HP dv8333cl problem - Green Green screen and screen vertical lines

I had Staples easytech replace the CMOS battery in my laptop and in the process of reassembling the tech got green lines on the LCD screen.  He was frustrated and gave up after four days.  I brought the computer home and plugged the second monitor.  The video on the external monitor was perfect.  Now, I suspect the cable or pins to my laptop screen are messy.  Is there a link of good disassembly out there for my going back in and the problem of troubleshooting.  I do not sound like a novice, but shrunken technology has this old man with fat fingers a little frustrated.

Return to the store where he worked on and insist firmly on the wound by making a repair. Frustration of the tech isn't your problem.

Display problems that did not exist should not have happen with a replacing the CMOS battery. Replacing the CMOS battery in a dv8000 series laptop is a simple task. It's a question of withdrawal of the door of memory and memory modules themselves to access the CMOS battery.

Here's a link to the guide Service and maintenance for dv8000 series notebooks. I suggest let you disassemble the laptop for technicians.

Recently, I spotted the appearance of colored screen vertical lines, each has 1 pixel thick. The lines altogether 6 now. They are distributed in thickness and the positions they take on the screen remains unchanged at the start of the system.

I wonder if this may be incurred by the failure of the video card or the TFT matrix?

Test it with external monitor. If the situation is the same as the graphics card is defective.
Otherwise, if the image is normal, it must be defective LCD screen on the laptop.

  • Pavilion dv4 laptop: HP Pavilion dv4 laptop grey screen vertical lines

    (1) a couple of months there are 3 vertical lines have appeared on the left side of the laptop screen.  Then the last two weeks all of a sudden the entire screen turns into a gray color with vertical lines.  Happened three times already and don't know what to do.  Not too computer saavy (I'm a senior) and it will bring relief but I don't want to get cheated and want to be less well informed about what it could be.  Read something about a UPS (not sure what that means).  When this happens, I have of course turn off the pc, wait a few minutes and turn it back on.  Don't know what is the cause.

Maybe I should change the screen, is it expensive?

    (2) also I am on a wireless network and pages have sometimes a delay in loading or it says it is not connected.  Called my provider and they do not know what the problem is.  Six mos Fox their service has worked very well, all of a sudden it doesn't and of course they blame my pc.  If anyone knows why this would happen intermittently?

Thanks in advance. Enjoy all your help...

    Hello @maxinemaxine1,

    Thanks for the quick response!

There may be several reasons why you would have this problem.  Wise software, it can be related to malware.  Or maybe your drivers should be updated.  Hardware wise, the graphics card may be faulty. It is possible that the display cable is not correctly connected or is faulty.  It is also possible that the display on the wall it itself is damaged.  I hope this helps.

    Kind regards!

  • iMac late 2009, squares spread on the screen, vertical lines of color

Hi, while working on the imac 2009 end got suddenly squares scattered all over the screen and froze, rely on the button in the back to restart. After reboot when starting, I got colored vertical lines at the same time with the logo of apple and after the screen whent white, and that's it nothing else, remains just white. Appreciate any input.

Sounds like your graphics card has failed. Find a CENTER in your area and make it check and get an estimate to determine if it is cost effective to repair.

    Hi GoodTmsBadTimes,

Your processor is attached to the motherboard that can be very expensive. Most of the time the motherboard is more than a new computer. Sorry for this information.

  • Qosmio X 300 - 14 p: problems of graphics card and the vertical stripes on the screen

    Hello

2 days, after a long session laptop in many hours a lot, all of a sudden after the game for 2 hours
Patrician 4 addon, it crushed in a strange and never seen before in a way:

The screen would show the strange and weird color under all its forms rushing on ther display. You can't recognize anything, and after a few seconds of this screen and the x 300 - 14 p completely froze / crashed (hung - no reaction on anything except power plug pull or pressure on the button 5 seconds walk / stop ther).

I was scared because it looked like to me a serious problem of graphics (nvidia chip) card or display.

I was hoping it was because of the heat (even if I have a powerful block of cooling below the laptop and the heat shouldn't be a problem).

Next day (yesterday), I launched the game immediately after the start, and after a few seconds the same crash appeared again with the same strange video glitches (never seen anything strange like this before).

I immediately made the 5 second power button press reset. and then, when the first splash screen appears (the bios display indicator and the loading/splash screen), there was like 2-7 white stripes vertical (on black background) on the right side of the screen.
They would not move or go away.

I immediately turned off the laptop and it is off since then.

For me this looks really serious, as if each chip nvidia (Geforce 9800 GTX) is broken or the display.

    Someone knows something about it?
    Everyone knows about this problem?
    Who knows more?

I know, I can now connect an external monitor.
If there is no problem, this should mean that it is a x 300 display problem

If the problem also appears on the external monitor, the nvidia gpu chip. At least that would be my guess.

Anyone have an idea about it, what it might be and what I could do?

(I'm afraid to send him only the x 300 in to toshiba for fixing is not worth, because it's quite old)
(it was purchased new in June 2009). fixing, it is probably too expensive.

    Any ideas on HCet problem?
    I've never had before.
    Who can help?

    Thank you

    PS:
I was thinlking to buy the new qosmio X 870, but I just saw that there is no express card slot, I need for different expansion modules (like the tv and video equipment, more etc.pp cards e-sata).

Without an express card slot I would not buy any laptop computer, I need urgently this slot machine (it's like a pci-express slot card connection in a desktop pc).

For me the express card slot is vital.
Never saw so many bad books.

If io may need my x 300 for quite awhile,
But what I would do abpout this weird new chip/video display problem?

    Hello

I agree with you that it looks like a GPU problem.
This means that it is the worst case, because in most cases the motherboard needs to be replaced
Even if the GPU would be replaceable, this piece would be very expensive
However, you can get in touch with a local ASP from Toshiba and can ask how it is

    Good luck

  • MacBook Pro won't restart and has vertical lines that go down the scree.

Recently, my macbook pro to update so I rebooted. To do this, the computer turns on and starts the update but there are lines running down the screen. To about 1/4 of the way through, the screen turns gray, and then shuts down and restarts the process again. I ran a test of equipment and he came without any problem. • Satellite L500/00W - gray screen with lines appeared twice

    Hello

2 weeks ago, I bought a laptop Toshiba Satellite L500/00W and today I was reading something online that this grey screen with lines to come...
He did so twice already... I do worry...

This could be the cause? How should I do? This happen to anyone else?

    Thank you
    Lily

    Hello

I m not L500 owner so I can't tell you if that happened or not.
I A200 and U400 for my company and I didn t have shown such symptoms in the past

He signed strange s if the display changes the brightness and display vertical lines.
It might be a problem of display or something with the graphics card.

If you see this new symptom then I would recommend connecting the laptop for external monitor to check if the same would be visible on the screen 2.

If the same would be seen on 2nd screen there is a big chance that and GPU would be affected.

  • ProBook 6560 b: Probook 6560 b screen has lines blue vertical + VIDEO TDI FAILURE (atikmpag.sys)

    [IMG] http://i68.Tinypic.com/zya8mb.jpg [line]

    [IMG] http://I66.Tinypic.com/sfb2uq.jpg [line]

My computer runs Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 7 64 bit in a dual boot, my laptop has a 6470 M graphic ATI card.

I was running a game in Windows 10 when 'glitches' started occurring on the screen, the blue strips on the screen vertical lines.  Then I tried to check for the latest drivers, I already had the latest, but tried to install the Beta Edition Crimson.

Questions seem to get worse, windows would start well, but by practicing a game the screen would suddenly get these strange blue strips, and when the screen is black the whole screen is filled with blue dots.

I left the laptop running for awhile, and when I came back to it, the screen was out of order so I restarted.

Blue stripes appear now already during the welcome of the hp bios screen before the OS has been loaded. What, I'm unable to connect to Windows 10 in normal mode, as he complains of a "FAILURE of TDI VIDEO (atikmpag.sys)" error and stops at blue screen. ""
I am able to log in window s10 in safe modeand when it is connected to an external display by VGA adapter, but there are always strange objects and strips of blue lines.

The same blue lines appear in windows 7, also I am here only able to log on in safe mode.

In my haste to fix this with a driver issue, I'm also currently not able to uninstall the driver thanks to the "add or remove programs" in windows 10, maybe I should have uninstalled the other driver first. The uninstall program gives an error message, I think it's "initialization error" or something similar (I can check when I get home)

I tried to update the bios of F.22 to F.61 too, but there is nothing.

My theory is that the ATI card actually suffered a severe hardware malfunciton, as the seeds of graphs already occur before the operating system is loaded, in the screen/HP logo screen bios welcom immediately after startup. I can't realistically replace the ATI card, so I'm afraid that the laptop is now brick. As the laptop is an I5 2520, I guess it's a HD3000 Intel integrated graphics card, but I've never seen this map in "Device Manager", it's in my mind, maybe the last option I have, can I just bypass the ATI card and use the other onboard graphics, that would be acceptable to me.

I would be eternally grateful if anyone has any suggestions for me.

If you see the lines on the screen when it makes BIOS initialization with the HP logo then it is not a driver issue, it is a hardware failure.

In the probooks I was inside the video is integrated in the motherboard, so the odds on the motherboard needs to be replaced to fix your problem.

  • Video problems and a green screen

    Hello

I read the questions and answers on this topic, but some things work and others do not.  For example, I was able to solve one of my problems with some other fixes I found through online forums General for the 'green' screen that plays with the audio only.  It seems to work for me on you tube but not on Facebook more videos alhtough Facebook worked the first time when I rebooted.

What I did get into my internet options and under accelerated graphics that I checked use software rendering instead of...

and on the Security tab, I checked activate 64-bit processes in increased protected...  It Enhanced protected mode should as well then?  Should I check this option.

I also treid to do what the responses recommended... as a right click on the video on Facebook when he plays and then I get a pop up I get the settings options or global settings and adobe flash player info... by clicking on settings gives me options but none for "screen", only for my microphone, camera and storage.  If I click on global settings, need me to flash player help.  And the last option, I get my version of Adobe info, which is version 13.00.214.  So no option to uncheck the box disable accelerated graphics cause I think I already did this in Control Panel.

But why is working with youtube and videos from Facebook that I also tried to play videos as wmv and other video files files in my windows media player flash and then I get a screen black but still audio not play now.

My computer is a HP Pavilion Notebook PC and it came with Windows already installed 8.1.  My graphics card is a Radeon R5 AMD graphics card.

So what the devil now.  Should I install more recent Adode Player?  Even by unchecking the option graphis accelerated, this isn't really a solution for the deeper problem and the question, because then it slows down your graphics card?

My computer is not even a week and I hate having to always download the patches and constant updates and spend hours searching for and trying to solve a problem that really should not appear in a first time.  Why are there so many problems with Windows?  Is this a problem with windows updates as well.  Active X controls?  Isuses of compatibility with 64-bit processes.  Can I use Firefox.  I did with my old HP, which finally launched the bucket and that's why I had to buy a new one.  I had to replace my battery before a year and my warranty battery lasted that long either and then the thing finally overheated and died.  But I had a lot of similar things happen before with the last HP laptop if it's Windows or is it HP or is it browsers, readers?

I'm sorry if I'm unloading on you... I want too much, but it's so frustrating as a consumer of always having to go through such things.  I use my laptop to work on his own account so please help!

Thanks for letting me vent...  I'd appreciate your help, thank you.

    A frustrated customer

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I'm sorry you're having problems.  I looked into your problem with video problems.

    You have uninstalled Internet Explorer?

    Have you tried Google Chrome?

It already includes Adobe® Flash® Player built-in. Google Chrome automatically updates when new versions of Flash Player are available. Adobe are on version 15. Here'sa place to update. It has a link to Google Chrome as well.

Here is a link to common problems of Flashplayer.

I would try a system restore because this could undo any change that could happen with an update from Microsoft. Sometimes they have not completed or installed on the laptop.

    Hope this helps you.
