HP dc5800: dc5800 KVR800D2N6/G

Hello

I remember sitting around the House that fit well in my HP Compaq dc5800. They are pieces of Kingston, Ref. KVR800D2N6 / 2 G. Specifically, I have 4 that would bring the machine up to 8 GB.

My concern is that Kingston said on its website that these models have specific memory needs. Namely, KTH-XW4400C.

My RAM would be compatible and if yes, how performance would be different from the recommended Kingston?

Help much appreciated.

Carlos.

Hi, Carlos:

I think they work very well, looking at the specs.

Try them both and see what happens.

Worst case is that you get the memory 5 beep error.

Put one in the black 1 (slot) location and the other in the Groove 3.

You must have matching sizes of memory in slots 1 and 2 and 3 and 4.

  • HP Compaq dc5800 microtour format: Audio does not work after Windows 10

I've updated from WIndows 7 to Windows 10 in March; on board his system worked right here. Since updates this summer (July 12, I think, although it could be later), the internal speakers don't work. the computer does not detect the presence of the internal speakers (only external speakers and microphone).

I tried using the Device Manager to update the drivers: controllers audio and audio - HD Audio device - runs the update and says my drivers are up to date (but only registers external speakers). I tried the HP site you are looking for the driver that is compatible with my setup - no luck.

You can either help me get the driver link or to suggest another solution? Is it possible to retrieve and use (for example) the driver I had for Windows 7? or an earlier operating system?

    Thank you!

    Hello:

    See if it works...

I used the W7 ADI soundmax audio driver on my dc7800, which uses the same audio chip.

    It's the support dc5800 page...

This package contains the driver for the ADI Audio CODEC high definition (HD) in desktop models and operating systems supported.

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp45501-46000/sp45615.exe

Then, you need to enable playback in the soundmax Control Panel, restart the PC and select the speaker in the management section of audio devices in the control panel (hardware and sound).

  • Best graphics card for DC5800 microtour help standard feed format

    Hello

I have a 3 GHz running Vista with 4 GB memory DC5800.  I do not hi end game just to stuff like Bejewelled.

I'm looking to put a video card. I already have an identical machine under XP. Who has a NVidia quattro 290. 256 MB

I am watching a 512 GB or even 1 GB or more, but suspect that my choice will be very limited because I don't want the hassle of changing the standard 300W power supply.

I read somewhere for advice on this forum that a Galaxy GEForce NVidia 9600 card will do the job she uses only the 60Watts.

I got an ASUS Nvidia GEForce 9600GT 512 MB card, which attracts up to 75W. Will I be OK with that, please?

Any other suggestions for 512 or 1 GB graphics cards with low energy consumption gratefully received. Maybe the Radeon HD 5450?

    Thanks a lot El Varche

    Hi, El Varche:

If you like Nvidia cards I'd throw in a GT 630, which, according to the specifications, works with a 300 W P/S.

    http://www.GeForce.com/hardware/desktop-GPUs/GeForce-gt-630/specifications

Get a video card with a 128-bit memory interface.

Some models to choose from below.

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/ProductList.aspx?submit=Ene & N =-1 & IsNodeId = 1 & Description = gt % 20630 & Bop = and & Order = Rating & PageSize = 20

You can easily change the P/s in a business office in HP, so you almost have to work within the one you have.

  • dc5800 sff computer of office: purchase recovery disc for dc5800 sff system, model KA404UT #ABA

I am the 2nd owner of computer and appears as former owner had installed a Dell on this HP operating system. would be OK but drive hard contains of disk errors that Windows cannot fix. Leading to intermittent shutdowns and all kinds of fluctuations to get a Win 7 upgrade disk to restart Windows. HP does not sell the RRD more. I'd be willing to pay for the discs, if someone has a set of left.

    Hello:

Most of the dc5800 comes with Windows Vista Business or Vista Business downgraded to XP Pro, like yours, so HP has never had recovery disc for the dc5800 W7.

    https://h10057.www1.HP.com/ecomcat/hpcatalog/specs/provisioner/05/KA404UT.htm

You call this number (USA/Canada) to see if HP recovery Vista Business left discs?

Demand for 64-bit because otherwise you will get 32 bits.

    1-800-334-5144

If they do not, you can still get a set of this provider not HP - looks like only 32-bit however.

You can call and ask if they have Vista Business 64-bit games.

I was wondering if I could put in the following processor to move to 64-bit:

    Intel Core 2 Duo E8600

Also, I have to change the motherboard too? If so, any suggestions?

    Hello:

All processors in a dc5800 are capable of 64-bit.

Depending on the number of product for your PC, it comes with the E8400.

Here are the specs on this Intel processor.

    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/33910/Intel-Core2-Duo-processor-E8400-6M-cache-3_00-GHz-1333-MHz-FSB?q=E8400

I'm not see many benefits from the E8400 at the E8600 but if you want to, go ahead.

If you live in the USA/Canada, all you have to do is call HP to this number 1-800-334-5144 and tell the rep you customer service need a set of Vista Business 64-bit recovery disc, and you can install Vista x 64.

  • dc5800 video card update

Hi, would like to know if the ATI Radeon 1 GB PCI-E DVI HDMI graphics card HD6450 will be able to run in a dc5800.

    Thank you

    Hello:

Yes, this card will work fine.

Make sure that you first uninstall the current graphics card in the Device Manager, shut down the PC and install the new video card.

Because the new video card has an HDMI processor, it allows to disable the sound system and the integrated video.

To activate the sound system after installing the graphics driver, restart the PC, go into BIOS > advanced > menu Options of the device and change the audio setting on "Enabled".

Save the setting it by hitting the F10 key and again when you go out (save the settings and exit).

After reboot, the integrated audio system will return.

  • dc5800 SFF: HP dc5800 SFF: firmware Install with new processor Q9400

I have a HP dc5800 SFF with a core 2 duo dual core cpu. Checking the list of caught CPU supported, I installed a cpu Q9400 supported. Started the machine and got an error in the microcode. Research and found that I needed to download the firmware file that I made this site, the file is called "sp51245.exe."

How to install this file? The computer does not start, gives just the firmware error. Restore the old CPU to then run the firmware file so I install the Q9400?

    Sorry, that didn't work.

The only other suggestion I can offer would be updated the BIOS with the latest version.

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?sp4ts.Oid=3658095&swItemId=vc_97162_1&swEnvOid=2103

To update the BIOS, you take a USB flash drive, format it with the FAT32 file system.  Do not make the bootable disc.

Copy the contents of the file flash BACK found in the BIOS update file (launch the executable and it will open a help page and you can copy the files from this page by clicking on the link there).

With the flash drive connected in the USB of the PC port boot, press the F10 key to access the BIOS.

On the file menu, there will be an option ROM Flash System.

Select this option and follow the instructions on the screen to Flash the BIOS.

If all goes well, that will remove the microcode update error.

Just keyboard, mouse, monitor and drive connected to the computer when you Flash the BIOS.

If that does not clear the error, unfortunately, I won't have any other suggestions for you.

As you know the processors you tried are taken in charge in the PC and why they don't work, I have no idea.

For your convenience, I attached the files to update the BIOS below... once again, you unzip the files and copy the contents of the file in the folder in your drive formatted FAT 32.
