HP G61 - 448CA computer laptop battery low quality.

Support staff HP and my fellow forum users.

I own a HP G61 model 448 portable computer CA and have used it with more or less good efficiency over the past four years. Unfortunately but the quality of my battery has dropped considerably in recent months leading to a battery error message every time I turn it on. I also noticed that the charge runs out very quickly when it is not plugged into the minutes rather than an hour or two. I could not find a way to save my battery and repair its effectiveness or find a suitable replacement on the HP online store. I tried to call their support line, but they seem to be busy every time. Any help pointing me to a solution or a way to buy a spare battery that will focus on my laptop for a reasonable price would be greatly appreciated.

4 years is a battery to last long.

eBay has new batteries original for the good price too long you can expect for China shipping:

  • Computer laptop battery "in charge" but stuck at 0%

    Hello

I have a G6-1b79ca Pavilion and the battery stopped charging.

Windows show "Plugged in, load" and level to remain at 0%. Forever.

Of course it is now completely empty.

If I remove the CC of the computer plug, turn it off immediately.

Here's what I did so far, more or less in that order:

    1. replace the battery (recommended by the logon page BIOS...)

    2 tried this popular patch:

Stop-> remove battery and power cord-> hold down the button "POWER" 30 sec-> power supply DC-> Boot->-> battery-> uninstall Microsoft ACPI-Complient control method battery -> Shutdown-> put the battery in the Device Manager (cannot start on him alone because it does not... but maybe that might help)-> start the computer

    3. updated all the drivers and reinstalled all the HP utility (got the Intel drivers on the Intel site)

    4. I updated the BIOS with the latest version and reset to default settings

5 tested the power supply with a multimeter (Psu unloaded, sleeve ground referenced outside it read 19.8V = internal plug, 18V centering PIN)

6 replace the motherboard (which has already been replaced)

    7. replace the power supply

    8 reinstalled Windows

9 weld the power directly to the motherboard adapter in order to bypass the connections all contacts (cut the CC Plug and soldered the bare wires directly on the pcb)

The utility HP BIOS (F2 on startup) told me that the new battery fails the test and must be replaced. Awesome.

The battery in the utility test assistant (run in Windows) HP tells me that the battery is OK, but would need to be loaded (Seriously? It becomes funny...)

So basically the material is new.

Utility Windows/HP tells me that the battery is OK, but the BIOS utility will tell me to replace it.

    What the hell is happening?

The material is supposed to be (entirely replaced) A1 and windows were completely reinstalled.

Any suggestion? My beginning of sanity to fade...

On a side note, here is the situation that I hope not occurred:

    1. the original battery has failed

    2. he burned the motherboard charging circuit

    3. I replaced the battery then damaged mother burned load circuit card

    4. I finally replaced the motherboard that was damaged by the new battery, which was damaged by the previous motherboard, which was damaged by the original battery...

5 return to square one, hundreds of $ less and a lot of time to lose...

I can't buy ANOTHER motherboard/battery combo without going crazy...

    Thanks for any help!

    HE IS ALIVE! Lolll!

The problem is the new battery, I don't know why, but it was completely empty and never had to charge.

I ask the seller to replace and load a new a bit so I was able to start on battery only.

I removed the power supply and the battery, which held the POWER button / 30 sec and started on the battery alone.

Once in Windows I pluged the charger and now it is fully charged!

Looks like the key here is to be able to start on battery alone. one thing I could never reach while struggling with that drained.

This thread of hope help someone solve battery problems, because there are MANY possible solutions.

Thanks to those who have taken their time to help!

  • computer laptop battery Studio 1555 question

I have a portable Studio 1555 at startup which said that my battery is not Dell and cannot load it.  If I unplug the power supply it stops. It's a Dell battery, the initial problem.  I keep plugged in f most of the time but as to move and work with it outside my office area.  I can't do this.  Any suggestions?

If it's more than a year it must be replaced with a new battery from dell. Batteries last longer if you use it and recharge it regularly.

I've also included some tips on how to prolong the life of your battery

How to extend your battery life

The storage capacity of the battery will degrade over time, based on the use of your laptop. This degradation is normal for all rechargeable batteries. If you run your laptop on battery often, requiring one or more refills per day, the battery will degrade more quickly and requires a replacement more quickly than a battery that is used occasionally. Temperature and humidity influence the battery's storage capacity. Store the battery and the laptop somewhere cool and dry.

Under normal conditions, a battery should run well for more than a year, but it will retain less fresh whenever he reloads.

Tips to maximize the life of the battery:

    • Turn down the brightness of the screen.

    • Use the energy saver power Plan.

    • Buy another battery to limit the number of re-charge on a battery.

    • Remove the battery from the laptop when not in use.

    • Store your laptop somewhere cool and dry.

    • Do not charge the battery for more than 8 hours.

    • Remove the battery from the laptop when using current alternative to avoid the short charge and discharge cycles.

    Note

    • When you store a battery for a long period of time, it must be stored in a cool, dry place with about 50% charge on the battery. A battery stored with little remaining load can completely discharge and not being able to be recharged.

    See you soon

No, but understand this isn't a real HP battery. The working hypothesis is simply the ability of the cells. Watt hours. It does not affect the current quantity battery provides the laptop at all times.

  • Question about the laptop battery and satellite L510

I have a Toshiba Satellite L510 and find the battery moves a bit - like 2mm so be it.
It is on the edge of the laptop, I suppose, but I was wondering if there should be no movement at all?

On my two laptops from Toshiba battery cannot be moved, but the battery is locked and cannot be moved or deleted.
Your laptop satellite battery is too locked?

By the way: when you use the notebook on the desk, this movement is irrelevant and cannot have a negative influence on the power supply for computer laptop battery s.

It is quite clearly a hardware problem, not a a Windows. Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them what to do.

  • Computer laptop closing drank himself and the battery goes from fully charged low battery in a short period of time?

Hi I have a question about my laptop Toshiba Satellite. I've had it for almost 2 years and it worked fine up until just recently, my laptop stops itself and I thought before that this could be due to a heating problem but when it stops my laptop is not yet hot. I have installed new programs or anything again for that matter so I'm honestly confused? What's wrong with that? I also keep my laptop on a laptop computer fan to keep over heating.

    Hello

  • OMEN of HP for computer laptop 15-ax006no: best way to use the battery

I bought a HP OMEN for computer laptop 15-ax006no (http://store.hp.com/SwedenStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=X9Z44EA & opt = UUW & salt = NTB) earlier this week and I wonder how is best to use and to keep the battery?

-Should I disconnect the battery when I have access to outlet?

    - Or should I fully charge and then use remove the charger and only work on battery?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Batteries and Chargers for modern laptops are now smarter than we thought. They stop to load when 100% full

    1. Should I disconnect the battery when I have access to outlet? You, the risk is down, you have no backup power supply and it can kill your machine, speciall if she had a normal HARD drive.
    2. Or should I fully charge and then use remove the charger and only work on battery? This isn't a good idea because the battery will run out and you will need to recharge which means increase in cycles and the charge battery will die earlier.

My option: maintain the battery even when plugin

    Hello:

Laptops today have smart cards and smart batteries which means that the adapter is supposed to stop charging the battery when the battery is fully charged.

You can keep the charger connected to the laptop, most of the time, but I suggest that you unplug the charger from the battery twice a month and run the laptop battery until you get the notification to connect to an external power source.
