HP LP2408ZX: Monitor displays no - HP LP2408ZX

Hello

I recently bought a used HP LP2408ZX monitor. When I connected to PC (windows 10, 64-bit), the screen does not display anything and remains off.

The power is connected, and all cables are connected properly. I use the same cable to connect the old screen, this old screen displays.

The strange thing is when I try to reset button to factory or by changing the color mode (full Colorr / RGB /..), the screen may display correctly. But it only lasts for about two seconds and goes back to white screen again.  This shows at least that the monitor is connected correctly. The video signal is welcomed and the equipment works.

Can anyone help?

Thank you.

  • Re: Tecra S5 - 15 q - monitor display lines vertical and error 43 for GPU

After about 5 years my Tecra S5 is experiencing problems with its graphics.
Most of the time the (internal and connected an external via VGA) monitor displays vertical lines, and windows gives an error 43 on the map.

I was wondering if there is a way to solve this problem, and if this problem could be solved under warranty (although the protohistory of the warranty expired 3 years ago.) .

In my opinion, it is bad material work and as far as I know only way to fix it is motherboard Exchange. I n t have this model of laptop, but I can presume that the GPU is fixed on the motherboard and cannot be traded separately.

    Fixed under warranty? Of course.

  • old PC, new monitor display problems

Just bought a new monitor for my old Presario SR1500NX, but I can't adjust the screen resolution of 1600 x 900, who wants my monitor - it has a maximum setting of 1024 x 768. (Monitor = from HP2009m, widescreen) The graphics in my PC is "VIA / S3G UniChrome IGP. When I go to the tab view S3 it shows "Display devices" like an old CRT monitor, which I did not. I was using an older 17 '' LCD monitor 4:3 in the last 3 years, & it worked out of this video card, but my new widescreen monitor display is "stretched veeerrryyyy." I think I need a new "video card", correct? If so, can you recommend one if I can buy and install it (I printed installation instructions of a new video from the HP Web site card for my PC). I'm kind of smart with the software, but not the hardware side of computers. I installed more RAM on my PC, so I'm not familiar with the inside. (And no, I can't afford a new computer right now - I know that mine is old, but it works perfectly for my needs, I wanted just a new, larger monitor!) Thanks for any help you can give me.

AG, here is a video card that should work with your power supply and a new monitor.  It is not a barn burner, but a lot more than the maximum resolution that is required to run it.  It is said that the minimum power is 300W.  However, manufacturers tend to overstate the power requirements of their cards.  Read the customer reviews and specifications on the product Page.  This will give you some good information.

The card should improve the performance of your computer, too.  It will free the system memory that is shared with the video chip and add video memory on the card itself.  You could improve the memory to 2 GB to increase performance even more.

  • Satellite A30 714: external monitor displays in 640 x 480 only

I am trying to connect to an external LCD monitor with a native resolution of 1280 x 1024. When I plugged the screen plug-and-play Windows XP installed, now when I switch to the screen of the laptop to this screen (or running dual screen) it will be the only display at 640 x 480 and does all of the options in the graphic properties to change the resolution.
But, if I use the external display as extended desktop, then I'm able to put any resolution I want upward and above 1280 x 1024.
I am running XP Home and I have installed the latest graphics drivers from Toshiba.

    Can anyone offer advice please?

    Hi Derek

It's very strange. If the correct driver is pre-installed to avoid any problems. If you want to use just external monitor using FN + F5 to change the Office externally and then change the resolution (the number of screen 1 must be enabled).

How can I get it back?

    Windows 7 64 home

Discovered that the problem is not the sound card.

It was caused by the CV SmartMedia SmartMenu came with my computer.

It was a startup item, and when it has been disabled in the startup list, the volume control bar shows up... except if you started the program.

So I decided just to allow him to return to the boot list.

  • Multiple monitors / displays on y560 (win7) - total 3 screens

I thought for sure it would be sustained but I can't get it to do any 2 of the 3.

I wish I could keep my laptop usable and also 2 external monitors with VGA and HDMI output.

    Any ideas? Is this possible?

    I'm on Y560, Windows 7, 64-bit, 8 GB RAM, ATI Mobile Radeon HD 5730.

This term describes a computer with a single graphics card that has two outputs video. This type of adapter is also known as a graphics card double head. many graphics cards have a dvi output and a vga output.

Take a look at this thread on the double display.

  • Lenovo L440 will not docking station during bios monitor display

I have a Lenovo L440 portable dock with a think pad pro. The HARD drive is encrypted with TrueCrypt and needs a password before windows starts. The laptop will not display on the monitor attached to the dock before loading windows. I changed the bios Config setting > display > display device boot, as well as all the other options display, but it does make a difference. I tried with a VGA cable and a DVI cable, and no work. I tried with 2 different L440s and 2 docking stations with the same problem on both product. I used a laptop Lenovo L540 with success the same model of docking station. I also updated to the latest version of the bios.

I wonder if I'm missing something or if simply, L440 model does not support this feature?

The hotline of Lenovo was not able to help.

The motherboard had to be replaced on the two L440s to fix this problem.

All the colors randomly displays as a spot on the screen and the other letters in a sentence is missing. I tried in safe mode with just visible in debug mode, but it doesn't happen in the journal to the screen. I can not even reinstall windows xp. Now I'm not able to understand if it's the problem of the operating system or a malfunction of certain components of the computer. Please help me.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    Method 1:

I suggest you to start the computer using the VGA Mode.

    (a) restart the computer

    (b) press F8

    (c) in the start menu

    (d) choose the option

    (e) activate the VGA Mode

This option starts Windows in mode 640 x 480 using the current video driver (not Vga.sys). This mode is useful if the display is configured to a setting that the monitor cannot display.

    Reference:

To start the computer in safe mode

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true

    Method 2:

If you are able to start the computer using the VGA Mode, you can perform a system restore to the date where the computer worked well.

How to restore Windows XP to a previous state

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/306084

If you use system restore when the computer is in safe mode, you can't undo the restore operation. However, you can run System Restore again and choose a different restore point if any. You can also create Safe Mode system restore points. System Restore affects the Windows system files, programs and registry settings that have been changed recently. It can also make changes to scripts, files, batch and other types of executable files on your computer. System Restore does not affect personal files, such as e-mail, documents, or photos, so it cannot help you restore a deleted file.

If the problem persists, you may need to contact the manufacturer of the monitor to the stand.

  • Have W2071d monitor, display settings do not allow non-native resolution matrices

'' Recommended '' this monitor width setting is 1600 X 900, but when I go to the "Display" dialog box, the only options available to me are that were available using my old monitor.

The monitor "selected" for common use (under "Advanced"-> tab monitor in the "Display settings" dialog box) is dangerously just labeled "Default monitor", and while the system produces to the monitor, it only does these original native resolutions, so that, under factory settings, the image is stretched horizontally to a significant degree, and when I put it to adapt to the proportions rather He's a little blur hired on small fonts/texts during the largest possible display setting, almost as if I ask it to produce makes me superior to output 1-to-1 ratio of pixels and the entire surface of the monitor is not being used anyway.

In any case, the button/dialog box 'Properties' is not yet available on the tab 'monitor' breast, so I can't try to update the driver. I don't really know what to do at this point. In addition, the computer now tells me whenever I start that he detected new hardware connected, but it may not recognise, does not support installation at home, but whenever I try to point it to the drivers it tells me that the file contain no information about my hardware device.

VGASave is the 'default' for Windows XP driver if there is no other driver available for the system. It is possible that some sort of error, or maybe an automatically Windows Update installed, breaking your graphics card driver. I would certainly try reinstall the driver as a first step of troubleshooting.
