Hello.

I'm having a lot of trouble with my scanner. First I tried to scan to my computer, but it wouldn't connect. I was then able to get the scan to email works, however not it keeps saying failed scan. I'm not sure what to do?

I understand that what you see a scan failure error trying to analyze with your HP ENVY 5532 e-all-in-one printer to your Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite. I want to help you with that.

Failure of scan — messages, on the printer or the PC monitor usually indicate a problem with the printer hardware.

Sometimes scans fail because not enough power is starting the printer and the scanner bulb is not able to become fully enlightened. When it comes to scanning, it can certainly help to plug the printer directly into a wall and try to avoid using limiters power surge or power bars.

Here is a document, you can use to troubleshoot the failure of scan - A 'Scanner failure' Message displays on the all-in-one control panel and you can not scan, copy or fax.

    The error message is displayed on PC or printer when you try to scan.

    If the error is displayed on the screen of the PRINTER, then unplug the power cord from the back of the printer, so that the printer is turned on. Wait for 60 seconds and then plug in the power cord. Then try scanning. It should work.

    If the error is on the PC, then try the steps below

    • Press CTRL + D to go to the desktop, then
    • Press CTRL + R to access the window RUN and type folder and press OK.
    • TEMPORARY folder will be displayed, delete the contents of this folder.
    • Restart the PC.
    • Now, try to scan.

    Hello, I recently dropped my laptop (on a small height) and he stopped truning on. I have and run the hard drive test instead it gives the message smart hard disk check has detected an imminent failure. to ensure no data loss Please save the content immediately and run the system diagnostics hard drive test.

    I did this and got the id 9amas1-7bd81r-mfpv6k - 60 c 803 failure.  Any ideas what this means or suggestions for my next move. Im guessing Im going to have to buy a new hard drive, but is anyway to get my data off the old 1 before I lose it?

    Error code 24 characters for the failure of the Smart is no indication that the hard drive is failing and must be replaced.  It is also compatible with the laptop after falling.

    To recover your data would be to remove the HARD disk, place it in an external enclosure - is an example of the link below - connect to another PC and see if you can access your files.

  • PhotoSmart D110: Scan failure, failure of HP Solutions Center

    Well, I just moved to a new Lenovo PC Dell 6 years. The two are running win 10 64 with automatic updates. On the Lenovo printer funtion works fine, but I'm unable to scan. On the side of things, it seems that the HP Solutions Center is no longer installed HP for the MS side of things Windows think that there is no scanner installed.

    I followed all the steps listed for troubleshooting including:

    Turn things and turn it back on (duh!).

    Running of the HPPSdr several times.

    Uninstall and reinstall all the software on my PC HP.

    Re-run the HPPSdr and do a full install (another).

    All this without result.

    I have also installed the HPAiO Remote app (which seems to be the replacement of HP for the center of solutions) and it also reports that "HP AiO Remote is not able to scan from the printer".

    HP website reports that HP can't stand the printer.

    So, my guess based on all this is that the latest driver HP deleted the scan from the Desktop feature. My inner conspiracy theorist think it's just a conspiracy to get me to buy a new printer. My Inner Economist think that HP does not want to spend more money on an "obsolete" product and left scanning support to get me to buy a new printer. My realistic interior think some dope just forgot to cut and paste the code analysis functionality in Win 10 driver and this minor oversight through QC.

    Did somebody solve this problem?

  • Fax and scan failure to 'Handshake' Windows 7 Windows

    My F & S Win has troubled handshaking of the Canada Fax Server to a UK Government Department.

    I want to fax to the Retreat Center International UK for the Department of work & Pensions in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, United Kingdom

    I had this problem for a while. I know their number 4. [Examples can be provided]

    My Win F & S connects with the phone number UK Fax Server, it is answered, but they cannot "handshake" and move forward.

    Win F & S indicates "No Answer" despite the attempt of my UK hearing this number "handshake".

    My final solution was to dial and dial and dial and dial 3 numbers in a row, until finally a "handshake" is complete

    BUT

    Last half of 2014, even this solution did not work.

    Faxes and from Canada has sent/REC/WAV would normally be. Last fax in the UK other than above UK Govt Dept send OK

    Modem Conexant D850 PCI V.92 driver is up to date. Fax Modem OEM early 2011.

    Log point only unusual (excerpt below) is saying "DSR is low during the initialization of the modem. Check if modem is turned on.

    What type of telephone service you have?  In particular, you try to connect your fax modem to a VoIP service (Internet phone) such that you can get cable TV providers Internet service or through the use of a product like the MagicJack or is the fax modem connected to an analog telephone line old?

    If you can send and receive faxes from any other fax machines, the issue is highly unlikely be caused by one of Windows issues mentioned by the "Support Engineer".

    The segment of the modem log and that you have provided normal air.  It's all part of the modem initiation procedure.  The modem log does not include real sending or receiving a fax.  Low DSR message seems to be normal (it's in my diary too).

    If you use a normal phone line, my guess is that there is a problem at the Retreat Center International UK.  There might be a support tech office here, but I doubt it.

    If you use VoIP, ask your service provider for assistance.

    Assuming that it is important that you can send a fax to the recipient, I suggest that you look in one of the online services of fax Internet such as eFax.com...  I don't have any personal experience with any of these services.  See http://lifehacker.com/5635900/five-best-fax-services

    Download "Scan Failure" every time a computer is turned on. Printer works. No unit will analyze. Software (HP Solution Center) will run the scans, but the device will not be. Must be a hardware problem with the scanner? Have uninstalled, reinstalled software and drivers. Updated everything that can be updated. Recently moved to computer XP again computer Win7 and the same problem on two BONES. Would be willing to take it apart to replace the parts.

    You can try the steps in this document to clear the error scanner, but normally, if your getting this message, it's the end of the line for the scanner.  I'm sorry.

    Hi, I'm Green striped wallpaper is the best way to describe it, when I scan a document color the entire page has this striped background green and the image being analyzed. The printer is around the age of 18 months.

    I tried all the diagnostic tools that are available through the printer, nothing seems to clear it.

    I understand that your e-all-in-one printer of 5532 Envy is scanning with green lines. I can help you with that.

    To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet , not a surge protector. Once it's done remove any paper flat from the printer and turn the printer off, then on again. Finally we will try to make a copy. If the copy has lines so you have a hardware problem. If you are able to make a copy without lines so you can have a software problem.

    If you have a hardware problem

    While the printer is turned on remove the cable at the back of the printer for a minute, turn on the printer and try to make a copy.

    If the copy always has lines in it then we will make a factory reset the printer. I'll send you some pointers on how to do so shortly in a private message.

    If after the reset you still have lines in print then the printer needs to be replaced. You can contact HP support by clicking here and filling out the form below.

    Please follow these steps, which should solve the problem you are experiencing:

    1. from applications > Hewlett-Packatd, open the HP utility and select your device.
    2. based on Scan Settings open the "Scan to Computer".
    3. click on the tab "scan tasks.
    4. Select the shortcut Scan allows to analyze, and then click on edit.
    5. in the section of scanning from an HP device, click the blue triangle or button view details to expand the menu.
    6. in the expanded menu now, open the drop down next to cultures in and set as none.
    7. click OK and try to scan the image, the analysis should appear is more cultivated.

  • HP Envy 5532: Don't know where he went Document scanned on HP Envy 5532 (Winddows 8)

    I scanned a document on my computer and not been able to find it. When I scanned the document as picture, he went to My Documents folder in JPEG format, but it has been divided into 5 different analyses of tiny segments of the overall document. I googled this problem and advised to go into the settings when analyzing and changing the type of document from picture to the Document. So when I did that, he said he did, but I now can't find it in the folder My Documents are presented as a JPEG or PDF... little help would be greatly appreciated. It really shouldn't be this hard - in fact, I can say categorically that I never had a problem of scanning anything until I got this HP Envy product. The printer indicates analysis has been a success and I did it twice because I couldn't find the first scan, but I searched through my Desktop and Document files and can't seem to find it anywhere. Other printers I've used in the past to appear a screen on your monitor that lets you view your scan immediately but this printer has everything which is really annoying.

    Run the scan of the computer itself and not from the printer to change the scanning settings.

    Open the Windows 8 start screen and type CV, in the search results, open the HP Envy 5530 software.

    Click Scan offline or settings and change the settings as above.

    Perform a scan job, the settings will remain for façade scan option in the future.

    If all goes well, it should be resolved soon.

    In the meantime, one suggestion is to Scan as a jpeg or a document and attach it to the email.

  • HP Envy 5532: No option to scan the document and save it as a pdf from the computer updated for Windows 10

    My computer updated 'Windows 10' I don't seem to have the ability to save a scanned as pdf document. The drop down menu does not give me option pdf.

    The default setting is 'photo' and there is no option to scan multiple pages into a single document. It's really annoying because it was fine before and I do not know how to change the settings or even if it can be changed.
