HP Envy n010dx Touch Pad questions m6

I bought my HP Envy in early July of this year at Best Buy. Within 24 hours, the touchpad started giving me grief. It would open the side panel that shows you how many programs are open to the setting, cause the mouse to jump around when I used, would not respond to the command, nd just generally does not work. I did everything under the Sun I could think to the pc. I have uninstalled the drivers, uninstalled the whole touchpad, reset my pc to factory settings, nothing helped. Less than five minutes to turn on the computer, the mouse has been upward.

I have returned the laptop to Best Buy in two days and received the same model. A few days later, I faced the exact same problems. It is the laptop that I currently have. I thought that I could live with it, but I'm at my wits end.

I will note that when I have an external mouse plugged into the laptop, mouse gives me no problem whatsoever.

I have a HP Envy M6 n010dx

I am running Windows 8.1 x 64 bit

    Hi @Stitchbrb ,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I hope you enjoy your time with us.

I saw your post about the TouchPad getting extremely slow. I'll be happy to help you with that. I would start by reinstalling the Synaptic TouchPad driver and you can do this by using the Recovery Manager to restore the Original driver. You can also check the sensitivity setting by using this document from HP for help and troubleshooting of the TouchPad. There is a section on the TouchPad setting pointing sensitivities. Try these steps and let me know how it goes.

  • Tecra A3X-112: Fn + F1... Touch pad to work stoppage

    Hello everyone,

I have a Tecra A3X-112 on which Windows XP has been recently reinstalled.
I installed Windows XP before with other different copies, but this is the first time that I've known a few misadjustments.

My problem is that the combined with F1, F2... Fn keys stopped working, as well as Assist bottom on top of the keyboard.
In addition, the touchpad works, but I cannot turn it off.

I've been looking at the posts of some other users, and it seems that it is a problem to download the proper drivers from Toshiba Web page.

My question is: what drivers for the keys?

    a. for * Fn + function keys * should I intalled * utilities * or * Hotkeys utility for display devices? * There are even some users who recommend to installed a BIOS update or a common Module driver, but I'm not sure about this. By installing the appropriate driver, are all combinations FN + function keys work, or only some of them?
    b. for * Touch Pad *, should I intalled only * Touch Pad on / off utility * or * Touch Pad Driver * is also necessary?
    c. for * help the bottoms? *

    Send me the answers, please.
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello

The features of FN keys depend on several different factors. As a first step, it is important to have installed common modules. She is named for the other Toshiba designed tools and utilities.
Just for example: for the use of the keys FN + F2 (standby power options), you need to install modules common and tool watch.
While the first step I recommend to install common modules again.
When you are finished, check the functionality of the FN and post the result.

For FN + F9, you need to install TOSHIBA Touch Pad on / off Utility. Before that, it must be installed ALPS Pointing - device Driver.
You know, it's not easy to simply offer a solution to this. All the drivers, tools and utilities must be installed in order to good facilities. After having done that, everything should work well.

One thing, to help buttons try with TOSHIBA controls again.

  • Acer Aspire TimelineX 3820 t - Windows Update - Synaptics Touch Pad conflict

    Hello

I just bought an Acer Aspire TimelineX, 3820 T. It's like a Synaptics Touchpad, which works fine until I do a Windows Update. Once I do the update of Windows, the touch pad doesn't work. Even if it works, there is no control over the touchpad. It is an old laptop of the week and I won't send it to Service Center for repair. Also, I'm afraid to get Exchange of the same model, since it is a software problem with Windows update and could be the same thing with another of the same model. I disabled the Windows Update and there is no problem since then. But with the new laptop, I cannot deal with Windows update and will be updated soon.

    Help, please!

Welcome & thank you for your comments but I said nothing about disabling the automatic update from Windows Update.

  • Vista sp2 into conflict with Hp Quick Touch Pad and Audio devices

I read a lot of forums HP thinking it is one thing to HP, but after checking this forum I realize it might be a problem in windows vista.  At startup, I lose HP Quick Touch Pad.  What affects my sound.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and the software.  I tried the restore and recovery.  I tried the tool "Fixit" repeatedly with a solution.  When I try to move forward to find a solution, I get an error message on the add-ins eventually crashing my system.  I even tried to lay the basis of the question on a previous thread on this site about the absence of sound.  Maybe the Windows team can really start taking this problem seriously because it seems to be fairly widespread.  Many of them seek without Apple.  I'd rather have the fixed number.  One of Windows can actually give us a reasonable effort to resolve this issue.  Please don't mark as answered until it comes to a response confrimed.

I went into the log events and noticed that iTunes software package 'Hello' broke.  So I deleted the program.  I then did a reboot and when HP Quick Touch came as an error, their dose of Center solution actually worked.  Unfortunately, I tried to uninstall and reinstall the software sound without success.  I have also noticed recently that USB does not recognize the device.  More funny thing is, there is nothing plugged into the USB.

  • mouse and touch pad problem

It seems that my mouse and touch pad have an auto-scroll function.  It just sucks.  How can I disable this auto scroll?

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand you want to turn off auto scroll features. I'll be happy to help you.

What is the brand and model of your computer?

We turn off the "Enable vertical scroll" option and check if it helps.

We will, click Start, in the search type Control Panel, press ENTER. Double click mouse, mouse properties and uncheck 'enable vertical scrolling '.

See also the site of computer manufacturer for the touchpad settings. Because the touch pad settings depends on the manufacturer of the touchpad.

  • How to change the default setting for the touch-pad?

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 running Windows 7 Home Premium.

I use it 99% of the time on your desktop, using a mouse instead of the key.

Sometimes I forget to turn off the key by using the small dot in the upper left corner, which causes the movement of the cursor unexpectedly.

Question: Is there a way to reset the value by default for the touch-pad to be inactive, and use the small point to activate the key only if I use the computer in a remote location?

Thanks for any help on this.

    Larry

    Hi Larry,

See if you have the following option.

Open windows control panel, open the mouse, click the device settings tab and then click on the button "settings".  Click on the + next to the Touchpad disable Zone, and then click top left Action.  Click on the radio button for TouchPad Switch Off, click on apply and then click Ok.  Click apply and then click OK in the remaining window.

This should enable the TouchPad on/off function to remember, so if you turn it off, it will be turned off after a reboot.

    Kind regards

    DP - K

  • VAIO made gestures 15th touch pad

I recently bought a Vaio 15th Fit. My older laptop vaio had a touchscreen tablet, which was already the functionality of scrolling and other gestures. I looked up tutorials on how to enable gestures. I went to the Panel of control-> hardware and sound-> devices and printers-> mouse. It is not multi touch gesture or whatever it is. Is it possible to activate or install a reader touch pad that can make the gestures?

Please provide the exact model name of your VAIO computer.  You can also try to install available updates for your computer by typing the model name here http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/select-system.pl?DIRECTOR=DRIVER.

    Hi Chanellex,

Thank you very much for the product number. I hope you had a good weekend. I included the link to the driver for your TouchPad below. Start by making sure that the original driver is deleted. Go to your device manager and looking for your Synaptics TouchPad or something similar. Right click and uninstall. Then, install the link below. Please, note use this method if you have an external mouse, if you install just the software.
