  So have you contacted already technicians again? You must tell them that the problem is still not resolved and it must be another reason for this problem. Then get in touch with technicians again to clarify this issue.

  Have you connected external devices while laptop is turned off?
  -Online if yes remove each of them.

  Load default settings in the BIOS?
  -Online if it is not this. Enter in the BIOS, and then press the F9 key to load defaults.

  Do not take out the battery. It's my mistake thinking that you had a different device. In this case, the next step would be to have the unit repaired/replaced.

• HP Envy 750-116: can anyone recommend an upgrade of the power supply for HP Envy 750-116?

  I have a HP Envy Office 750-116 and need to replace the power supply 300W with an upgrade to a more powerful.

  I was look at is CORSAIR CXM CX550M 550W 80 PLUS BRONZE or the EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G2 80 series. I have kniow that they are all two excellent PSU.

  My concern is with the connector that the 750-116 uses to the optical drive. Looks like the kind of connector you see go to a laptop, DVD player. (It of really small and is marked P5)  I have a spare part HP 460W PSU I could use, but it is not a connector that would work. So I hesitate to buy Corsair or the EVGA without knowing if I'll be able to plug into this weird DVD connector in the HP Envy.

  Someone out there has run into that and find an answer?

  Optical drives are still a thing? Wow! Any ways OP. On these new machines. HP uses a slim with an owner drive

  Connector for it. You won't find it on the other PSU. You will have to abandon the drive if you replace the stock PSU.

  You had mentioned that the display breaks. Could you please elaborate on what you mean by breaking for me?

  As silly as it sounds, sometimes dust in the vents of the laptop can cause problems like this. Could you please clean the vents and see if that helps?

  Have you tried to play the game in Mode safe?

  It happens?

  Have you tried to uninstall the graphics driver in Device Manager?

  Have you tried to update the graphics driver in Device Manager?

  Have you done all your Windows updates?

  Have you tried to make updates using the HP Support Assistant?

  Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you need it. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updated.

  Have you tried to do a system restore to when it was working fine?

  Have you tried to do a hard reset?

  Did you do a BIOS reset?

  I have a document for you called Resolution Slow Performance of the system (Windows 8) and other to try troubleshooting procedures. I know this isn't the case except by playing the games, but the steps should help still the same thing.

• Probably two stupid installation questions...

  I just do a fresh install of El Cap on an SSD in my Mac Pro being initialized in another installation of El Cap (on a HARD drive).

  For various reasons, I had to run the installation program via an ethernet cable from my Macbook because was unable to download the Setup program when you start installing OSX on the HARD drive.

  I ran the installer and then came a prompt that the Mac Pro could restart 29 s so I pressed restart.

  Then the screen went black and a cone appeared.

  The spinner was there for probably 30 minutes before I pressed the power button to force a stop down.

  I installed El Cap several times before but never seen this behavior.

  When I pressed the power button again, the normal gray screen appeared and showed a bar countdown the minutes of progression

  And then I was able to complete the installation by entering the AppleID, etc..

  My two questions are 1) if installing from the Macbook could cause trouble? And (2) if I could have messed up anything forcing the closure downwards?

  I had happen in the past (2 or 3 times that I can remember) after installation with no adverse reactions.

  (1) no comments because I don't know

  (2) I doubt it, but it is still possible. If the system works as it should with no quirks, I guess everything was fine

  Alternatively, you can change the brightness of the screen by using the FN + F6 and FN F7.
  But as mentioned by Akuma; You should check the power options.
  I guess that the Toshiba Power Saver is installed because you use Win XP.

  In the configuration of the Toshiba Power Saver, you can assign the screen brightness level to certain power profile. For example; You can define a profile of power when the laptop is connected to the power adapter or another profile of power for battery operation.

  Perhaps the brightness of the display is set to a lower level, while the laptop works on sector
  Then change this value, and I think that this will solve your problem.

  I've never heard anything like this and I really don t understand exactly what is happening.
  In each power plan you can set the brightness of the screen. Please check the power options and also display options in the advanced power settings.
  Change these settings to see what will happen next time.

  In the end, I think that you don t need updates. You have more recent laptop and I'm pretty sure that the latest drivers, tools and utilities are already installed.

  Just got my new Envy 13 about 3 days ago, I have to scroll direction in 2 freeze each unique connection of reverse scrolling UNABLE. I clicked on apply whenever I changed the setting but still the same.

  Version Synaptics pointing device is 19.0.12.95.

  However, in the Web of Synaptic the last site available driver is Windows 10 PS/2 and v19.0.19.1 SMBus devices.

  I can just dwnload from here or wait for HP Support Assistant to deliver the new update of the Driver?

  For starters, can you provide me with the product number of the laptop?  Here is a link that you can use that will help you find your model and product number:

  How can I find my model number or product number?

  If the notebook came preinstalled with Windows 10?  Or you upgrade to Windows 10?  In the meantime, you can try following the steps provided by Member of the DanG82community:

  HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT THE TOUCHPAD SETTING RESET

  1. Download version 18 of the Synaptics TouchPad Driver and software.
     • Navigate to HP Software and Driver Downloads site (http://www8.hp.com/us/en/drivers.html) to find the last pilot approved for your model.  Filtrer filter by version, select Microsoft Windows 8.1 on the menu drop-down.  Find the download in the category 'driver-keyboard, mouse and input devices.  If a Synaptics driver with a version from 18 number figure, download.
     • If a Synaptics driver with a version from 18 number is NOT listed, download the driver directly from HP (http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp68001-68500/sp68198.exe).
  2. Download the Package of troubleshooting Windows 10 "show or hide updates" (http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/2/F22D5FDB-59CD-4275-8C95-1BE17BF70B21/wushowhide.diagcab).
  3. Change the Windows Update Services automatic (delayed start) parameter to the manual.
     • In Control Panel, select administrative tools, and open Services.
     • Go to Windows Update and double-click it to view its properties.
     • Click on stop to stop the service to run.
     • Change the Startup Type to manual, and then click OK.
  4. Uninstall the version 19 of the Synaptics TouchPad driver.
     • In Control Panel, select Device Manager.
     • Click on the "+' beside 'mouse and other pointing devices" to expand this category.
     • Double-click the Synaptics TouchPad of SMBus to view its properties.
     • Go to the driver tab and click on uninstall.
     • Check the box to delete the driver for this device, and then click OK to uninstall.
  5. Uninstall the version 19 of the software Synaptics TouchPad (HP control area).
     • In Control Panel, select programs and features.
     • Scroll down to the area of control of HP (published by Synaptics Incorporated) and uninstall it.
  6. Restart your computer.
  7. Install version 18 of the Synaptics TouchPad Driver and software.
  8. Run the Windows 10 Troubleshooting Package 'Show or hide updates' and hide the updates for the Synaptics TouchPad driver.  (This will block your system automatically reinstall or display of updates for the version 19 of the pilot).
  9. Change back the setting of Windows Update Services to manual automatic (delayed start).
  10. Restart your computer.
  11. Rejoice!  Your TouchPad settings will save eventually in the sessions again.

  I have two reports Rep1 and Rep2. I've set up navigation Rep1, Rep2 to drill by defining the column property to 'NAVIGATE' on Rep1 and have a 'GUEST IS' on Rep2.
  
  It was working fine when I tested it on OBIEE installing on my laptop. However, when I tried this on instance UAT one client I have the below question.
  
  Description of the problem: both Rep1 and Rep2 have multiple views. However, I need to drill the pivot view in rep1 to rotate the view in Rep2. I display the view of pivot since Rep1 on the dashboard page. However, whenever I try to break through to Rep2 he always exercises in table see REP2 but I want to drill to rotate the view in REP2.
  I tried to remove the table display in REP2 and then tried to navigate drill REP2. But now it does not display any view of Rep2.
  
  Is it possible to force display of pivot in REP2 drill to see to this navigation?

  BTW, if you go to your mode of Compound, what do you see for report 2? The PivotTable view is visible under the title of the view or is there anything under the title? There is a chance that you have a PivotTable that is configured, but you have not added to the compound mode and that you went straight to the Table to remove it. If so, you'd get your results. Please confirm that this is true or not.

  An alternative would be to buy an Apple TV, then use AirPlay on your Mac to stream content both Thunderbolt display, Mac and TV, but the TV must be HDTV.

• HP Envy 700-214: Message "locking of the power button.

  I am getting an intermittent box appears which says "Power Button lockout".

  Tour: HP Envy 700-214 with two display monitors

  Monitor 1: HP 2010 (DVI)

  Monitor 2: HP L1950g (VGA)

  Windows 8.1

  Periodically this box appears on the monitor 1.  Sometimes the monitor turns off.  When I turn it back on, I'll get a surveillance area of the State, which opens by saying:

  DVI: assets

  VGA: No Signal

  1600 x 900 60 hz

  Which is curious since the monitor that is upward is the DVI monitor.  However, this box disappears after a few seconds.

  Is the problem with my video card in the computer, or is it with the monitor?

  [ETA]  I stopped and restarted the computer and the monitor and held the key monitor more than 10 seconds, as suggested in other posts found here on this site. [/ETA]
