  I have a HP Envy 15-j078ca running windows 8.1 touchsmart and, recently, I noticed that my audio is static/crackling noises. A test, I plugged my head phones to see if it was a speaker problem or a problem of sound card and audio in my headphones was also static noises.

  I bought a new laptop a few days ago and tried to connect to the network without wire in our apartment for 2 days but nothing helped.

  So far, I did the following steps:

  -Restore the system to factory settings.

  -Powercycled the network.

  -Reset the TCP / IP / catalog Winsock.

  Problem has been resolved.

  Just in case someone else has the same problem, if you try to connect to a router and it communicates but don't connect does not then it might be a problem with the frequency to which you are trying to connect.

  In this case, my laptop could connect only to a 5 GHz frequency but my router was capable of a frequency of 2.4 ghz, so he was able to connect to all the rest but not that. (Particularly if you use a hub SKY).

  I recently bought about 4 months ago and it's great for a little while. But recently he would make this annoying glitch.   My last thought was to turn off the touch screen. What I did by going to Device Manager and by disabling one of the HIDDEN options. I've had several, so I had to try each of them since none were marked as the touch screen, but only as a HID device. It has worked so far and he has not clicked anywhere yet.

  Only quickly obvious difference is the hard drive. The ordinary reader with 141 5400 RPM and 184 has a hybrid drive with a 8GB flash cache which should improve performance a bit.
