  I followed several suggestions on this forum, but still no luck.  I ran the SFC system twice, who told me he had corrupted files.  "Some have been repaired and some might not be."  I then went in the event viewer after a start to the top and he stated that the 'Adobe APM service' is not found.  Also the "hpqddsvc' and the 'gupdate' is not found.  He tries to install something every time I start, but he abandoned.  I checked whether the system is on and disabled.  It's on.  There are a lot of small problems, but my main concern is the Adobe program.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe, but still get an error message that the Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. • Troubleshooting Guide: Audio does not work after a Certain period of time

    Hi all

Thank you for choosing the HP Forums!

If your sound recently stopped working on Windows 8.x or Windows Server 2012 and you suspect an update of Windows is involved, then look like! This is the troubleshooting guide that will explain how to solve the problem!

    Explanation:

Currently, there is a Windows update that may cause the sound on your computer to stop working. The update is KB2962407, and it is now an "Important" update This means that it will be installed by Windows Update unless hide you it.

This thread also covers generic sound troubleshooting which can solve the problems of "no sound".

Before the update itself, since an update of Windows cannot be the culprit, there are a few troubleshooting can be done.

    A round of troubleshooting:

    1. run the Audio Troubleshooting in Windows 8 may solve the problem. It does not contain the possibility of eliminating any parameter that affects sound. Here are some steps on how to perform this troubleshooting:

    (a) hold down the key "Windows" and "R" and type "Troubleshooting" and then press ENTER.

    (b) a window will open. On the left, click on "Show all", then "Audio playback".

    (c) click on 'Advanced' and run it as an administrator. Then click on 'Next' to complete the process.

2 try to create a new user account. The changes forced by the update that is likely to affect only a single user. This HP document shows you how to create a new user in the section "creating a new account in Windows 8": users and connections (Windows 8) account management

    3. try a pair of headphones or external speakers. This is set by the whole issue if the sound does not work via an output of second or third device.

    4. an alternative is to uninstall the driver manually and then force to be installed again:

    (a) open the Device Manager and go to the section "audio, video controller and game."

    (b) make a right click on your audio driver and select "Uninstall".

    (c) restart the computer. This will force the material to write a new driver at startup.

    5. Finally, to ensure that the remaining steps that you have not tried this document are tempted: no sound from speakers (Windows 8)

    New inclusions:

Deactivating and activating the audio driver has been tested with success results enough for me to post here. Here are the instructions to do this:

    (a) open the Device Manager and go to the section "audio, video controller and game."

    (b) make a right click on your audio driver and select "disable."

    (c) wait a minute, then right-click on it and select 'enable '.

Also, the restoration of the system is also a valid troubleshooting step. This will return the computer to a point before the update or an external source of the issue has occurred. Here is a document on how to perform a system restore: System Restore

If you want something strong, an update of Windows completely refreshes Windows 8, without affecting the files: refresh your PC to solve problems (Windows 8)

Also, this is a sound of Windows troubleshooting tutorial. Just out of curiosity, I've recreated the problem on a Windows 8 and went through this tutorial. He has been able to solve the problem: no sound in Windows

*Everything in italics is currently untested, but will be tested as soon as possible. I believe that these steps will help:

In the search bar, type "services.msc" and press ENTER.

Hold down the 'Windows' and 'R '. Type "services.msc" and press ENTER. Look for the following services:

    -Audio service

    -Windows audio

    -Windows Audio endpoint Builder

I want you right click on each of these services and select "Stop". When they all stopped, right-click on each other again and select 'start '. So, make sure that the status of each service is "started" and their startup type is "Automatic".

    Troubleshooting of the update:

At this point, unless you want to reinstall the operating system, the only other option is to tackle the update, KB2962407. Please note that the following troubleshooting is ONLY a workaround, for now and should be done only if the computer has installed this update.

First of all, you can try the hotfix package content in this document from Microsoft, specifically at the KB2962407 address: RT of Windows, Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 cumulative hotfix: June 2014

If that doesn't help, then uninstall the update of Windows and then hide it, are the only way to eliminate the question if she caused by this update. Here is the procedure to uninstall the update:

    1. go in Control Panel, then click on "programs and features".

    2. click on "view installed updates". Look for the update with ID KB2962407.

    3. right click on the update and select "Uninstall". Restart the computer.

Then, here is the procedure in order to hide the update:

    1. go in Control Panel, then click on "Windows Updates".

    2. click on ' Check for Updates '. When the process is complete, is expected to find important updates available. By clicking on the message will open a window where is the important updates.

    3. right click on the KB2962407 update and select "Hide update". This will prevent the installation update next time that Windows updates are installed.

    Conclusion:

At the end of this guide, you will have the sound works again (assuming that the cause was the update of Windows, or the less focused on the software). Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you!

  • Y700 - Dolby Audio does not work after resetting the system

After resetting my computer to factory settings, audio dolby does not work. This is the error message I get:

"Your installation is missing components. Reinstall the audio driver or the stand-alone components available on the support site for the manufacturer of your PC. »

His works on my computer, just not this request.

    Thanks for the help.

    Matt

I have the same problem, I have a 70-Z40 and the Dolby Digital Plus open, but does not work, you can choose the profile but is not even, I have this problem after the last windows 10 updated a few days ago.

I hope you can help, thanks in advance

EDIT: I solved it after a few tries, I don't know if it is the best way, but it's how I solve this problem:

    (1) Delete last windows update (after that, it did not)

    (2) delete the sound driver from Device Manager and reboot (it did not)

    (3) download the driver for my lenovo model page and install it (it did not)

    (4) any uninstall Conexant audio and Dolby of my computer and re - install again (it does not), it seems that my dolby 7.6.4.9 driver version is not correct, I need the 7.5.1.1

    (5) again to uninstall everything and restart

-From there, he solved my problem

    (6) go on my computer (my system is in Spanish, so I don't know the correct name for the version in English, sorry) and then go to the Lenovo partition, then open drivers > Audio > Setup.exe This will install your Conexant audio driver, and then restart.

    (7) after you restart your laptor, do the same thing... Lenovo > drivers > Audio > DolbyGUI > x 64 > DolbyDigitalPlusHT.msi, and then restart your computer and it should work fine.

    Sorry for my English.

  • Effects of Dolby Advanced Audio does not work on Windows 8.1

    Hello

I've upgraded my HP Pavilion G6 2242sf to Windows 8.1 and the sound quality is not as good as in Windows 8: Control Panel in the equalizer Dolby works but switch the Dolby Advanced Audio check box has no effect, so there is no more virtualization surround and 3 effects 'Movie', 'Music', and 'The voice' don't work anymore.

Now my computer laptop speakers sounds choppy... Could you help me solve this problem?

OK I tried a lot of IDT Audio Driver version and I found one that works correctly with Windows 8.1: the 6.10.6482 version. Here are the questions I lived on other versions of this driver:

6.10.6425 to 6.10.6466 : Dolby effects working correctly, by speakers is good, but in the headphones sound is not "strengthen". Equalizer does not work.

6.10.6491 and more : Equalizer works but other effects dolby (Surround virtualization, Volume Leveler, etc.) does not work and the sound from the speakers of the laptop is low (even at 100%).

If you have Dolby Advanced Audio V2, 8.1 Windows on your PC and you meet one of these questions, the 6.10.6482 driver is the best for you, because all the features (virtualization Surround, Volume Leveler, equalizer, etc.) works.

To download: click here and follow the instructions on the screen.

HP so please update drivers download pages... Ex: 2242sf drivers page, it is only the IDT 6.10.6425 driver for Windows 8.1 while the 6.10.6482 is available on other sites.

My microphone is turned on and the volume is growing.

    Any ideas?
