HP G62 overheating & close.

My laptop HP G62 is overheating and stop suddenly recently.  I tried all of the recommended patches I can find (cleaning of chimneys, bios download, etc.), but to no avail.  She is well ventilated and the air vents are clean.  Any suggestions?

Have you completely disassembled cleaned portable fan/radiator and changed the thermal paste?

Hey guys, I've had my P750 for a month now and it is a great piece of kit, however, I get some problems with games.

Im a hardcore gamer and im environment find on all the games I play theres at least one problem with the graphics card (everything is stock again). Currently, a game that I play more is Heroes of Newerth, during the matches, that it will freeze the game HUD remove and relax afterwards in the game without it crashing during the game, I can see some weird things as my arm of characters will be 10 times longer than normal etc etc. Similar issues occur with other games. Worst case the graphics card will close the game and give me a message saying graphics card has just recovered from a critical error, or along those lines (this however only happened once)

Anyone, I sent this laptop under warranty (unfortunately the spleen of the ELF period) and it had recurred with no fault found. Have not updated the drivers at all, I'm starting to think it may be an option.

I tried updating the BIOS, reinstall windows recovery partition and all components, but it does not solve anything. Also tried to install Windows 7 and still nothing and windows Xp and still nothing. I Don t know what else to do. Help will be apreciated.

    Thank you very much.

  • HP G62-b31EE notebook PC: automatic shutdown due to overheating

    Hello.
I am facing this problem of overheating since the last 3 years and it is getting worse with every passing summer.

Whenever I have run a software or try to play a game on this laptop he gets shutdown. The body is not physically warm enough for a hot machine. I also changed the thermal paste about 6 months ago. I worked pretty well in the first week but right after that one week he began to do the same thing again. Now, even when there is no load on the CPU and I launch the web browser or any other software, its CPU temperature starts rising and only about 90 degrees Celsius, it turns off.

It's really frustrating because I can't do assignments or other everything works fine on my machine. Kindly help me and tell me what should I do to fix this problem.

  • Urgent: HP G62 nine Auto Shutdown

I bought brand new HP laptop G62 his job very well 3 or 4 times when I start the beginning of fan for sleep mode and never stops, then after a few minutes is shut down automatically without asking or are preparing to close an idea?

Several times a laptop overheating is directly related to the cooling of the processor. The main culprit is the fan. The fan draws in air from the bottom and it blows on the side. It will also suck in the hair, dust and other debris. Often this kind of thing is trapped by the heat sink and the wire time accumulates in a layer that stifles the cool air, go to the processor, making the fan to redouble their efforts.

What I recommend is to take a canned air and blow out vents in the side and the underside of the laptop. If after that you still have overheating problems and your laptop is under warranty, you can take your laptop to an authorized Service Center HP and ask them to clean the fan and the heat sink. You can check your warranty here:

    http://www13.itrc.HP.com/service/ewarranty/warrantyResults.do?admit=109447627+1286541891570+28353475

If it is out of warranty, consider looking for the service manual for your specific model, in the manual it is patterns to disassemble the laptop. It is much easier that remove a motherboard, so don't feel intimidated by the idea of clean the fan. Also you can remove the heat sink and then remove the thermal grease and apply a new layer, which also helps reduce heat related issues.

I hope this helps. If you like my advice and it works for you, please thank me by clicking on the star of Kudos under my screen name, thank you!

  • HP G62 fan not working not not :/

Hi, I have a hp laptop g62-454TU that has worked very hot lately. Recently when I was using my laptop on a desk the screen went black. I assumed it was overheated just as usual except when I rebooted it, there was no fan noise and there was a message saying that the cooling fan is not working and ask if I wanted to continue. I pressed on enter and it boots into windows. 10 minutes after if overheated and shut down again. When I rebooted, it came with the same fan not work message so I let it close. I can't use it. I will buy a dm4 soon but I would like to know what the problem is and if I can do anything. I don't know much about computers. At the moment I am using a Samsung 7 years so I need a solution. Should I buy a new computer? My HP is 2 years old and frequently overheated before. Thanks for your time.

Replacing the fan may be the answer with a good cleaning & radiator Setup review.

You may be able to get a light use out of it in it now raised about 25 mm & having a table fan boy blowing through it to help remove some heat & cool just run.

Unfortunately high that running time & bad thermal design & components is a standard feature of HP, a leading cause of poor life of laptops & of common failures such as hdd death in 18 months or less.

  • Equium A60-199 randomly shutting down - could it be overheating issue

Hi, I am writing on behalf of a friend who knows his laptop A60 closing unexpectedlly... (she says that he stopped after a few minutes, or when she tried to open Firefox)

    Details of system
Toshiba Equium A60-199 Model No.: PSA67E-00J00C8J
    18 GB free & 19 GB used
    512 MB OF RAM
    CPU Celeron 2.93GH

    Running Windows XP Home
    NIS 2006

I took a look at distance and was about 30 minutes without any problem using FF logmeinitreach... There was nothing showing in the event log manager, for the time of day, that it would close down all before... so I was wondering if it is a faulty power supply?

Everythng is going on well just clicked on the analysis of complete system of Norton Internet security which has not been run in a long time and the PC, stop NOW, it will not restart everything. ??

Apparently she can hear some buzzing but nothing happens... (which I think might well be the blow fan)

Advised her to let a little and about 2 hours later, she was able to turn it back on... I wonder if it could be overheating. ??

Apparently he is 3/4 months than what was going on then ceased to happen and started again...

Please can you give me some advice on how to clean it - other than to take it to a hardware shop

I downloaded the A60 user manual and have themselves asked to confirm what show the lights - in an attempt to check overheating
    is the question...

I've also read online "you can spray compressed air into the gills of admission but not airflow vents to help get rid of the dust and debris." I have looked at the manual and can see 2 lots of mouths... It is on the side and the other on the bottom, is e eintake the one on the side? I literally direct the air on side air intakes and the spray?

When you ask him if she knows that when the fan is always, sometimes on, never an etc. she was thinking ot is ALWAYS on... who'd show up again overheating...

    Hello Cathy

I also believe that the sudden stops are the result of overheating. If the dust is blocking cooling air flow grill is blocked and material can reach the critical temperature of material very fast. Sometimes you can start any application pre-installed, the CPU usage goes to the next level and laptop will suddenly stop.

The laptop should be cleaned as soon as possible. If you have no experience with the disassembly procedure I recommend you contact the closest service and the laptop must be cleaned on professional way. It costs a little bit, but you can be sure that you use Notepad for a longer period of time.

If you need the addresses and phone numbers to contact the ASP (authorized service provider) please visit http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Equium A60 problem overheating and stand-by

Yes, again, someone else has a problem with overheating Equium. I thought and knew that it was a foul, I checked the CPU and it looked like 2-4% and the fan still worked riot. But recently, I noticed when I press ctrl alt del to remove the Manager tasks, the CPU is more than 50% (73% was highest) and she quickly falls to 2-4%. When he's sitting their without programs or additional processes running. So I aint got a clue whats with her.

The problem of confirmation suddenly started today. Usually, when I close the lid of my portable computer goes off standby. Today I did it, but after about 5 seconds, to be on stand-by there walk back by himself while the lid was still closed!

So two problems here... lucky me. If anyones got any help to share its much appreciated, cheers.

    Eddie,

The microcntroller of power on your responsible MB of the amount of current alternative used to charge your battery, and once the battery is fully charged no extra power is used. The battery must warm up all supported actually, but fully charged when it should then cool even when plugged into AC power.

The adapter itself will always get warm (if it is not hot) when the notebook is turned on because it provides food for the notebook.

EMI the single more general cause of overheating is the lack of air through the radiator of CPU, or because the radiator itself is blocked by debris (as described in the previous post excellent) article of air flows blocked by the bad location of the notebook.

Excessive fan operation is an indicator course of the CPU, not too hot. If the radiator is clear (warm air can be felt through it), then the next most likely culprit would be excessive use of CPU in which case I would check in Task Manager to see exactly which processes were underway and who used the most CPU.

  • Tecra A8 - is overheating caused by Firefox?

Here in the forum is my post
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=50994&TSTART=0

Everything counts in overheating, which is resolved.

Just to add, this processor "overheating" may also be caused by Firefox. I mean, when I close Firefox, rest process firefox.exe Firefox active leading to the processor of work increased, with temperatures similar to those of the screenshot in my very first post at the top of the page link. And after killing the process, everything is Ok.

    Hi Suad Novic,

To be honest I n don't know what problems you have but in my opinion it of normal Firefox produces the CPU usage. I use this browser for years now and never had a problem and for me it of normal that the laptop is cooler if no application is started.

I think that if you try the same with Internet Explorer you also use most of the CPU.

  • Qosmio X 500 PQX33E close while gaming

    Hey guys,.

last week my laptop suddenly shut down, everything at stake.
The laptop is closed while surfing on the internet.
So I think it is due to overheating.

I already cleaned the dust and got new heatsink paste.
I think that the main problem is that fans never go at full speed.
    So I think it's a software problem.

He startet all around the time I have updated the bios to version 2.9.
I could not be sure of the version of the bios before upgrade and just 2.8 on the internet.
I reinstalled it but it does not solve the problem.

    Does anyone have an idea?
Or could give me a link for the bios software prior to version 2.8?

    Sonkyo

    > Laptop computer is not close while surfing on the internet.

In my opinion, the problem is that the GPU is running with a yield maximum everything at stake.
This causes higher heat dissipation and increases the temperature.

Of my knowledge and according to some post here in the forum, the Toshiba display driver supports protection against overheating.
This overheating protection decreases the performance of the GPU where the temperature would be too high. As far as I know the common drivers ATI or nVidia don t supports such protection.

  • My Qosmio G50 - 129 guard gal overheating, extreme

I bought a Toshiba qosmio g50-129 and I got it for about 9-10 months.

Now, whenever I play a game, it overheats and I get so far behind that he started 3-5 frames per second.

This occurs every 1-2 minutes and lasts 30 to 45 seconds, it makes a lot of noise and makes my computer lag a lot.

    Is "broken"?
I always he managed very carefully, never had a virus. I even formatted the C: drive to see if it the problem disappeared, he was gone for about 5 days, I only downloaded world of warcraft.

    What ive tried:

    Update all drivers.
Close all other applications, all unnecessary processes.
    Graphic abseloutely reduction minimum.

It has 512 MB graphic card, nvidia 9600 gmt or smthing.
    4 GB of ddr3 1 k mhz RAM memory
    2, 66 GHz processor. Intel core 2 duo t9550

    Hello

What graphics card drivers did you use?
You should always use the Toshiba graphics card driver since this driver supports protection against overheating!

Last week, I read on the 3rd page of party that this original nVidia graphics card driver has been removed nvidia page because it caused overheating of the GPU
I hope you didn t use the nVidia page graphics driver

    Second question;
Do you use the latest BIOS?
If this isn't the case, please update this!

  • Qosmio X 870 overheating while game

    Hello

I have a qosmio that runs on 95-100 celzius GPU and 85-90 CPU temperatures while 1 day game.
Then I got shut downs overheating about 9 months later.

I'm going to the service and they clean and rebonding it, he has not stopped more but temperatures remained.

20 days later GPU is dead, they replaced, then 10 months later GPU died once again, I heard Burns inside the laptop.

They have developed a new once again, but after that when I play for 2 hours, screen off somethimes at least once, twice at this time.

I took the laptop to the service for the fourth time, a few days later they say that they have not yet diagnosed dysfunction.

But my biggest concern is that the temperatures are high all this time, I read on the forum of A.s.u.s that guy with that kind of temperatures obtained immediately replace, and the new book got 20 degrees low temp.

Laptop is around the age of 20 months, and my question is:
am I still entitled for replacement or they will just patch every few months so that the warranty expires:(parce qu'ils sont de rabotage pour réparer de nouveau.)

I need for video editing, this is why I bought it, and now for the 4th time my bussines is waiting for a week or two.

Sorry for the long post, im hoping for some response or post where I can request a replacement, thank you.

    > I never receive replacement or they will just patch until a few months before the expiration of the warranty because they plan to fix it again.

As far as I know Toshiba authorized service partner can only repair the laptop and you must make sure that the laptop will be fixed to your full satisfaction.

    > I took laptop to serve for the fourth time, a few days later they say that they have not yet diagnosed dysfunction. But my biggest concern is that the temperatures are high all the time.

From my experience, if the laptop will not automatically, closes the temperature level isn't too high. Usually in case of overheating, the laptop must turn off automatically to protect the internal parts of the damage.

  • Satellite A300D-13Y - extreme overheating issues?

    Hello world

    I have a Toshiba A300D Y13 Satellity system since mid-2008.
This is the AMD platform with the graphics card of Turion 64 X 2 TL - 60 & ATI Radeon HD 3650. Recently, he began to fade. First the system began to slown down extremely after awhile which was in early 2010. And now the system begins to shut down within 2 minutes then in the game (same counter strike 1.6 it kills).

I started to wonder what was going on so I installed GPU. Z and Core Temp on my system and I saw that the CPU would run on 62 ° C in "idle" mode and the graphics card at 60 ° C. While in game Core temp would climb to more than 78 ° C and 75 ° C graphics card. So I decided to clean up the dust system, as it has been described in this forum. To my surprise he wasn't still so much dust in there it was almost nothing. But nevertheless the base temperature is now the graphics card to 46 ° C and 43 ° C in idle. But always as soon as I start a game or even flash the base temperature program and the graphics card temp totalled more than 78 ° C and the laptop continues to close immediately. Since it was still overheating, I thought that maybe the system is too low (because it sucks air from the bottom and there are less than 1 cm of space between the desktop and the laptop). I joined to 4 small foam pit with some adhesive tape to it to increase it a little.

Well idle temp of the kernel sunk to 41 ° C and 42 ° C for the graphics card. He now runs a little longer in games or so flash watchig, but it still turns off because it is still overheating. I wonder if anyone knows what the problem could be that the system is still overheating.

    Thanks in advance
